Linda has framed many pieces for us over the last several years, and recently we presented her with a (once) beautiful print. I don't know how a tear is repaired, but it is no longer visible....there was also some color fade in one area and using her artistry, it too has disappeared! Here, can you spot the repairs?

Hidden gem For Sure! The owner, Linda, is so nice and is definitely an expert on framing needs. I purchased some canvases not knowing they would not be mounted. They came rolled up in a tube so I went to Gold Leaf Framing. I was hoping to get them mounted but Linda advised me that would not be a good idea as I would lose too much of the canvas / picture doing that. She suggested I frame them to preserve as much image real estate as possible. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so she framed them in the basic house frame. Is framing inexpensive? NO! But to have an expert frame and make sure it is done correctly and safely so as not to damage your prints/canvases, that's what you pay for. The framing cost way more than what I paid for the canvas prints but it was worth it as they look absolutely beautiful! Side note: I spray painted the frames as they were dark brown and I really wanted the frames to match the rest of that house metal, plus the metallic color brings out the vivid colors & imagery. Why didn't I get them framed with this color in the first place? Because that would have cost more and I just wanted them basic framed so I could color them the way I wanted. Linda did a great job keeping as much of the image as possible! I'm so glad I had them framed by her. Highly recommend if you need your artwork framed professionally.

"Abalone" as framed in a most unusual yet beautiful manner by Linda!

Getting my painting framed last minute for a Laguna Beach gallery was nothing short of a miracle. I come in with a small square canvas (an odd uncommon size) and request a frame job to beat a same day deadline! I have an hour. I was asking the impossible of the owner "Linda." She knew it. I knew it. She had just an hour and it was not going to be a custom fitting (that I should have gotten done long ago), it was going to be an INNOVATIVE how do we do this task. Linda rifled through her frames looking for the odd size (square) and found one larger frame (too big). I did not like the color, so we kept looking. Meanwhile, the hour is bearing down on me for a drop off in Laguna Beach at a gallery. Stupid me for waiting last minute. Not to worry though, as Linda was more than helpful and calming in my crazed mess. We found a frame (larger than the canvas) and matting. It would be a new way of framing with the canvas out (not in)....huh? But Linda had a vision and solution to my problem. God bless her! She got to work to make this work and beat my deadline (I do not recommend last minute orders within an hour's time). We had some glitches along the way, but in the end, I got my painting framed and hit the freeway to beat the "drop off" deadline at the gallery by 12 noon. I cannot say enough about Linda, her expertise, her patience, her strong guidance as I was losing my mind! And the price? VERY VERY reasonable!!! OMG! I paid cash. This is the only place I go for a personable, small town feel and professionalism unrivaled! Cecile

I inherited this painting done by my great grandmother about 100 years ago. I brought it in to see if it needed to be restored. They were kind and told me that I did not need to restore it, as it was in excellent condition. I asked for suggestions on a new frame, and this blue one was suggested. I never would have picked it myself, but it is absolutely perfect. I am so happy with it, and it completely transformed the piece. Thank you!

Beautiful frame.

So Linda was amazing! I had a very interesting request. She was very knowledgeable in framing quilts specifically so that was wonderful! I was nervous it may have some bumps, due to my freemotion sewing style being very textured... but ohhh nooo It's soooo smooth & sharp looking. Completely transformed my artwork to another level. My first time getting my freemotion work framed and I'm absolutely thrilled and excited for future works! Highly recommend!!!

I recently used Gold Leaf Framing for a print that I needed framed, since it was an oddball size a custom frame was my only option. Linda was very helpful, friendly and thorough on the process. The price was very reasonable compared to chain shops that charge more for an inferior product. The service was done very quickly and I am very pleased with the work. Will definitely be coming back.

Gold Leaf Framing is the best. Great work and A++++ customer service. Thank you, Linda! This painting has been in my family for more than 60 years. Back in the mid-fifties, my dad worked part-time at Mission Florists in San Diego. I believe that this painting was part of a mural that had been hanging in the florist shop for several years. Eventually the florists decided to get rid of the mural and my dad obtained it. The artist and date are unknown. The mural once depicted several Southern California Indian maidens lining up to lay flowers at the feet of a presumed Indian princess. The Princess was at the center of the mural and she was bookended by two pairs of maidens approaching from either side. After my dad obtained the painting, he divided it into three parts and had them framed. Eventually the left panel and central panel disappeared. Early this year I decided that I wanted to have it restored and framed because I always loved it. I took it to Gold Leaf Framing & Restoration in Westminster and they did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. Thanks again, Linda.

Michaels can be a hit or miss, but oh boy, I love when it hits…read more I recently stopped by to stock up on event essentials and some crafting supplies. Their Black Friday deals for holiday gear is the absolute best. Festive items are severely discounted, making it the best time of the year to shop for garland and ornaments. Grandma hobbies are also currently trending and Michaels has become our dealer. I've noticed that I'm picking up supplies/a new craft every weekend. Between clay building, hand stitching, sewing materials, it's so great to have a nearby one-stop-shop for all your artsy needs. Pro tip: search coupons in advance. They almost always have a coupon listed online for in-store purchases. Can't wait to check out their new location on Adams!

We came around 11am 12/21 and there was no line. There were self checkouts and multiple people behind the counter. I walked up and asked for balloons, and was met with a very busy employee who told me I needed to wait in line. So I went back, but as people started lining up behind me, I had to repeatedly tell them to go ahead because I was waiting for balloons (specifically one counter/person). I was fed up with that, so I just walked all the way up and stood back. No one helped. The person waiting for balloons to be blown up had been standing there and the Michaels employee blowing up her balloons was doing one balloon, then walking away to help find an item, or help with the pick up orders, then coming back to blow up a single balloon, then rushing away again! In total, she finally bundled up the balloons (a total of 6) and went on her way. That was 20 minutes. Finally, my turn, the balloon lady leaves, and another comes and helps me. Another 1 hour and 10 minutes later, I leave with my 12 balloons. I can't believe how slow the service here is where 90% of customers are doing self checkout. WHAT?! Insanity. It's Christmas time, but the works are slow paced, with no urgency to keep up. Anyways, fast forward to rushing to get back to set up for my son's party... we have the party and by night time, the helium balloons are dragging on the floor, 15 hours later. So in summary, if you want balloons, you have to come the day of, probably wait a couple hours and then by the end of the day, your balloons will have fallen.
