Before writing this review I attempted to contact the store and corporate only to receive no response. We ordered an ice cream cake for Thanksgiving, and what we received yesterday though was excessively disappointing and truthfully, an unacceptable cake. Cutting into the cake, there was no chocolate ice cream, almost 0 cake crunch and a pocket of fudge in the middle. This cake was very poorly made and for ~$32, we were shocked to see we paid more for far less. I'm excessively disappointed and truthfully disgusted that this was passed off as an ice cream cake at an exorbitant price and even more disappointed that I received no contact back to help correct the situation. read more

This is now the closest Dairy Queen to me after the one in Passaic unfortunately closed. I always preferred that one because it was inside so there was no waiting outside in the rain or heat but it's gone. This Dairy Queen is fine and it does get pretty busy so be prepared to wait in line. Everything I have gotten here (blizzards, shakes) is good. The service is always pretty good as well. My only minor complaint is that they run out of ingredients sometimes which is I guess due to being so busy. A small complaint. There is a small parking lot and street parking is available. I still miss Passaic but this is where I will go from now on. read more

They have the social distancing routine down and everyone is abiding quite well. I got the summer berry blizzard. Extra fruit. If you like blueberries and blackberries, this is SOOOOOOO refreshing. Went there on a nice summer Saturday. Only one family in front of me, so not busy. Greeted the employee "Hey how's it going" and just got like a death stare like what do you want. I ordered a twist cone and asked that it be placed in a cup because I have to drive with it and asked for m&ms on top. Immediately was told m&ms could not be put on a cone, even though I was getting the cone in a cup. So I explain that and get handed my order. A completely vanilla (not twist) cone placed upside down in a cup. The bottom of the cup was full of the m&ms pieces. Nothing on the top of the ice cream so literally had to dig through the entire thing before getting any of the topping. Staff needs to work on the customer service and just practicality. Easily the worst dairy queen ice cream I've ever had. They got both me and my boyfriends orders wrong and our blizzards were already melting when we got them. Talk about disappointment! Unfortunately it was like we were drinking icecream soup and had to throw them away. Money down the drain. The girls at the counter were super friendly. My go to is Reese's Pieces blizzard, unfortunately, I was informed that it was discontinued. I settled for the m&m's one but should of gotten the Heath bar one but it's ok. My BF got the new snickers cream pie blizzard, he said it was delicious! Ordered an Oreo Blizzard from this Dairy Queen and it definitely had a weird after-taste. Kept eating to try and figure it out. It was as if it had old milk mixed in. One bite would be OK, but the next would taste sour. As I kept eating, it just got worse. I had to throw the rest of it away. (For what it's worth, I ordered a small and only ate about a third of it.) My boyfriend also ordered an Oreo Blizzard but in a large and his tasted fine. Saw the DQ Ad on TV of there Funnel Cake with ice cream and my BFF said 'oh..., get one'. So lucky for me there one in my home town just a few blocks away and I did the fast dash to it. Now funnel cakes can be crispy depends on preparation, and are topped with powdered sugar and drizzled with a topping of your choice, served warm with a side of ice cream in this case. The toppings available include hot fudge, caramel, and strawberry. I picked the strawberry and they put it on the soft vanilla ice cream and the funnel cake too. And it has real strawberries chunks and not just syrup. And this was to go so they gave me a cover for it which help in case of a spills or overflow since the warm funnel cake was beginning to melt the ice cream. And it also stops me from getting any licks in before I gave it to my BFF. We shared It and it tasted real good considering it's only three simple ingredients. I haven't been to Dairy Queen in years, but when I saw they were giving away a free soft serve cone, I couldn't pass it up. The small soft serve cone was free, and an additional dollar for sprinkles. The line was crazy that day, but it moved pretty fast. It only took about 20 minutes to get my ice cream. The staff was surprisingly friendly, even with the volume of customers being served on free soft serve cone day. The cone with sprinkles tasted great and reminded me of childhood. I took a look at their menu prices and its gotten pretty expensive. The small cone, that I got for free, would have cost me $2.89 and a small blizzard is $5.23. I do have cravings every now and then, for their soft serve and blizzards, so I'll probably be back, albeit somewhat sparingly. read more

Who doesn't love ice cream?! Dairy Queen is open all year round and this is located conveniently on Park Ave in Rutherford, which is a main road filled with local mom pop restaurants. After dinner in town, stop by for some sweets :) Love their sundaes whether it's strawberry, chocolate or hot fudge! The staff is friendly. There are a few benches and outdoor tables for warmer weather days. Parking lot is available as well as off street parking. Why all the hate?? Dairy Queen, and this DQ specifically, is preeettttty amazing. Let's be clear, I love Blizzards. I could eat them for every meal, every day and still get excited about the next one. I converted my entire family from DQ soft serve orderers to Blizzard addicts. So yes, I love Blizzards and have no qualms standing in line outside in February. This DQ location has always been reliable for us. It's always pretty busy but they're pretty efficient and nice enough although don't expect them to go out of the way with cheeriness. We've ordered countless Blizzards and a few cakes and honestly have never been disappointed. The Blizzards always have plenty of mixins and aren't melty the moment you get them. This location always has the new Blizzard flavors quickly and is able to make old flavors months after they were the featured flavor of the month. Some reviewers said it has gotten expensive, however, we have visited other DQ locations and the sizes here are actually bigger so maybe that's why? By far one of the busiest DQ's I've been to. We waited in line for 20 minutes on a Saturday night in September to get our ice cream, but we drove exactly 4.2 miles (closest DQ from home) specifically for the Oreo blizzard and the soft serve cone with sprinkles, so it was well worth the wait. So, why 4 stars if we had to wait 20 minutes? There are benches unlike at other DQ's. So you can actually sit down and eat if you want. And our ice cream maker loaded me up with Oreos. Kudos.
