Overall rating: 4.6 I've been here a handful of times & just writing a review. Great spot for solo, dates, friends and sometimes the occasional comedian show. I went on a Saturday and it skews a lot younger than I remember, but admittedly the last time I've been was maybe 4 years prior.

Phenomenal frozen margs. We loved our bartender, she was great and kept us filled before the comedy show! Burger, chicken sandwich, and fries tasted delicious and came out quickly from kitchen.

This review is for the comedy shows that take place in the basement of Union Hall. They host comedy nights with a low cover and no minimum on food or drinks. Our friend suggested we check out a new show, WAR, starring some SNL folks. We made our way over to the quiet neighborhood. You would never assume a stand up show was being performed at this bocce ball bar. However, if you go towards the back, there are stairs which lead you to the basement. WAR was hilarious. The Moscow Mule was a nice treat ($10 for a small glass) but it did the job. They didn't offer food which I was disappointed with at first. However, after seeing the seating situation, you probably wouldn't want to be holding a platter of poutine anyway. All in all, the night was filled with lots of laughter and a good time.

Been here multiple times recently for comedy shows downstairs (came for a Jena Friedman set, and then another Ilana Glazer set)...and have to say this along with The Bell House, are my favorite venues in the area (not the biggest fan of Littlefield). The upstairs bar has comfy couches where you can chill and have a conversation, or you can play bocce ball in the back. The place can get pretty busy at times, but the space is large enough to never feel cramped. Downstairs is typically where the shows are at. It's quite small and intimate, so you can get up close to the performers. They have a small bar downstairs, which is convenient so you don't have to go back upstairs for drinks. Love the laid back vibe here, and don't be surprised if you find well known comedians testing out material. Lots of talented local comedians who open here are great - last time there was this comedian with a whole bit about Olmsted (the restaurant, not the architect). Talk about hyper local humor! The guy had me rolling. Because comedians are testing material here, don't be surprised if they lock away your cell phones in these little magnet devices/pouches during the show. Nice chill, bar to hang out at, and a great venue downstairs for checking out your favorite comedians!

"Nachos". Yes the "salsa" is just slices of tomatoes.

Great atmosphere, comfy couches, cool bookshelves and bocce ball. BUT we got "nachos" and instead of salsa it came with slices of tomato. What even is this???

Live shows downstairs and very comfortable bar with indoor bocce on the first floor. Union Hall manages to pack a lot into a relatively small area. The downstairs room is small but most of the shows are very high quality. The first floor bar area is filled with couches and comfortable chairs.

The atmosphere is great, the drinks are cold and reasonably priced for the area, and the indoor bocce makes for a great evening.

They had a bunch of collabs with other breweries so their taps were filled with wonderful selection of cool beers. I got here when it opened grabbed a seat at the bar. It also has an outdoor area which I did not get to check out unfortunately. The only downside is, is that there is no food served here. But the upside is that you can get free Pop-corn! Service has always been friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. I can already see myself back there for the next time I'm craving some delicious craft beer!

The energy was more mature which I preferred in a sports bar. Tons of benches, some bar seating and pool tables in the back. Lots of tvs as well, saw all the March Madness games playing. I imagine it would be great for big games. That being said I came to pregame Knicks-Nets and as we got closer to start-time a lot fans came to watch game (very easy walk to Barclays- 10 min walk). The food was solid and service was pretty good. Good beer options, had the happy hour margarita. They are strong! You've been warned.

We were debating between regular wings or smoked and best decision of the night was picking the smoked wings. It was crisp and not too saucy, keeping the wings as the key. Both the steak sandwich and burger were very good and well priced. I wish the burger was bigger though. Service: 5/5 There was only one waitress and one bartender at the time, but service was very quick. We did not have to wait for anything. Ambiance: 5/5 We were looking for a sports bar to eat at before going to the Nets game. Fulton Hall is only few minutes walk from Barclays. It was not crowded at all and was perfect to relax and grab a bite before going to the game.

The venue is pretty spacious they have a back dining area, a big bar when you enter and a full bar upstairs. There's a ton of televisions if you are watching sports as well. They have a pretty deep beer menu which I loved. The food menu is Irish influenced bar bites. We had the wings which were nice and crispy. The center of attention was the waffle fries nachos. You can't go wrong with a potato vehicle to fresh toppings. All and all great fun spot for sports and gatherings. Also this is a melting pot. Various ages, groups, backgrounds, saw a few families. All are welcome. One flaw is St. Patty it appeared that our waiter who was superb was the only one working so it was a bit of chase to close out.

In general, I like the mellow / peaceful vibes of outer borough NYC Irish pubs at lunchtime. McMahon's did not disappoint. Solid buffalo chicken wings & good burger. I am also post fries (I will try one or two of yours, but I don't need an order of fries for myself.), so can't comment on the fries. They also make a mean Caesar salad. The Caesar & buffalo wings are pretty much my metric for all Irish pubs. McMahon's would def be in the upper 50th percentile. There are a bunch of negative reviews for this spot on here for when they are very busy, on Barclays Center game nights and / or weekends. I feel like, if you read between the lines, it's people coming in groups when it's busy acting entitled. The staff at lunch has been nothing but courteous, w/ excellent service. Also, very clean inside, & food was good quality / fresh ingredients. There are almost no Irish pubs in this area open for lunch anymore at all - thank goodness this is a good one!
