I wanted a traditional and ornate golden frame for Our Lady of Sorrows. He brought several options to choose from. He was also able to color match the inlay to the golden frame I chose. For the second painting of the Holy Face of Jesus, he was able to use an antique frame I had with a different painting. The framing was ready to pick up the following week. TIM IS AMAZING and this is easily the best frame shop in all of OC!! I had a weird request for Tim, I called and said I had a disassembled frame (4 pieces of wood) that needed joining and the actual painting and usually when I explain this to other frame shops, they don't really understand but Tim understood exactly what I needed. I wanted the frame joined, and the canvas stretched so that its hangable. From that first phone call, I was rest assured that Tim knew exactly what he was doing, he easily gave me a quote, and when I delivered it to him, he took a look at it, double checked the dimensions, and said he can finish it the next day or if I delivered it earlier he could have even done the same day. I had 3 pictures I needed to have framed. Two were from a recent trip to France, where I had purchased an oil painting and a poster that were both rolled in a protective cylinder container. The other was an old oil painting I already had. Leon Picture Frames was a spot I had driven by several times as well as a friend that uses them and gave me a recommendation. I came in and spoke with Megan, who was very helpful and gave me different ideas for frames and matting related to each picture. I was very happy with the results. I believe the cost was reasonable considering each piece was not a typical frame size that you find in a craft store. We are also looking at replacing all the old hanging pictures in the house with ones that were taken on different vacations and locations that are meaningful to us. PROJECT: I had a very delicate water painting found in my father's keepsake box. This huge, beautiful painting of Peonies was folded into trifold sections had visible folded lines. FIRST MEETING: Took the painting to Leons after reading reviews. Tim the owner greeted me so casually like a neighbor next door. He handled the painting very delicately, and helped pick out the right customization without pressure. I changed the frame selections several times but he was so chill and patient. Since the paper was so delicate and had folding creases, he suggested some options on how to preserve the painting. This man understood the sentimental value of this painting. COST: I can't believe I paid the same price at Michael's for a custom frame I did that is less than half of this size!! Never going back to Michael's. I am such a stingy bargain shopper and thought I had an awesome coupon at Michael's, but Leons pricing is definitely unbeatable! QUALITY: EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT. I could barely see the creases and foldlines! (He did tell me some creases will still be visible) but it was beyond my expectations. Like he ironed it or something. I had an extremely delicate original mexican film poster from the late 1940s. Because of its awkward large size, I simply couldn't just buy any frame expecting it to fit without cutting into the poster itself. After doing a bit of research, I came across Leon Picture Frames solely based on the high reviews. At first, I planned on linen-backing the poster because of its fragile state, however, I had a bad experience linen backing another poster at another place (that's a whole other story.) Long story short, I came to Leon's and explained my situation and what I wanted for the custom framing. The experience was worth it! I was fully informed and we spent about 1/2 an hour going through different kinds of frames, colors and matting. About a week later, I came to pick up my poster and it looked amazing.
