Great local place for seafood. The dishes are fresh and have that comfort food quality that is hard to find. read more

I found this place extremely overrated. The menu is straight out of the fifties; everything is either broiled or fried and butter butter everywhere. No blackened anything. Nothing actually healthy anywhere in sight. Very little fish for a seafood place, just flounder, cod, and trout. They seem to specialize in broiled and fried shellfish. As I said, straight out of the fifties. You should definitely check out their menu online before making the trip. read more

No fresh seafood here - don't be fooled by the menu's mention of a lobster tank - there isn't one. Everything is frozen. Food is bland, even the fried stuff is tasteless. Lobster tail was hard rubber. New England clam chowder was inedible gloppy mess. The cole slaw was good. They use plastic and styrofoam plates & the tables are on top of each other. There's also no pier anywhere near the place. read more

We went last Saturday after another restaurant we we were at had a wait over an hour. It was our first time here and we loved it. Seafood was great and service was fast. It's a great casual place, great food and great prices! We will be back!! read more

This place is very easy to miss as where it is located on Route 13. Plus the parking is very limited. But, the food is good and the people are friendly. Their prices are pretty good for what you get. They pretty much have every kind of seafood. There are combo plates that have a little bit of everything. They have fried, baked and steamed. They have many different types of seafood soups. They are very good. They have many sides, corn on the cob, onion rings, hush puppies, potatoes, sea chips which are like sliced potatoes they fry and are so yummy. They do have alcohol. So you can enjoy a mixed drink with dinner. One word that comes to mind here though is small. They are not a huge place and the tables have paper on top of them. But as everyone knows, that place that looks like a dive, has the best food. read more

Heard about this place for awhile, but never stopped in. The other night we we were thinking about expanding our horizon of local favorites, while considering a good seafood restaurant other than the standard Bonefish or Red Lobster, Under the Pier came to mind. Of course we checked reviews in Yelp as part of our selection process - typically 4 stars shouting out good food, reasonable prices, not fancy, and oh - they only take cash. Off we went to visit Under the Pier. It's small, unpretentious, and family-owned and run. Craft paper on bare wood tables, wooden chairs, and knick-knacks and memorabilia right out of maritime Maine or Glouster. MA. The wait staff was warm and friendly. There were four of us. My buddy chose the Manhattan Clam Chowder. clam-laden with veggies and a comfortable level of spice and seasoning. My New England Clam Chowder as thick and creamy with so many clams, you almost couldn't find the potatoes. He followed up with six large shrimp stuffed with crab meet and served with thinly sliced , fried "sea chips" and cole slaw, I had the shrimp in garlic sauce, six large shrimp in a sea of garlic and butter which when the shrimp were gone, I sopped up with saltine crackers. My wife had the crab cake, served again with sea chips and cole slaw. My buddy's wife enjoyed the salmon plate. Honestly good food and lots of it, prepared well in traditional downeast fashion, at a reasonable price, and friendly attentive staff. Who needs a fancy environment when the food is good, plentiful, and reasonably priced. We got a new favorite place. read more

This place is straight out of the 1950's. Although they call themselves a seafood restaurant, their menu is limited to mostly fried or broiled shellfish. They also have flounder, obviously (did I mention 1950?) and a couple of other fish dishes, all equally unappealing. They do not offer any kind of modern seafood dish so if you are looking for blackened tuna or anything else that doesn't taste like melted butter then you are out of luck. Fortunately they also don't have sushi (and if you saw the inside of the place you would understand my relief). This place made its name during Levittown's heyday and hasn't changed since. If you are looking for the most unhealthy seafood that America has to offer then this is your place. read more

This was good food today.... I'm all about enjoying local food joints. Enjoy what ever you do.... love it when the cook is on point

I would select negative rating if possible. Ate oyster stew and fried oysters and was sick for the next three days.

Love this place. Love the "sea chips". Broiled stuffed shrimp is my favorite item on the menu. My husband loves the fish and chips. The seafood is always fresh and cooked to perfection. Never over-cooked. read more

Not sure if I would say it's the best seafood in Bucks County. The crabmeat stuffing is nothing but fillers

This place is overrated. Either the people writing the reviews are limited in the places they've been or they were paid to write a good review. My boyfriend took me here for a birthday dinner in July based on its reviews. I don't even know where to begin, it was small, outdated, hot, not clean, everything was fried etc. Please do yourself a favor and read through the reviews. Sad to say it because I was so looking forward to some decent seafood. Terrible place is an understatement. read more

Old time favorite for fresh broiled or fried fish. Love the sea chips and fisherman feel of the restaurant!

