We visited Uncle G's for an after dinner treat. There is ample outdoor seating as well as indoor seating, but parking seems to be a bit limited since there were cars parked along the sides of the cross streets and their lot was full. We were lucky enough to catch someone pulling out if the lot. We're both peanut butter and sundae people, so we got the Peanut Butter Lover's sundae. It was supposed to come with vanilla soft serve, but we like hard ice cream so we switched it. It came topped with fudge, peanut butter sauce, peanut butter cups AND Reese's pieces, whipped cream and a cherry. I can't say it's my favorite sundae experience I've ever had (considering cost, size, vessel & location) but it was delightful and definitely hit the spot! If it were an evaluation based on purely ingredients, it would win. The location is definitely family friendly and has much space for kids to play. There were kids playing catch with a football that nearly hit me in the back of the head, so that wasn't ideal, but I survived haha. read more

This is one of my favorite spots to get ice cream. They have lots of option with great new sundaes. Their food is good I have tried their mozzarella sticks which were good. We love their dole whip that has a new flavor every week. Their service is fast and very welcoming. One of my favorite things about this place is the location being on the bike path is so nice to bike 2 mile to get to ice cream and bike back 2 miles to get a great ride, walk, or skate board. Hands down the best pumpkin custard in Western NY. It's only here and there in September/October at the end of their season, but I watch for it and make a point of getting it. It's far from their only good thing, but if they had nothing else, I'd go out of my way to come get it. Plus, you cannot beat the amazing location. As their menu states, "if there's something you want that you don't see on our menu, just ask!" We ordered a medium twist custard cone and two 2-scoop cones. The selection is good and varied, but the end product leaves a lot to be desired. The veggie burger I got (and wasted $10.50 on) was not cooked. The outside had grill marks but I've ordered enough veggie burgers to know when one is NOT cooked through...and this one definitely wasn't. When I told a staff member, I was simply told "that's what they look like" and no offer to reheat (really, COOK it) was offered. So my roll with lettuce and tomato was my $10.50 dinner. We were going to order ice cream, but we left instead. This experience left a bad taste for Uncle G's for us and we will not be going back. Uncle G's is so cool! I actually found out about this place from a friend who lives right down the street (his band actually played there last year - yes, they have live music on the patio during the summer!). This place is a pleasant little ice cream stand, with all your basic flavors plus a couple of fantastic sundae creations - take their signature volcano sundae, how more unique can you get? My most recent visit was an adventure stop - they're one of the places on the map for Yelp's Ice Cream adventure, and naturally I had to make my way out here eventually to get my passport stamped! They recently came under new ownership, and I happened to speak to the woman in charge that day (she took my order actually!). We talked a little bit about the Yelp Sundae and how it was her creation; she was super nervous about me ordering it, but I have to say it was pretty delicious! Chocolate ice cream with cookie dough and chocolate chip chunks in it, plus some raspberry sauce and whipped cream - yum yum! I made sure to go back and tell her that it was so tasty! The folks here were very accommodating too - my brother was in the mood for an oreo milkshake, and they were able to make it for him. That combined with my order and my father's small pistachio cone, it all came out to being only $12. I was a little flabbergasted, that's pretty cheap for three people! The trip from the suburbs to Uncle G's is a good one to make, especially on a gorgeous, sunny day. Super, super friendly staff. I had a super fun time here with my friends tonight. Our first time here, I passed by it over the weekend and said I needed to come check it out soon. My friend wanted ice cream so I dragged her and my husband out for some, it seemed like in the middle of no where driving down Townline and Tonawanda creek rd, but the building is huge and you can't miss it! It's under a bit of construction right now. There were about a dozen or more other people there, so you know it's a bit of a hot spot. I'd say the prices were pretty decent. I paid $6.25 for a banana split with hard ice cream (double chocolate instead of pineapple). Uncle G's feels like a family-owned establishment, which may explain why the counter girl was very hospitable and friendly to my friends and I. They offer a menu with a great selection of classics: milkshakes, Perry's custard cones, hearty banana split portions, and my new summer treat favorite: the trash can sundae. Served in a plastic saucer and presented like a whipped pie, this dessert was well worth the $6 and odd change I paid. They pile all of the sweetest fixings on top, and trust me, you'll want to go to town on this sugary overload once it's within grasp. There was a lot of outdoor seating, and that was nice, especially because the other smaller mom and pop places I have come across usually don't provide that many outdoor tables. My only "qualm" is that my friends and I had to sit across from a construction site; next door it looks like they are paving a driveway, and the machinery is roadside and located in front of the picnic tables. That didn't ruin my penchant for the ice cream, however, and for those who wish to keep cool in warmer weather or prefer a better view, there's the option of eating inside. Trust me, Yelpers: sometimes it's worth it to take a little drive to a new (to you) business. I admit, had it not been for Yelp's ice cream adventure in July 2017, I probably wouldn't have ever gone to Uncle G's Ice Cream, much less driven to Pendleton. But luckily, Uncle G's was my last stop on the ice cream tour and worth the quick drive. Coming from the north towns, Uncle G's is a quick drive over the county line. I went on a Sunday evening with one goal in mind: the Yelp special. I knew I'd only have time to try one more, since July was rapidly ending, and based on the pictures from other Yelpers, I decided that I needed to see what was going on in Pendleton. There's a decent amount of parking at the shop, as well as on the side street, so that wasn't an issue. So about that Yelp special... if anyone from Uncle G's is reading this, please put it into rotation on the menu! I'd happily get this one again. The sundae was like a Black Forest cookie: chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips, chocolate and raspberry sauce, and the old standbys of whipped cream and a cherry. It was supposed to have cookie dough too, but I don't think mine did. It's a compliment to the server that I didn't even notice the missing cookie dough, I thought it worked just fine without it. I don't usually go for raspberry sauce, but it complemented the ice cream nicely. Ice cream here is Perry's, so it's not extraordinary, but still good nonetheless. I was intrigued by their volcano sundae, so that may be worth another trip next season, but I'll need help to finish it! The part that I liked best about Uncle G's was the outdoor seating area (which is large) and the live music on the patio. Musicians, take note (so to speak): if you're looking for a small venue to perform at, here's one where you'll draw a large crowd. I saw people with lawn chairs and sitting on their cars, while I parked myself at a picnic table with a crossword puzzle and enjoyed the music that I couldn't see from where I was sitting, but could hear clearly. Since you're also right near Tonawanda Creek, there's a nice path for walking around, and the neighborhood is also a nice walking area if you prefer to ice cream and stroll, as I often do. While Uncle G's isn't the most convenient location, I'd go here again for the music, the customer service, the walkable neighborhood, an unofficial Yelp event, and of course, the ice cream creations! You really never know what you'll find when you go to a new town. read more

