This is one of my favorite places. It's such a versatile spot, you never know what you're going to get. Sometimes it's crowded at the bar when there is about to be a show downstairs, but other times it's not. There is a lot of space with a lot of different moods in each. The regular bartender is always nice, even when it's stressful and busy. Good happy hour deals too. Haven't yet played bocce ball or tried any of the food but it's on my to-do list as I come here often!

Overall rating: 4.6 I've been here a handful of times & just writing a review. Great spot for solo, dates, friends and sometimes the occasional comedian show. I went on a Saturday and it skews a lot younger than I remember, but admittedly the last time I've been was maybe 4 years prior.

This review is for the comedy shows that take place in the basement of Union Hall. They host comedy nights with a low cover and no minimum on food or drinks. Our friend suggested we check out a new show, WAR, starring some SNL folks. We made our way over to the quiet neighborhood. You would never assume a stand up show was being performed at this bocce ball bar. However, if you go towards the back, there are stairs which lead you to the basement. WAR was hilarious. The Moscow Mule was a nice treat ($10 for a small glass) but it did the job. They didn't offer food which I was disappointed with at first. However, after seeing the seating situation, you probably wouldn't want to be holding a platter of poutine anyway. All in all, the night was filled with lots of laughter and a good time.

Phenomenal frozen margs. We loved our bartender, she was great and kept us filled before the comedy show! Burger, chicken sandwich, and fries tasted delicious and came out quickly from kitchen.

Been here multiple times recently for comedy shows downstairs (came for a Jena Friedman set, and then another Ilana Glazer set)...and have to say this along with The Bell House, are my favorite venues in the area (not the biggest fan of Littlefield). The upstairs bar has comfy couches where you can chill and have a conversation, or you can play bocce ball in the back. The place can get pretty busy at times, but the space is large enough to never feel cramped. Downstairs is typically where the shows are at. It's quite small and intimate, so you can get up close to the performers. They have a small bar downstairs, which is convenient so you don't have to go back upstairs for drinks. Love the laid back vibe here, and don't be surprised if you find well known comedians testing out material. Lots of talented local comedians who open here are great - last time there was this comedian with a whole bit about Olmsted (the restaurant, not the architect). Talk about hyper local humor! The guy had me rolling. Because comedians are testing material here, don't be surprised if they lock away your cell phones in these little magnet devices/pouches during the show. Nice chill, bar to hang out at, and a great venue downstairs for checking out your favorite comedians!

"Nachos". Yes the "salsa" is just slices of tomatoes.

Great atmosphere, comfy couches, cool bookshelves and bocce ball. BUT we got "nachos" and instead of salsa it came with slices of tomato. What even is this???

Come here for the bocce ball, the good crowd, and the cozy interior. I always have a blast whenever I'm in the area and at this bar!

Does Union Hall have board games?

If you are DYING to play a board game, you could probably bring (sneak?) a board game into Union Hall. Union Hall features tables between comfortable chairs and sofas.…

If Union Hall does feature these games, I missed them. I've never seen people hopping around there…

As someone who has come to this bar regularly to watch Knicks playoff games, I can confidently say…read moreI will never return after what happened during the NBA Finals last night. What this bar pulled was completely unacceptable. They were openly reserving seats at the bar for certain people while telling everyone else they were unavailable. There was no advertised reservation policy, no advance notice, and no opportunity offered to regular customers. Apparently, the only way to get a seat is to know the owner, know the bartenders, or be part of the inner circle. What made it even worse was that my group had been sitting at the bar, ordering food and drinks starting around 7:30 PM, only to be forced out of our seats at 7:45 PM. The reservation signs on those seats clearly stated they were reserved for 8:15 PM. We were paying customers actively spending money, yet we were removed 30 minutes before the supposed reservation time. That is absolutely egregious behavior. I've worked in sports bars and have owned sports bars in New York City. In all my years in the business, I have never heard of reserving seats directly at the bar--especially during a major sporting event. It goes against everything that makes a sports bar successful. Bar seats have always been first-come, first-served. That's Sports Bar 101. I've spent plenty of money here over the years because it was always a great place to watch big games: good atmosphere, sound on the TVs, and a fun crowd. Unfortunately, last night proved that customer loyalty means absolutely nothing. Regular patrons were treated like second-class citizens while preferred customers received special treatment. For a bar that markets itself as a neighborhood sports destination, this was incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and frankly insulting. If you're planning to watch a major game here, don't assume you'll be treated fairly. Unless you're friends with the right people, don't expect the same experience as everyone else. There are plenty of other sports bars in Brooklyn that understand how to treat customers. After last night, I'll be spending my money there instead. I won't be back, and I certainly won't be recommending this place to anyone. Let's Go Knicks

They had a bunch of collabs with other breweries so their taps were filled with wonderful selection of cool beers. I got here when it opened grabbed a seat at the bar. It also has an outdoor area which I did not get to check out unfortunately. The only downside is, is that there is no food served here. But the upside is that you can get free Pop-corn!
