Went to Urban Leaf the other they since I saw they serve SPAM on their menu so I ordered the 3 different SPAM food items they have: SPAM and cheese sliders on a pandesal bread, SPAM Musubi and SPAM-Nori bowl. Also ordered the Ube Oreo Frozen Bubble Tea which I enjoyed. But back to the SPAM. The slider wasn't anything special (easy to eat driving though), pandesal bread was good. I'd definitely try a hot tea next time and hang out here with a book. The staff was super friendly and even let me try the white boba which I had never even heard of. I finally got to try this place out! Went for a taro bubble milk tea (with tapioca). Perfect balance of creamy and sweet. Even my toddler liked it! There are a quite a few tea and coffee choices. I had the purple clouds waffle and it was really good. I wish the waffle had more of a crisp to it, I kinda thought it was going to be hollow inside but it wasn't. The ube ice cream was delicious. I tried my wife's green tea ice cream waffle and for me the ice cream lacked sweetness but don't listen to me I don't like green tea, so the jury can erase that from the record. This local joint has a variety of food dishes I would want to try as well. Though this place probably won't be my go-to, I'll definitely be coming back to get these warm and fluffy egg waffles (and maybe try other things too lol). I think this location benefits from being in a very suburban area because it is good, but would probably struggle against bigger branded joints in more Asian-population dense urban areas where customers might be accustomed to better presentation. I am taking off a star for interior design and presentation. Cafes tend to be social spots where people meet or study in groups..but the decor here was visibly cheap. They used the cheapest dining set available on ikea (I verified this) and the store was far more sparse and uncomfortable than most cafes. Adding some mood lighting, cushions, and wall decorations would seriously improve my desire to stay here rather than grab my food/drink and go. My boyfriend and I have found our new go-to dessert cafe! We originally came here for the first time to satisfy a bubble tea craving, but after browsing their menu, we opted for the Pandesal Ice Cream Sandwich (I ordered it with ube ice cream) and the Mango Delight which consists of diced mangos, mango juice, mango boba, and mango ice cream. After tasting a bite of each, my little Filipino heart was ecstatic! They both tasted beyond delicious and we wound up devouring it all. We're going to have to come back to order everything else - especially the Spam Masubi, bubble waffle, and bubble teas! The Ube Oreo and Green Tea Oreo bubble teas are calling our names. Finally able to cross this place off my "'must-try" list! Came by for a night time snack and boy was it good that we werent too hungry coz the portions, although was enough at that point, was a little smaller than i expected. Snacking would be a good idea here rather than really having a meal. I was still happy with the experience though. There wasnt much tables and chairs yet but when and if they do need to add more, there is still ample space for that. The staff were nice and friendly so thats a plus. As for the much awaited comment about the food, i must say (again) that their soba noodles was a WIN! I would come back for that anytime. Its not just the plain soba noodles. They added some seaweed and "sauce" that just blended so so well! It tasted amazing! The musubi was definitely a good snack too. But next time I'd visit, i'd also like to try musubi bowl thing. I have to say, once Urban Leaf Cafe opened up, it has become a good go-to cafe for me, especially since it satisfies much of my Asian-style cafe cravings! For their bubble tea, I have tried their Taro and Ube Oreo to my satisfaction. The boba itself had a good texture and was prepared well. They also have a nice selection of hot tea, which is good to get if you will be there for a little while to sip on while you are catching up on work or with friends. I have also tried their food, the Spam Masubi and Spam Nori Bowl. The sauces they put on give everything a nice flavor and I feel both dishes are made well and good to have if you are hungry and do not mind eating some spam! My favorite thing to get here and share with friends are their bubble waffles. They offer many different toppings on the bubble waffle and their style definitely rivals ones I have had in NYC (if not this one is better thus far) so it is great that this is so close to where I live. Minimalistic roomy dining room. -3 tables seating 4. -2 high tables sitting 2. -2 sets of low living room style coffee tables surrounded by free chairs and bench. Too low to enjoy your meal on the table. People had to hold their plate/bowl in hand while trying to eat and cut spam with a fork. Spam Nori Bowl: White rice with the typical seasoning in most Japanese households. Spam slice on top of a sheet of seaweed with their "special sauce". Looked very appetizing and well presented but not impressed. People at my table that ordered it loved it. Spam Sliders: Spam slice and cheese on toasted pandesal (filipino bread roll) with their "special sauce". It was yummy... It was spam on pandesal... Never had a spam on pandesal that wasn't yummy. Many friends have informed me about this location. There three flavors that I ordered was: honeydew, taro, and coffee mocha. I requested the honeydew in a slush form while the coffee mocha and taro were simple teas. My favorite was the honeydew because it was very fruity without having an overly strong essence. The taro had an excellent flavor as well. However, I was very excited about the coffee mocha, but it didn't stand up to my expectations. The coffee mocha flavor was very bland and did not taste good with the boba. In conclusion, the location and cafe are lovely.