Ended up coming here yesterday to continue the Yelp! Ice Cream Challenge. The place has a huge outdoor area with plenty of seating (Sadly the swing was broken). The challenge consisted of chocolate ice cream with chocolate fudge, whipped cream and raspberry syrup (I'll be honest, I did not get the raspberry syrup on mine). After reading some of the other reviews it appears that they just did not put the cookie dough chunks of chocolate chips in mine which was a huge bummer. Now, I enjoyed my ice cream but it wasn't anything special. This place is a basic ice cream parlor that uses Perry's Ice Cream and offers some other options like sundaes and milkshakes. Overall, this is a good ice cream parlor for the people of Pendleton/Lockport but I can't see driving out here again to come back when having so many options in Buffalo. read more

This is my wife's favorite place to go for ice cream. Although the ice cream itself is just Perrys, there is something special about this place. They have a wide variety of options and flavors. They make milkshakes, ice cream cones, magnificent sundaes, blizzards and more! I really enjoy the ice cream sundaes, very very high quality. The cones are very reasonably priced and a decent size. I think what makes this place a little bit different is the atmosphere. It is off of the beaten path and has a nice, relaxed setting. You have a variety of seating options ranging from benches and swings to picnic tables . There's always some music playing in the background that adds to the nice mellow vibe. We stopped by to enjoy some ice cream after our boys had a great football practice. There isn't much room to park if it's a busy night, so you might have to do some walking. (If you're in the mood for ice cream, it's probably a nice day so it shouldn't be an issue to walk!) Right off the bat, one kid had to pee. Really bad. There is a sign that says "outhouse" or "porta-potty" or something of that nature, with an arrow pointing to the side of the building. We followed it all the way around and then realized that there is no restroom of the sort. So we asked at the counter and she let us into the building, which is currently under construction, to use the restroom. Poor kid almost didn't make it! It'll be nice when the construction is finished and guests can walk in to relieve themselves/wash sticky ice cream off hands, etc. Anyway, we let the kids order whichever flavors they wanted. Kid #1 ordered cotton candy ice cream in a bowl. Kid #2 ordered Super Hero in a cone. They both ate every bit! Since Hubby and I normally eat a plant-based diet, we were very happy to see that they have a few non-dairy ice cream options. Two options, I believe. It would be nice to see more! We both ordered the dairy-free cookies & cream in cones. It took them awhile to prepare them because the ice cream was too hard. Must have been in the back of the freezer. I was a little disappointed when the girl shoved them out the window and called loudly "VEGAN COOKIES & CREAM!". We were standing right there. And it annoyed me that she didn't say "dairy-free". Just because someone can't/won't eat dairy doesn't mean they are following a particular lifestyle. Yes, we are plant-based eaters, aka "vegan" if you must, but does it have to be announced? I'm not embarrassed or ashamed of how I eat, but it's like having your dietary or lifestyle choices announced to everyone within earshot. Someone who is lactose intolerant may not be thrilled to be labeled vegan if they aren't. I digress. Long story short- don't label things incorrectly or you may ruffle some feathers. Moving on... The ice cream was prettt good! Two scoops was about all I could handle- any more and it would have been wasted. I'd be impressed with someone who can put away more than that!
