New Madison is a popular charming luncheonette that doesn't look like its changed much in decades. I found plenty of parking around breakfast time in the strip mall parking lot, since most of the other businesses were not open. The inside is on the darker side with brick floors and just a few windows at the front letting in some natural light. They have framed pictures hanging on the walls just about everywhere. The counter with stools was a bit tight, but a great spot to sit down and grab a bite. On my latest visit, I sat at a tiny table for two which was fine for flying solo. The booths and tables look much roomier. Food wise I stuck to simple two egg breakfasts. Sunny side up and scrambled with potatoes and I tried the hot sausage which was ground with hot pepper flakes and oil. It was a big portion with the sausage and came to about $14 and change. The eggs, toast and potatoes with no meat was a couple dollars less. Breakfasts included coffee which was a simple diner roast. The staff was friendly and kept stopping over to check on me and keep my coffee topped off. Overall, I liked the ambiance and felt like I had gone back to the 70's-early 80's with the decor and MGK classic rock playing over the speakers. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. After driving by this place for years we decided to stop by for breakfast and glad we did, the food was good and the service was great, our waitress was super nice, the place felt cozy and you can tell they've been around for decades, my only issue is the omelets seemed small even though they said 3 egg omelets it looked more like 2 egg but my wifey loved the home fries, overall we will come back, great neighborhood spot for breakfast/lunch. read more

This restaurant is buried in a strip mall, but it's worth searching it out because the food is great! They are only open until 2:20 pm, so it's a brunch spot for sure. I decided to get the Veggie Lovers Omelet and a side of sausage. When they asked pattie or links, I decided to try pattie. I'm glad I did, because it was some of the best sausage I've ever had! It was crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside and tasted like it was house-made. The home fries that came with my omelet were good, but I should have asked for them to be well-done. I definitely got a lot of food because I couldn't finish it all. My friend got the cinnamon French toast that was on special, and it came with a side of meat. I came in today for some breakfast... And I ended up getting a pork roll and cheese sandwich! A local favorite! My waitress, Kristen, is so nice & friendly. She was very kind to take time and make some recommendations. I love that the radio is playing oldies music Elton John. And a lot of the clientele is older. It's a delightfully mellow place to grab a bite. Families and couples come in to this delightful diner and they have sense 1968. Folks carry-on their quiet conversations. The waitress offers a refill of coffee. I just enjoy this place so much. They should make coffee mugs with the image of the other waitress in a nostalgic manner. I don't know why I feel bad giving this place 3 stars, probably because of the really friendly customer service.....but I'm going to say 3.5 if you actually need more definition. This place is a solid breakfast spot, no frills, just a wholesome breakfast served hot and fresh. I have also come here for lunch, where the grilled chicken parm was given to me on accident and I actually loved it! It came with a surplus of sides (mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, soup and salad) all for only like $11. There is generally no wait for a table and the staff is very friendly. I find this place diffrent then other restaurants. The menu could be updated alittle. Is alot of breakfast to choose from. When you pick from the specials they go by numbers, makes it easier. They are only open till 2:30pm kinda of a bummer. Over all my breakfast was okay. Wouldn't say it was the best but average. Had eggs, bacon, home fries,toast and coffee. And what I notice is what other Restaurants don't do that this one does is they bring the ketchup out with the arrival with your breakfast and notice they refrigerate the ketchup. The New Madison Restaurant sits in an old strip of stores on Vets Highway in Levittown. It is one of several around this part of Bucks County, developed to bring commercial opportunity and convenience to the new "suburbs" being created by Mr. Levitt. As such it is living history. Madison sits in the middle of all this 70 year old Americana. Its interior is in the luncheonette style food dispensary, which adds to its authenticity and comfort. It feels like you could easily sit down with your parents and grandparents at one of the booths for a $.75 meal. Alone, I chose the old fashioned counter where I could alternate between eating, reading and chatting with the staff. Here, that is a special pleasure because all the women were warm and attractive. Christine served me with a smile and friendly banter as sweet as the syrup on my French Toast. Lori was equally engaging, and betrothed to Dean, the owner. I met him when he sat down at the counter to chat with another customer. Cool dude. My breakfast was solid. The coffee flowed freely, and the FT was made of "Texas Toast," well egged and grilled. Even the Turkey Sausage was more than expected (4 links) and good tasting. I asked for a drop of Vanilla in the egg mix, but there was none in the kitchen. Regardless, it still was very good. Stopped in for a quick breakfast with my wonderful wife. I had the sausage and gravy biscuits. Definitely not recommend. Gravy was running with almost no sausage. Biscuits were dry and crunchy. Service was slow and the size of the coffee cup was more of a tea cup. Took forever to get a refill. Also ordered the hot sausage as a side. I went to this great find today for a fantastic breakfast. The staff was very friendly. I ordered eggs Benedict and asked for the home fries to be well done and to add onions. The eggs were perfect. The home fries were excellent as well. I also ordered the split pea soup. It had ham in it. Also, very good! My wife had a sausage and cheese omelette and gave it a rave review. Nice little greasy spoon on Veterans Highway. Service is friendly and to the point. I've been there twice and we've been seated pretty quickly even though the place was packed and the line was sizable. I went with the Greek omelette once and the French toast the next time. Both meals were quite good. Fresh, nicely plated, and well made. The only downside was that the Greek was supposed to have olives but there weren't any. No biggie.
