I faintly heard my name and i was standing close to the truck and when I went up I asked if she called my name (as someone who works in service I totally understand rushes and asked politely). I remember my first Lloyd experience - Taste of Buffalo 2015, I had their Krazy Korn and a taco, and my life was changed forever. I'd like to thank the Lloyd Taco trucks for purging my picky eating habits and opening a whole new world of awesome, different foods to me. Lloyd will always have a very special place in my heart. I started following the trucks around after quickly falling in love with their burritos - I'd go anywhere Lloyd went when I was itching for a burrito, even to random parking lots in the middle of winter. I would head out early on a Saturday morning to catch their breakfast burrito special. We'd park by Canalside just to get a pulled pork burrito. I'll bike to a truck if it's close enough, and I have! Not to mention, any public event would suddenly be ten times better when I would see that green truck parked nearby. Needless to say, their food is awesome. You can have a classic taco, burrito, or bowl any way you like it - beef, pork, chicken, beans, no beans, rice, hot/medium/mild, or you can try whatever specials they have available on the truck that day. They typically have some pretty awesome sides as well, like mac & cheese or potato salad. And don't get me started on delicious Jarritos! Their tacos are small, but are only around $2 a pop so you should definitely order so, so many tacos. Or you could just fill up on a loaded burrito (my experience of choice). While my dining partner loves their "crazy corn" with garlic and what not, I have to be honest. Lloyd's is probably one of my least favourite places to eat in the wonderful food mecca of Buffalo. My main 2 problems with it are: (1) I find the food to taste awful. I like real Mexican food, but even this Americanized, bland, Tex-Mex meets Korean-fusion food, can be decent at times (but rarely better). Lloyd's doesn't even taste close to decent in my opinion. (It's also overpriced). (2) It's soooooo insanely overrated. Especially by the growing hipster and millennial culture in Buffalo, which in general has about as much clue about food as, well, I used to when I was a teenager. Which is next to nothing. I can handle people saying this is the best, amazing, etc... just about. I just shake my head. But when they start saying the words authentic and Mexican in relation to this, I get actually annoyed. Just stop. You like a white-owned American taco place which makes cool weird hipster tacos. No problem. You love it. Great. But you do not like a Mexican places and my goodness, you do not like an authentic Mexican place. Cool beans. Literally. Cold really. If you want real (and really good) Mexican food, go to La Divina, go to Valle Of Mexico II, go to Lorenzo's in Albion, Mariachi and Monte Alban (summer only) in Medina. There you have it. 2 reasons I don't give 1 star to these dudes, is that they're pretty friendly (and very rich) guys, and that I have friends that have literally pleased with me to raise my rating. Very good burritos & tacos! They're small so I would recommend ordering 2-3 of them. The fried chicken and waffles is my favorite. The tortilla chips here used to be amazing, but now they're a thick bubbly chip that seems cheaper and more mad produced. My favorites are the tricked out nachos and their huge burritos. You can track the locations on Facebook by following their page. Their quick so even if you see a huge line, you won't have to wait long. The fact that you can get a good amount of food for under $10 is the part I love the most. Well I was super disappointed in this food truck. I saw people ordering burritos and the size of them looked great but I wanted to try the tacos so I ordered two chicken tacos thinking they would've been a decent size, I was wrong. Each taco is 2.99 and for that price I thought they would be pretty big but the picture I took shows 2 small tacos ($6.50) and I was STARVING after. Don't get me wrong, the taste was amazing but the amount you get for the price you pay, I thought was unfair. ok, I officially don't get it. We've been here a number of times. Had the beef and chicken tacos, the tricked out nachos everyone raves about and one special of the day (but I forgot what it was). I do see in some reviews that there is guacamole, but I have not gotten any ever, and don't see it on the menu, so perhaps it is no longer on the menu. I might have enjoyed some of these things more if there had been guacamole. It's ok. Just ok. Granted the price for the tacos is more than reasonable. But the nachos at $6 + overpriced and not that good. In fact, not really all that edible. I just don't get it. Have we been there three times when it's been having an "off" day? Maybe. Twice we found them on Hertel. Once downtown. always for dinner time, perhaps that was the "issue"? Again, I don't get it. I want to like them. I love food trucks and support them worldwide. The insanely long line alone said that I needed to wait, but it would be well worth it. As I stood there patiently, with a sad, empty belly, I caught myself slobbering on my shirt