An iconic local spot, this was my first time eating at Upper Crust. It's simple, really, walk up, order a GIGANTIC slice, get a soda or a beer, consume, be happy. With a small, but clean with a fun interior, Upper Crusts offers slices that are surprisingly delish! Super crispy crusts and HUGE portions - they have salads and other good eats, but those will be for next time. They have a decent selection of beer on tap - I'll be back to try some of those next time!

I wanted pizza and popped in here after seeing their sign for slice and a drink for $10 ($1 for each additional topping). I did it to go and I got a lice of pepperoni. They have fountain drinks and indoor seating. Parking is in the lot on the side. They have calzones and desserts that I plan to come back and try. They have WiFi and a "pizza of the month" that changes

One slice of pizza!

It's a small building but the pizza is giant! Parking can be difficult to find but you can park in the neighborhood. They were having a $10 special with one slice of pizza and a drink. The pizza was delicious! Service was quick too.

Upper Crust is Over Priced This is the most expensive cheese slice I have ever bought. In Philadelphia I go to Lorenzo's pizza that does a similar style. Lorenzo's pizza cheese slice is larger, has more cheese, better fresh sauce, fresh baked dough and only costs 6.50. Upper crust says the drink is complementary which is just another gimick here. I think that most supermarket bake at home pizzas can be better. Avoid !!!!!!!!

I'd always seen this pizza shop in passing and finally decided to try it out this week. The slices are huge! Unfortunately, I did not feel that the taste and quality matched the portion size. :( I tried their cheese pizza and to me, it seemed as if this was leftover pizza warmed up, definitely not fresh at all. It was unfortunate because I'm sure that it tastes amazing when served freshly made which may be what others have experienced. A bummer having paid $10 a slice. Shop is small on the inside but cute! Service was quick. They say discovery requires experimentation so happy to have another local pizza joint checked off!

I really only go for the one slice of pizza, I'm too poor to be buying anything else there it's honestly not a bad deal, you get a HUGE piece of pizza and a drink for $10, I just wish I didn't have to get a drink. I asked to trade a drink for a topping and they said no Toppings are $1 each and ranch is $1 each so unless you wanna have a realllly expensive piece of pizza, one topping for you.

Barbecue wings was too spicy, dry and hard.

We ordered Pepperoni pizza 3/5 Bbq wings 1/5 Greek salad 2/5 Ranch 5/5 And beers barrio never fails Why was bbq spicy ? It was almost as if we ordered hot. We didn't feel good after eating this and everything over priced for sure ! Probably best thing there is the ranch! Service was good kind lady in the front.

Beers on tap

The Za here is just like the streets of Manhattan. Quick friendly service. Outstanding Za. I've eaten here for 20 years and it never disappoints. Slice and a coke is $10.80. Lots of local beers on tap as well. Dining area is cozy and great street view.

Pizza By The Slice

Came in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick lunch. We walked in and were able to order immediately. Within 10 minutes we were served fresh garlic knots, they had the best garlic flavor that wasn't overwhelming. The flavors really brought out the freshness of the bread. After that our pizza by the slice was brought out. They were massive slices that can easily be shared between two people. I really love a pizza shop that sells by the slice. So much easier to stop in more often and get fresh slice of pizza!! The shop also had big screen tvs on the walls that were showing the football games. We will certainly be back again, so glad we found this place!!

Huge slice and drink for $10.65 (2 toppings). Sept 2023. Not bad but not great, either.

Busy on a Weds 330PM shortly after doors open, after 2 days off, but understand it fills up even own the patio and after tasting you'll know why :) Fine dusted parm topped a zesty house dressed $13 Caesar that was pre-split for sharing. House croutons need more of a blast in that wooded oven to crisp up as they were limp and doughy but still polished off the greens. 4/5* Love me some Mortadella and hard to find on menus even in an Italian Grinder here, so my focus lasered in on Tony Balona $18 with Burrata, smoked mozz (didn't taste any smoke) and pistachio dust (very minimal at center, wah), thick swirls of pistachio pesto and switched red sauce for garlic oil, a thin simple sauce. Pistachio not really noticeable in pesto or dust, I really enjoyed my pie, though its not as complex tasting as you might believe. Dough with it's black blisters definitely shines. 5/5* Hub's Classic Pepperoni $17 was flooded in lil' crispy cups; devoured! Happy Hour Bonus 3-6P weekdays, $2 off Appys incl our Salad. $10 cocktails ($6 off!) and $6 Drafts & house wines. Beechwood Brewing centraholic West Coast IPA 7% ABV, a Golden hoppy entry with med bitter to end, Light body and lasting Creamy head was a great pizza accompaniment, as was a regular vs White Negroni on menu. Had an herbal syrup less bitter front than a typical in your face Campari sip. Service was efficient. Water carafe to table on seating. Sure hope they save the water left over given the constant desert shortage, as we only drank 1/3 due to our ABV glasses. On Penelope return, I'll fight to try the fresh pasta unless the Dough menu punches me into submission again! Haha

Everything was flavorful, our experience would have been better if we were able to get in and out a little quicker.

