Worst customer service EVER .. I've bought four frames from them so far and trying to return one because of the miscommunication in the sizing. I am currently waiting for a refund that was due back to me as of April 11, 2025. It is currently May 5, 2025 and I'm still waiting. Trying to get somebody on the phone. It's like pulling teeth. They're able to take the money off of your card in second, but to refund your money, has taken 30 days. A classic case of middling quality combined with the type of "fine-print" BS designed to make sure they get one over on their customers - especially since they design their site to be difficult to use and naturally hide said fine print. On top of that, a 25% restocking fee is frankly robbery. They clearly care more about lining their pockets at the expense of their customers than providing good options and customer service. The fact is, they have a few normal frames they produce, and then they "personalize" the foam backboard for whatever college you ask for. This, of course, is worth $500+. Second time ordering from University Frames, and the second time that the frame came with the glass broken due to poor shipping. Instead of going through the headache of repurchasing another diploma frame, buying a glass replacement myself was the quickest and easiest option to fix the problem, and I had asked for a reimbursement for the cost of replacing the broken glass on the damaged product, but the customer service was unwilling to do so. This being my second time receiving a damaged product, and my second time having a poor interaction with customer service, I'd look elsewhere for a diploma frame if I were you. ** Buyer Warning ** My husband purchased a frame from university frames after graduating and less than a year later the frame separated at the corner causing it to fall off the wall. We contacted the customer service number multiple times and was always promised a call back that was never received. Finally, we used a different prompt when calling and got ahold of someone in the CEO's office who said she would check with the production department. after waiting another day for a call back and sending photos via email they said that it was past 60 days that they would not replace it. After speaking with them again she said she would talk to the CEO and have them give us a call. During the purchase my husband put in the code for the offer. Something glitched with the website and the order went through without the promo. He tried calling back three additional times that week, there was no answer and he is not much for leaving a message. At that time, he asked if I could help him with getting the discount applied since he was having no luck with your customer service. When I took over, I tried using your chat first. I filled in all the information and then I received a message that no one was available to help and I should try back later. At this point this was at least our 4th attempt to reach your office. I then tried calling.. No answer! The first time, I did not leave a voicemail. I continued to try to call, finally on June 19th I sent an email and also left a voicemail. Below is the email chain with your customer service. Although at this point, I have talked to several different people, No one has been able to help me. In addition, several times they mentioned that they would call me back and it required me to reach back out and ask for a follow-up. I also have felt that the customer service representatives have been condescending and not helpful. Several times I have been told, if we were to give you a discount we would lose money! I kindly then told them I am not asking for anything special but the discount that was running the week of purchase and has appeared to be running every single week since the order was placed. However, in the last 2 months I've been working to get my school on the available list and have dealt with their horrible customer service. Paid to get the dye up through their graphics department and now that my whole class is ready to order, the website has a glitch and doesn't create the frame correctly. I've tried over 25 times to call every department on their list (from prompt 2 - customer service to prompt 6 - shipping) and no answer plus v/m is full. I've emailed my contact "Candy Munoz" and she doesn't respond. I've also emailed the regular email address and put a request for a callback online. I called and they were closed. They are also closed the next day on 11/19. I called today, when I was off from work. I am in CST so you have to figure the 2 hour time difference as well. They would not honor my 20% off that did not work on the website. And would not honor even the 30% off code that they started running the next day. Very frustrating. We received an email order confirmation and purchase order number and paid in full for the purchase of our daughter's MD frame by credit card. We have not heard from them since. We have no tracking information on the order and are unable to check on the delivery status. We have tried numerous times to contact them by email and phone, leaving our order and contact information and no one has responded to our phone calls or emails. We spent over $160 and have nothing to show for it. They do not even have the decency to contact us with an explanation. This was bought for my son as part of his Christmas