Amazing fresh seafood. If you are looking for fresh seafood and no frills, this is the place. We had the crab legs, shrimp cocktail and fresh fish dish of the day. It was awesome. Especially loved the homemade coleslaw read more

This is a great little spot for seafood. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. Great prices!

3.5 stars but I couldn't quite do 4. I came in on a Friday night, only two tables occupied, so no wait, we picked our seats and were promptly greeted by our waitress for the night. She was nice as I looked over the menu. I had just had the best crab cake ever so I dared not order that, so I opted for beer battered fish n chips, no slaw hush puppies please. The wait wasn't long, thank goodness because it was freezing in there. Looked around it was a no frills, probably mainly a local spot, but they were welcoming to me. Our food arrived, his shrimp looked better than my fish but I didn't pout, lol. I did take some of the fried shrimp though, which was delicious! My fish was ok, I've had better, but I've also had worse, lol. The fries were round like a chip, but thicker.. good, but hard to get salt to attach to them how I wanted. The hush puppies.. now they were delicious! Would I come back yes, definitely will get hush puppies and probably switch to the shrimp. read more

Let me start with this: I have worked in the restaurant industry, I know how it works and what it takes to run. Upon entering the restaurant I tried to put my name in but not one of the 3 waitresses would give me the time of day because they assumed I was with another party. Not sure why since I came in well after them. I was finally able to let them know I was not in their party and that I was a party of 4 adults and one toddler. We were told 15-20 minutes until a table would be cleared for us. We were seated well before that because the waitresses were getting irritated that we were standing in the way. When we were seated the waitress failed to give us menus, a member of my party had to get them. We were also not given silverware at this time. As we were sat another party came in and waited a few minutes before being seated. The waitress came and took our drink order and promptly returned with them. Not o and then collected our food order. The clam Chowder soup tasted terrible and unlike it had ever tasted before. It wasn't even the right color. Do you think the waitress asked us if everything was ok??? Well she didn't We then waited nearly an hour for our food to come out of the kitchen. Remember we're with a toddler, oh and that other party were served and out the door before we even got our food. when we finally got our food we were still without silverware. One person in our party asked for the cod to be replaced with flounder which is normally a $1.00 up charge. Instead she got a lot of batter surrounded by tiny bits of fish scraps. My toddler filled up on crackers and wouldn't eat. I was upset at first then I tried a the rubber ... I mean overcooked shrimp, and saw why he refused to eat it. Everyone's seachips were over burned. Not one time through out the whole meal did our waitress surface to check on us. When we left I saw her smoking a cigarette and arguing with someone on her cell phone. read more

Everything about this first time experience was terrific!!! Our waitress,Doreen, made us feel like long time regulars was attentive and on point. The crab bisque was flavorful and full of crab, and the combo dishes; fried and broiled were fresh and perfectly seasoned. This trip will be the first of many. read more

Growing up in Levittown I remember passing by this place especially when we went to Dairy Delite, but somehow we never remember going. My parents started going here more recently and luckily on my most recent visit home they took me and I am so glad I did. An unassuming place with really good seafood. I had the crab bisque and broiled shrimp and everything was great. Definitely on my list of places to go when I am visiting my parents. read more

LOVE it here. It's not much to look at - the opposite of fancy - but it has great personality. Totally no-stress, relaxed dinner and worth the 45 minute drive up from the city. I always get the broiled scallops, sea chips and hushpuppies; I've never been disappointed. If you save room in your tummy, there's a little soft serve ice cream place next door that's lovely, as well. It's a treat! read more

Real great food and super cool atmosphere. Server was real nice, and for kids - they cut the menu price in half, then add 1.50. Broiled crab cake was the bomb!! Oh oh, and the Hush puppies! read more

This is the best seafood place around the area. Although some stuff is a little pricey it is well worth the money. The lobster is just absolutely mouth watering. I go at least once a week and try something different every time. read more

This place is honestly one of my favorite restaurants in the area. It is the definition of a dive restaurant. everything was truly excellent. From the scallops, to the shrimp, to the flounder. The Crab bisque had a good amount of crab in it. The best thing though is the fried soft shell crab. It rivals anything I ever ate in Maryland. I will become a regular here. read more

Very unassuming hole in the wall. The seafood isn't great but you get what you pay for and this place is def on the cheaper side. We got a lunch platter w fried clams, shrimps, potatoes, fish cake and fried fish. It was under $10 def priced affordably. Service is friendly and fast read more

Great food great service my new secret favorite spot.

