Decent food for great value., I'd say a solid three for food, but given the portion, price, and service, I give four. Loaded tater tots - tossed/coated with cheese and real bacon bits, instead of just a ladle of cheese on top. Cheesesteak eggrolls - Three large egg rolls cut into halves. Loaded with beef, but I don't think there was quite enough cheese. The spicy ketchup was good. Basil chicken (white wine sauce) with diced tomatoes and angel hair - not the most flavorful, but it could just be the nature of the dish. The chicken tasted freshly prepared. Sometimes it can taste nuked in some other restaurants. I used a spritz of lemon. I took leftovers home and put pecorino romano cheese. Cheese was the key missing ingredient for me. This was a very large portion for less than $19, so I think the meal was worth it. It also comes with soup and garlic bread/dinner rolls. The wedding soup was very very hearty and full of meatballs. I'm used to getting like three or four pieces. Not sure if there was an upcharge (I forgot to look), but even if there was it would have been worth it. Burger and fries - also huge portion and worth the price. It might not be the best, but for what they are charging I think it is very fair. These definitely taste like frozen fries, so do not expect too much. Service and staff were very friendly, despite what some reviews had mentioned. read more

We haven't been here since the new owners took over and although the interior is the same - wow what a difference in the food. We avoided this place in the past Becasue no matter how many times we gave it another try we left disappointed. Stopped by after voting and instead of once cocktail I got a FLIGHT - a WICKED inspired flight! Very very sweet but the presentation was worth it. Our Tuesday night burger specials (only 10 bucks) were cooked perfectly to order. Served with chips or upgrade to fries for up charge. I have a team of 7. I buy lunch each time it's one of their birthdays. The majority of the time they ask for takeout from E house. The food is usually good, not great, but decent. Sandwiches are a little thin w/ meat. I usually will take all the meat and put it on one half and toss the other piece of bread. Fries are solid. Today when ordering online, we ordered for 8 people and there as a $6 charge for using the online ordering option. I would think doing it this way helps as it keeps someone off the phone if calling in. The charge is BS. Then I sent my guys to go pick up the food only to find out our order had been given to door dash. For whatever it's worth this isn't the first time this has happened. My guys waited while a new order was prepared. Not a big deal although an annoying. We also eat in on occasion. The place is a typical bar and grill. It does have a nice, big bar although it's a bit dim and dated. It could use a refresher for sure. The wait staff is always good. Last time we were in there I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I was served a cheeseburger with bbq sauce and an onion ring. Not even close. The server was apologetic and offered to make it right. I don't send food back, I chose to eat it. I hate bbq sauce on burgers. All in E house is fine. The place is a bit farty and could use a refresher to the decor. Only went there to attend the music bingo, which they hold every Wednesday night. The food (a beef au jous) sandwich was alright but not top grade. For the price it should have been better. Kinda shocked i got charged almost $5 for a bottle of beer! And the server never came back after our party (like 14) to see if we needed anything else or how the food was! This was our 1st time, but certainly not our last time, here! We were looking for a new spot for lunch to celebrate my sister's Birthday and it did not disappoint! We all enjoyed our choices. I had the Meltdown burger which was cheesy and delicious, my sister had one of their Taco Tuesday specials which she couldn't even finish and my daughter in law couldn't wait to try their French Onion soup which she enjoyed as well! I know that when there's so many great menu options, and we couldn't decide, that that tells us we'll be back for sure! I really enjoyed this place. Food was great, it was packed, and the staff was very outgoing and accommodating. They have great specials during the week, Mondays are the best, FILET NIGHT!. Well I been told about this place having good food lived in area 37 years never been here finally tried it and here is my experience. First so lost how to get in no real inviting or clearly marked entrance figured it was the front nope side nope back maybe but it's dark no real clue it's the entrance. Dark and dingy inside over crowded seating when busy and the interior very confusing, the menus hard to read since the lighting is poor and the menus have black background and hard to read without cell phone light. Ok now the best part food excellent service excellent speedy friendly attentive but with ease. Wednesday night dinner and music bingo with friends is always a great night. We had a large table and our server Jackie was outstanding. Jackie was very patient and accommodated our every need. Some of us are divas and need lots of attention and she didn't let us down. The side staff was great too. I recently got a message from a friend saying that he was getting take out prime rib from Eddington House. I've been there a few times over the years send was surprised to see I've never Yelped about Eddington House. Based on the text, my family and I decided to go out to dinner. Eddington House in Bensalem