This spot was perfect. My server was nice and fast. She kept it lite and came to check on me a few times. I just needed a quick bite. My hotel was across the street. I lucked out because this was right there. Didn't have to waste time going far. I got their chicken sandwich with Swiss and mushrooms they had as a special. Also got the Caesars salad and hash brown. Checked this out for a family brunch. First things first, expansive brunch and lunch menu with all the usual suspects to some more original like fried chicken benedict and avocado sandwiches. We did have to wait about 20 minutes to be seated but got a large roomie booth. It's a small diner with a diner vibe. Service was adequate and our food came out fairly quickly. They have a great and reasonable kids menu with bacon, pancakes, eggs, grits all for $6.99. The portion was huge and we may have eaten some of it. I tried the Southwestern scramble for $13.99. Highly recommend this place for breakfast. They just added their fall specials, like pumpkin pancakes. My server was great, she was very friendly and efficient. There were lots of patrons in the restaurant on a Sunday before an Eagles game at 9:15am and all of the workers looked to be working very hard and efficiently. My food came out quickly and it was nice and hot and everything was good. I had eggs, sausage links, home fries, and a biscuit in place of toast. The biscuit was definitely homemade and was delicious. I also had a tasty cold brew black coffee. They serve breakfast and lunch all day so even at nine in the morning you could get ribs if you wanted them. They also on the chalkboard have a few things that are not on their menu such as local favorites like scrapple and pork roll. It's a bit more upscale than some diners. To top it off I had two young men who were seated next to me pay my bill anonymously! How kind was that? I ended up tracking them down in the parking lot to thank them and told them that I would pay their kindness forward. I stopped at this diner because it was .4 miles from the hotel that I was staying at. I would definitely recommend it. It's at a small strip mall area so there is a parking lot. read more

Walking in felt like we came into an employee entrance right into the kitchen. I did like the openness of the diner. Bright and nicely decorated. My breakfast was very good. Scrapple,scrambled eggs and toast was done right. The hash browns were perfect. My sons tea order was very nicely done. His shrimp and grits were very soupy. He also said the flavor was off. Service, while nice when there, was very slow. Overall I would think of stopping in again. Just to give it another try. I did enjoy my breakfast. Sadly my sons breakfast was a bust. Food is amazing but the staff is incompetent. I ordered take out and somehow they only gave me one bag , so when i got home there's only half my order. They didn't even have the decency to call me to come back. From my house to the diner is 20 mins. Next time I do take out I'll keep my tip until I get my full order . We stopped at Metro Diner for lunch enroute to NJ. We had some of the best food I have ever tasted in a diner! I enjoyed one of the specials of the day. A Patti melt with Swiss and sautéed onions on toasted rye bread with a side of ultra crispy onion rings. It was so delicious I told our waitress I wanted to kiss the cook! My brother enjoyed the baked potato soup and Chicken Pot Pie which was easily enough for 2 people. He said both were fantastic. My other brother had an enormous club sandwich he had to split in have to fit it into his mouth. He also had the onion rings which obviously was a great hit. Our waitress was very attentive and stopped by often to meet any needs. The diner itself is small but cozy. I really appreciated that the music wasn't so loud that everyone could converse without shouting. I wish I lived nearby, it would be one of my favorite places to go! read more

Stopped by on a rainy Sunday afternoon and I have 0 regrets. A little crowded, but my daughter & I were seated after a brief wait. Our waitress Michaela was a sweetheart and very attentive. My daughter & I both ordered chicken & waffles and I can honestly say I have dined sufficiently!! The 4 pieces of chicken were seasoned and fried to perfection. It tasted like my grandmother's chicken. The Belgian waffle was cut into 4's and topped with powdered sugar and an amazing strawberry butter that tasted like ice cream!!! Then there was the spicy syrup served on the side...OMG!!! This meal was absolutely PERFECT!! For this experience, it was not a good one. I didn't realize there was a piece of plastic in my food until I was chewing it and wondering why I was chewing on it forever. If the piece was smaller, I would have swallowed it ;_; I ordered a fried chicken benedict, and it was found while I was eating that. The food itself was not bad, and the fries were good. I stopped eating though after finding the plastic. It was a carry out order, and the service was okay that day. One of the employee wasn't super attentive, but the person who gave me my order was very friendly. They allowed her to switch out the cheddar(?) with American cheese. My son had the "Fish-n-Chips" with a cup of chili that I ate. Needless to say, the portions were big and generous. So, here are some hacks for y'all: 1) Signup to their newsletter to get a 50% off discount for your first entrée. 2) If you go on a Friday, get a "Fish Fry Friday" special, because the upcharge for either a house, or Caesar salad (or a cup of chili or soup) is, at the time of me writing this review, is only $2 which is about a 50% savings. ***Note: You might notice a little discoloration on the lettuce in the pic of the "Metro Club" that I took. That's because of two reasons... First, the fries, which are hot, that come along with the sandwich, were next to the club. Secondly, this pic was taken twelve-plus hours later... They give you sauce on the side that contains syrup and hot sauce that you dip the fried chicken in and it's a great combo! Also ordered the hazelnut coffee and that was fantastic. Took my Mom here for breakfast yesterday, first time visit. The restaurant itself is huge, plenty of tables, clean rest room. My Mom's scrambled eggs were cold, coffee was lukewarm, and all the food needed salt. I get that maybe they don't season with salt for dietary concerns but just be prepared for that. I appreciate that our food came right out, not long after ordering and our waitress was nice. Overall, I think I'll go back again. When we go to Parx Racing and Casino, this is hands down, our go to spot for breakfast. What a great place, cozy, the service is attentive and super friendly and most of all the food is great. On our last visit my wife went with the San Francisco Benedict, Canadian bacon, sliced avocado and and tomato, two poached eggs that are normally served on an English muffin, topped with creamy Hollandaise sauce. However on this visit our waitress suggested subbing their fantastic home made biscuits for the English muffins and oh boy, were we glad she did, made this already great dish simply amazing. Also can't forget the amazing hash brown potatoes that are served on the side of this dish, which were up there with some of the best we've had. I went with Biscuits & Sausage Gravy, served with two eggs over easy and some more of those amazing hash brown potatoes. Well again, this dish was a home run. The sausage gravy was absolutely fantastic, so flavorful and even better served over their home made biscuits. Can't wait to come here again since I definitely need to try some of their other great menu offerings, especially the Chicken & Waffles.