Seafood so fresh you think you are at the shore! Friendly wait staff and good prices.

I have been going to Under the Pier for years. It always has delicious food. The prices are low and the service is fast. I agree with the previous review in that you would not want to judge the food by the appearance of the restaurant. This is a place that only locals would know how good it really is. Now that smoking is banned the only improvement the restaurant needs is to take credit cards. But maybe the understated appearance and cash only policy adds to its quirky charm. read more

Could tell this was a spot for the locals as soon as I walked in lol but food was on point. Always wanted to try a soft shell crab sandwich and it was definitely worth the trip! read more

We found this gem by accident one night a few months ago and have been back several times since. The food is delicious!!!! It is hard to find a good, traditional seafood place around us. The service and wait staff are very friendly and very attentive. We love the way they serve individual horseradish servings and oyster crackers. If you have tried it, you definitely should! read more

A Great seafood place!! Only down side is it is very small inside, otherwise an awesome place to eat! Try the Broiled Crab Cakes, they are great! Better off going around 4-5 so there is not a huge crowd though. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Food is excellent! Staff is friendly and always eager to please!

I used to love this restaurant growing up. I went today excited for seafood and everything that we ate tasted like it came straight from a freezer. Disappointed, won't be back read more

I'm only giving this place one star bc the waitress was excellent and the Lobster Bisque was outstanding but unfortunately that's where it stops :-( the seafood tasted like it came directly from the ocean, fried, and put on my plate. Sadly, I won't be back. read more

This place is amazing. Definitely No Frills, but in a nice way, you don't feel unwelcome if your not a regular. This the No Name is Boston, but smaller. Honestly, as good of a crab cake as I have had anywhere, despite being fried. If they are as good grilled, they could be the best I have ever had. Great little place, its not dirty or bad sketchy, but clean, fun sketchy. Am definitely going back. Would get 5 stars, except for the context, by no means is this a 5 star place, but the food is pretty darn good. read more

I love Under the Pier and they are the best when you want something fish-y. The soups here are incredible and I have tried a few sandwiches and they were all equally as good. Pretty solid menu and it is a quaint and quiet dining environment, very laid back. I only wish they weren't cash-only and accepted credit cards. Also that it was easier to get into their parking lot--but that isn't their fault, its the damn Rt 13 construction & road cones that is the problem. read more

The seafood here is really good - well prepared, fresh, decent portions, no frills, good price! The place is clean, despite the look from the road and the service is friendly and efficient. We will be back often. read more

Tasty little seafood shack off Rt 13. Found it right here on Yelp. Looks like it belongs at a marina or shore town. Tables are covered in brown paper and have oyster crackers and horseradish waiting for you when you sit down. The menu is typical seafood fare. Chowders, broiled or fried shellfish and fish. We really enjoyed our fried feast of hushpuppies, New England clam chowder, fried clams, stuffed fried shrimp and broiled flouder. Also make sure to order plenty of sea chips, which are their very good version of sliced french frys. The service was slow but steady. The restaurant served liquor/beer. We went on a weeknight and sat down immediately but it is a small place and probably has a wait on the weekend. We enjoyed our meals and would recommend a visit when your craving seafood. read more

Yet another great meal this past Sunday. The young kitchen staff was somewhat slow however. Everything is fresh and we have never had anything bad. The prices are good also. The wait staff are attentive and pleasant. You have a loyal customer. Thank You read more

A very plain little diveish place with really good seafood. Awesome broiled scallops for 17 bucks !!! I also had the mussels with garlic butter appy and it was nice and fresh n tasty read more

This is a tiny shack, but serves excellent food. Homemade soups. Hand battered seafood. Best fish and chips I've had in ages. Everything seamed to be made from scratch instead of using the frozen stuff that many restaurants use. The place filled up while we were eating, but we never felt rushed to leave. The only negative I had was that they are a cash only business, and have a ATM in the doorway with a $3 surcharge. When you're finished dinner, cross the street to the little ice cream place next door for amazing soft serve. read more