We were seated right away since it wasn't busy, and things started off simple enough with bread and oil. We asked for parmesan to go with it, and our server seemed unsure how to respond, eventually bringing out packet parm even though fresh was clearly available. Not a huge deal, but we found it odd. A little later, we asked for more bread. The server told us they were out but, "that they could probably make more". . He relayed it to the woman handling bread, who then made more for another table and skipped us entirely. He mentioned it again to her when he saw us looking in their direction. she looked over, and still nothing. It was awkward, since the restaurant is the size of a closet. Once the pizza came, we got up ourselves to ask for more oil and parmesan, since our waiter hadn't come to check back. We got the oil instantly since we brought us the bowl, but no parmesan. At one point my son asked for bread, again, finally it came and the server literally tossed it on the table without a word. We said thank you and he completely ignored all of us. It didn't get any better from there. The bill was dropped on the table without a word either. My husband and I kept looking at each other with confused looks. We turned the bill in with our CC, and once the server returned it, same thing, not a single interaction. We also watched the same server make another table feel like an inconvenience over something as simple as asking for a bottle of Coke instead of a can. The customer ended up backing down just to avoid the hassle. The server then told the guest, "it's fine, I can get it for you!" On top of that, staff were wearing gloves while handling food, but also touching chairs, phones, and other surfaces; kind of defeats the purpose I think? My boys also had a weird interaction with a staff near the bathrooms who was very rude to them and accused them of cutting the line, despite no one waiting. It was very strange. Bottom line: the food is incredible, no question. But the service was so bad it's hard to ignore. Best advice, get it to go and skip the experience inside.

We've had the Caesar salad which is pretty good, but recently tried the Piastra (chilled zucchini noodles in housemade pesto) which was a light and refreshing start to the meal. We also shared the hazelnut gnocchi which was unique, umami and creamy in flavor. For dessert, we shared the panna cotta which is served in a mason jar - great way to end the meal.

After a bit, a customer at the bar greeted us and gave us a tip on how big the slices of pizza were. Soon after, we realized where the menus were, followed by a server at the bar greeting us and giving us information. I was glad for his help, but there was a good whike in between that I feel was a little weird and lacking of service. They have a small indoor seating area where you can also get fountain drinks, as well as an outside covered patio that has a couple ceiling heaters throughout . You order at a window near the bar, then seat yourself. Your food is done brought to you. We attempted to order a couple slices of the specialty pizza, only to be told that the specialty pizzas could only be ordered as a whole pie. So we ordered a 12 inch pizza half company combo and half carnivore. We also got an order of the sweet chili wings . The sweet chili wings were cool, not bad, but also nothing to brag about. The pizza I was actually disappointed in... it reminded me of pizza from the frozen aisle at the grocery store. It was thin and had a crunch at the bottom. I will say that I like my pizza dough, thicker, so that probably affected my opinion of their pizza as well. Glad I tried it, but don't think I will be back.

This is not the kind of pizza you want to carry out. The bottom crust is so thin and delicate, it will wet out in 15 minutes. This is pizza you order and eat on-premises immediately. I ate my pizza in a fashion I have never done before - I broke off a piece of the outside crust to use as a carrier for a piece of filling. This worked well. The crust is perfectly light and airy. I have had Italian chickpea based Farinata before on it's own when I made it at home or inside a delicious sandwich on a connection at the Rome airport and I thought they did a really good job frying the Pannisa here. I also liked the sauce they serve it with here: tart sauce with basil and herbs. I felt the the serving size was small for $8 . I enjoyed trying it here but will probably not get it more than once at that price per serving size. They serve it with cheese typically but I asked for no cheese to make it vegan. The guy that took my order at the window seemed very confused/ weirded out when I asked if they charge a fee to pay with credit card. He generally wasn't very helpful or communicative and seemed generally bothered by questions. He also didn't think to mention they don't have disposable silverware for to go order (my pannisa was drenched in sauce- delicious but I definitely ended up going inside to eat it with a fork). Another staff member seemed more pleasant though and more willing to answer basic questions politely. On another earlier visit I tried their focaccia. It is a sourdough focaccia with roasted red pepper jam, rosemary and garlic. Typically it has ricotta too which I asked to remove. I loved the dough and garlic. The jam was good too, maybe a tad sweet for me though. It reminded me a tad of sweet and sour sauce. They have a margarita pizza without cheese available on the menu too. I didn't try these yet but liked seeing that they served some interesting non alcoholic beverages like cocoa soda with cocoa husk or cola dosa with Guajillo chiles and citrus. From what I tried and seen on the menu it feels that they serve good quality food and drinks. Service can definitely be improved.
