Service is good, but I was let down. Each of my sons had chocolate chip cookies. For $1.75, I expect either a larger cookie or more of them. These were just medium sized cookies. My sons enjoyed them, but I wouldn't buy them again. I had a grasshopper pie. $4.75 seemed like a much more reasonable price relative to the cookies, but the pie itself was very bland. I could taste the barest hint of mint, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the filling was. It had a very empty, artificial quality to it. My sons finished it, and enjoyed it. I had the biggest first world problem last night. This truck was at Larkin Square's Food Truck Tuesday's and I've never tried it, but I didn't want to over stuff myself with dessert, because you see...I planned to work out after the food truck bonanza (never happened). I looked over their menu and at first glance decided that I couldn't possibly allow myself anything on it. All these cakes, chocolates, ice cream (they use Sweet Jenny's from Williamsville) -- no way would they be good for me! I already engulfed like a pound of Thai food for God's sake! Low and behold, my eye spots the word "healthy" on their menu. Eureka! Dare I read closer? "Supernatural Brownie." Is it supernatural because it's healthy? That must be it! Made with something like 87% Dark Chocolate (with healthy antioxidants), this brownie must be the healthiest dessert in all of mankind. I must order it! So I did, along with a cup of coffee (it was the only truck serving warm coffee). Verdict? Each bite was indeed a supernatural explosion of sweet flavors, dopamine and euphoria flooding my brain. I gave a friend a bite and she was equally amazed and commented that "she could taste the butter." Wait. Hold on. This isn't healthy, is it? Damn. I thought..maybe it was? Well, it is. It's healthy for the soul. That's it. Yes. 5 stars for the dessert. 3 stars for the coffee. I'd love to see some Stumptown or artisan-roasted coffee brewed here with a lot of love. If you have a sweet tooth, hunt down this truck. You will be in heaven. I had an AMAZING ice cream sandwich from here at Larkin Square. It was HUGE! I actually wish I could have split it. It was too huge. I recommend splitting one, especially if you're eating more than just the sandwich. Plus it cost $5, but I will say it was very much worth the cost. The cookies were amazing. Chocolate chip... SALTED chocolate chip! When I first saw the granules I thought it was sugar and was annoyed. Sugar on sugar?? Why??? But then I bit into the sandwich and realized the granules were SALT granules. Mmmmm! Salty and sweet and creamy, oh yeah baby! I can state that this was THE BEST ice cream sandwich I have ever had. The Tollhouse Cookie sandwich you can buy at a gas station was my former #1 (those things are delish). MMM! Tonight, I got dinner at the Food Truck Rodeo, and followed my poutine and hot dog with chocolate bread pudding. OH BABY! It was AMAZING! Soft, chocolatey, covered in bourbon caramel sauce (a thin sauce). It was AWESOME. Just note however, if you are a friend of Bill W. you may not want the caramel sauce on your puddin'. It was potent! Tasted like buttery bourbon which is great for some. But if you're trying to keep the plug in the jug, I don't think this will help you in that endeavor. I also tasted the Supernatural Brownie Sundae that my Mom got... OH MAN... It was indeed supernatural! That brownie was deep dark FUDGY amazingness. I am a big supporter of Buffalo street food and the movement as a whole. Some of these food trucks are hit or miss and with that being said, this one is a HIT! I've had the delicious desserts a few times when she was paired with Lloyd Taco Truck and it was nice to have a nice lunch then if I had room snag a dessert. Today I went for one purpose, the peanut butter icebox pie (which is heavenly with every bite), unfortunately she was all out of it and suggested one of her ice cream sammies. It wasn't your typical ice cream sandwich! It was also pretty warm out so my gf and I got the strawberry lemonade which hit the spot on such a beautiful day. I cannot wait to try more of her delightful desserts and try something new every time I go! Keep up the good work! read more

I went to Amherst to try out Lloyd's on my last day of vacation and as an added bonus, Sweet Hearth was there. I checked out their menu while I was waiting for my Lloyd's order and decided to get something to take home with me if I had room left. I am glad I did! The menu had lots of different items so if you wanted something with fruit, or chocolate, or peanut butter, you were set. The service was fast and friendly and the owner was very appreciative of the business and to those who mentioned signing the petition for food trucks in Amherst. It was hard to decide what to try, but I went for the Hummingbird Cake (banana, pecan, pineapple cake with cream cheese frosting). It was $4.75 and I got a HUGE piece of it. If you went to a restaurant and paid that, you would get something about half the size of this slice. I am a baker and am picky when it comes to desserts and rarely buy them because I am usually let down. I was not disappointed at all. The cake was three layers and every bit of the cake was moist and flavorful. I am not a huge frosting person usually as it is often too teeth-achingly sweet and covers up the cake, but the cream cheese frosting was delicate and still had that tang of cream cheese, which it should. I ate every bite of it. The cake was on a sturdy plate and wrapped in foil and was easy for me to drive home with, or I could have ate it standing up. I will definitely keep and eye out for The Sweet Hearth around town and highly recommend it! read more

Came here last night at the Larking Food Truck Rodeo expecting the same, great desserts. What I got was mind blowing Strawberry Shortcake that left me craving more and asking Brad if we can go to the rodeo every week! I am usually not a fan of fruit with my desserts. I especially was never a fan of whipped cream. The Sweet Hearth completely changed my mind to that horrid mindset. Imagine, the largest slice of strawberry cake that appears dense but is so light and fluffy. Top that with the freshest strawberries and fluffiest whipped cream. And then add rich cream cheese on the side. Thus: The Sweet Hearth's Strawberry Shortcake. If you're not a fan of whipped cream, then I would recommend just getting the cake. It all was delicious! I cannot wait to have it again. I would definitely recommend this truck and all of the desserts! read more

My wife and I frequented Food Truck Tuesdays last summer and will do again this year. This truck will be the reason I'll need two workouts a day instead of just one. The food is amazing and the price is just right. A slice of the Hummingbird Cake(this was $4.75 but got bumped to $5.75 this year and is still worth it) is our favorite to share, while the occasionally served Whoopie Scotch Pies($3.50) are my personal favorite. Everything we've had here has been delicious--Bacon Almond Brittle, Sammies (Ice Cream Sandwiches), Bread Pudding, Strawberry Lemonade, all soooo good. Can't wait to try more! read more