reminds me of a real old school camp facility with all the knotty pine and almost Catskills 1950s like. The place has numerous TVs and white Christmas lights abound in the dining area, and all the Cheers regulars in the large bar area. It's a noisy place when full, and tonight it was pretty well packed. They feature Prime Rib regularly and three of four of us got it. I've had it here in the past, too. It's a nice sized piece of meat. It came with soup or salad, and fries, mashed, or baked potato. I had the clam chowder which was quite nice. Wife had a salad which was a typical garden salad. The baked potatoes were well done, and the Prime Rib, although tasty was over temperature. The meal also came with a small portion of mixed vegetables. My kid got a cheesesteak and really liked it a lot. My niece had a grilled cheese which was fully eaten sans crust. The two beers hit the spot, and the mixed electric blue drink was taken off the bill as it was just a huge sugar bomb with hardly any vodka. They also give the table either garlic bread or a mix of garlic and plain bread which also comes with some carrot slices, pickles, and olives. My family and I enjoy Eddington House when we want some decent food and good atmosphere. There's plenty of regulars that come over to watch the sports, play Quizzo, or even listen to music. All staff were friendly and attentive. They all were also wearing masks and constantly cleaning open tables. Most customers remained maskless but were usually eating, but a lot were also just talking and carrying on. It can get boisterous. $105 for four adults and one child plus tip. Food was just ok . I have not been there for awhile and by the way things were and the price changes I knew that they had changed hands. We asked what the soup was that came with the entree and was told of one that was an up grade not the soup of the day and was charge two dollars extra. Nothing stays the same. Not a great experience. Honestly was not sure who our actual server was until 3/4 thru meal. One person took drinks, second checked if we had drink order taken, third brough us menus and eventually took order. Second brought out food. Fourth brough us check. It was a team effort. Food was sub part. Burger came out raw when asked for medium well, sent it back and when it returned it was cooked to death. Look I know sending stuff back is a pain. I try my best to never do it. But if it happens just cook a new burger to the original requested temp. It is not like it was a little less done than I like. It was cold raw ground meat. All they successfully did was convince me to never come back. Pasta dish that was ordered lacked even basic seasoning so was just bland and watery. Garlic wings were swimming in so much butter but we're crispy. Menus had a lot of mark outs mainly because the fries were no longer the default side for sandwiches and burgers and now an additional charge. It wasn't cheap so I am not seeing the appeal of this place since it was really was a sub par experience from all ends. read more

Eddington House down on Hulmeville Road south of Street Road, Bensalem, PA, is a local bar with a decent kitchen and strong following. It is rustic with knotty pine barroom and dining area, and plenty of TVs for the sports contingent. Service is shared among all the floor people, who are collectively friendly and seem always on top of their game. We ordered their signature Reuben on Rye and a Pepperjack Burger from their new large format menu. Sam Adams Winter draft and Coor's Light wet are whistles. $2.50 domestic drafts were greatly appreciated. We watched the Sixers take on the Hornets and end their losing streak by 8. (They really have to work on those turnovers!) Both sammies were very good. The corned beef was sufficiently fatty to have plenty of taste, especially in the mix with melted swiss and Russian dressing pressed into toasted rye. The half pound slider had not been frozen and was served the requested medium finish, with Pepperjack adding some zing and straw onions a pleasant crunch. They had no problem subbing cole slaw for fries, although I sampled them on my beautiful companion's plate and they were crisp and nubby. The only knock on the joint was the loudness of the bar, which circulated throughout due to poor acoustics. Made for challenging conversation at times. Stopped in last Wednesday for lunch with a co worker, did not see recognize any of the employees and had a terrible experience. Solid pub/restaurant in the Bensalem area. Have stopped in here on several occasions over the years and it has never disappointed. The building itself is pretty diverse, you'll see anything from a few regulars just chilling at the bar, a men's softball team drinking at the bar or the bar packed for an Eagles game, go in the back area and you'll see diners enjoying dinner or celebrating a family event in the way back area with a buffet. It's a bit dark and dated, but I've always encountered the nicest people. Quite a few of the employees have been there for years and are very nice. I've even brought my son for meals and they give him a coloring book to keep him entertained. Food wise I've usually stuck to sandwiches or the dinner selections. Their menu is full of solid typical pub/restaurant items. Last visit I went with a chipotle turkey sandwich that was on special and it was on point. Sourdough bread, pepper jack cheese, spicy chipotle sauce and sliced turkey. The prices are average. If your looking for a solid well run place that's been around a long time give the E house a try. read more