gift. He had graduated from UC Berkeley four years prior but was not able to get a frame at that time. I had been searching for quite some time online. In my searching I found University frames, It took days of creating, changing before I was satisfied with what I had chosen and in the price I could afford. I needed to speak with customer service a few times during the creation as it had to be placed by a specific day to get the price and for it to arrive in time. I placed the order with a personal note, after submitting saw where I had made an error, called customer service again with no hesitation they made the corrections. The representatives were extremely nice and helpful . When the frame arrived earlier than expected, I opened the box to insert the diploma and was surprised at the quality. The frame (wood) is beautiful, the colors of the matting suede is wonderful, the emblem was perfect. Having all everything need to hang included is a great plus. The only draw back is access to the matting could be easier than tabs. After a time the tabs can become brittle and can break. But really for one time access this is fine I would definitely send my friends, family or those inquiring on where to purchase a custom frame for diploma to University Frames. Just recieved my diploma frame and I am blown away. The quality is much nicer than I expected and it even came with a leveler and nails to hang it. it was very nicely packaged and the instructions were easy to follow. the quality of the materials is very nice, which i was concerned about since they were by far the cheapest of any website i looked at. Upon ordering, the delivery estimate was 2-3 weeks and it arrived in 3 days! The only thing i was dissapointed by was the lack of my school seal to add to my frame. When i selected my University (UCSB), it said nothing was available. Given this company is based in California like UCSB, I was very surprised by this. It would have been nice to have my school name or seal on the matting, but i would still rather have the frame I ordered here than one of the ridicuously overpriced frames from my school with the seal. Inaccurate shipping timelines and apathetic customer service. When an item says, ships in 3-5 weeks (subject to change), the expectation is around five to six weeks is the longest a customer should wait. I had ordered a frame as a gift for a graduation ceremony six weeks later, assuming it would arrive in time. Now I am being told it is not even in production, I MIGHT get shipping information at the seven week mark, it will not arrive in time for presentation, and if I want to cancel, I have to pay a restocking fee. Even though they are so behind they haven't even started making it yet. They also refused to ship it to a different address due to it being too late for presentation. Their excuse is that this is their busy time of the year, knowing that this happens every year, I suggest that changing shipping information on the website to better reflect the company's capability will save customers heartache when they are relying on you to make a graduation memorable. read more

(a California company) online in Utah and I'm glad I did. They do great work. My basic review: University Frames, Inc. communicates and works with the customer with a similar feel and friendliness of a small business, and they have the efficiency and processes of a large online company like Amazon. I've ordered from this company two or three times because I want a consistent look to the diplomas and certificates I put in my office. Each time University Frames does a great job. I was pleased that they mailed me sample materials that they border the diplomas with. I'm so glad they did because I was leaning to the leather border, but I ended up choosing the felt border after looking at and feeling all of the samples. (All materials were included as a small square sample size in an envelope they mailed me.) Also, they did send me a frame once with a small foreign paper scrap or something in the felt portion of the border frame that I didn't feel comfortable with trying to fix (I'm sure I would make it look worse). It was also fitted to hang landscape, instead of portrait. A little frustrated, I called University Frames. They were very professional and courteous. They apologized and asked me to send the frame back and they fixed it right away and sent me another one that was without the object in the felt and was set to hang portrait. This was an obvious make or break situation with this company and they did the right thing which re-enforced my trust and confidence with them. I was looking at buying a few frames from University Frames. I noticed that they frequently had sales/coupon codes, but did not have one going on when I first looked. The price for the 3 frames I wanted was roughly $960 (not on sale). I came back a few days later and saw that there was now a "Frame Sale" with a coupon code for 15% off. I added the *exact* same 3 frames to my cart and was shocked to see that the price of the frames had dramatically increased to $1,130 in just a few days. Then I applied the 15% dicount code...and guess what the price went down to? $960. I cannot stand deceptive advertising practices like this. University Frames should be ashamed of this kind of price manipulation and buyers should beware that they might be getting fleeced. read more