as I heard names called from the truck and watched equally-hungry patrons grab tray after tray of tacos, burritos, and nachos. I want to give this truck a better rating, but I can't. I was given a sizeable gift card from my co workers, because I enjoy a good burrito. I will never find out if Lloyd has a decent burrito because they refused to take my gift card. First, they blamed tech issues, and they did it again the next week. One week ago I tried Lloyd Taco Factory for the first time and it left me craving more and more (and more and more and more) and when I showed up to Barkfest 2017 and saw the Lloyd Taco Truck I immediately got in line for lunch! The menu on the truck is much smaller then in the restaurant (which is expected seeing as how it's a food truck) but still has plenty of great options like tacos, burritos, nachos, and of course the delicious corn. The original best food truck in Buffalo!!! I am lucky enough to have a Lloyd's taco truck come to my local target and be there for when I get out of work! The lines are usually not to bad and everyone working are great people who are always happy to help out! I ordered two el Camino's one with pork and one with chicken. The pork is absolutely amazing being juicy as well as pairing super with pickled onions. The chicken is always spicy and cooked well and the portions you are given are absolutely perfect. I finished with dessert by buying a delicious brownie! All in all the trucks are always on point with the food quality, as well the great service provided every time I go. Everything tasted fresh though, but it was missing something. I don't know what it was but it wasn't there. The rocket sauce had a nice kick to it but doesn't deserve the name rocket sauce. It was more like a paper airplane sauce. It just needed a little bit more red peppers to give it the name rocket sauce. Oh let me tell you about the Aztec brownie. It was REALLY rich and the one serving they sell will last you a few dinners. You really only want to slice a small piece of it because that's al you really need from the brownie. Very very worth it because you can stretch the one piece over many meals. I hope when they come by my office again, they will have a Chicharrones because that crunchy meat with the soft pork makes for one awesome tasting burrito. Over all, I will be coming back for sure. Prior to this, the only "Mexican" food I've ever had was chipotle ... Shame on me! I always only ordered the chipotle bowl so I was a bit bummed out when I saw the menu for llyods taco truck. What's there to say about Lloyd's that hasn't already been said? They started a revolution of food trucks here in Buffalo and there are now dozens of great food trucks. Their excellence goes far beyond their food, but is seen in their commitment to the community and customer service. They are masters at social media and I've been at a few of events catered by them with great success. Amazing guacamole and their burritos and tacos are fantabulous as well. I enjoyed their fish burrito last Friday along with a cup of ginger butternut squash soup -- the burrito was worth standing in line for 20 minutes in the subfreezing wind chill and the soup was savory with little bits of nuts in there for variety. You always see them around the scene in Buffalo and doing great things for the community. I've read some complaints about people waiting in line and not having their minds blown after a long wait, but really -- a burrito is still a burrito no which way you slice it. With our crazy roaming fees, it's sorta difficult as a Canadian to get around the city without the use of data, therefore it's been an unsuccessful task to find your truck. However, on a stop to the Albright-Knox, I spotted you! I was absolutely starving, so I picked up the Pulled Pork + Chicken, my friend got the Braised Beef & Pork Tacos. They were $2.59ea and smallish, but oh so satisfying! I think I would've been good for at least a coupla more hours on those 2 tacos as they also didn't skimp on the meat. As a vegan, I don't see what the big fuss is about Lloyd's. The stewed black bean tacos are nothing to write home about. I got a burrito a couple times and asked them to add tricked out nacho ingredients like the cooked onions, but I was never wowed. It was good and it was fun because they were the only truck in town, but I haven't been back for awhile. I would love to see Lloyd have veggie, tofu, seitan, or TVP on the truck. A nice soyrizo and potato burrito...that would be awesome! They have a Thai tofu taco every once in a blue moon, and it's delicious. The authenticity isn't there, but the flavors definitely are. I would much rather get food from here than Chipotle. I'm constantly looking forward to spotting that bright green truck whether it's at its semi-permanent position of Boulevard Mall's parking lot or if it's at a different location. They offer three proteins and a vegetable alternative in the form of grilled chicken, braised beef, roasted pork, and stewed black beans. On certain days, they offer special proteins such as fish, carne asada, or kahlua pork. They may also offer interesting dishes such as their garlic butter covered Krazy Korn. My usual order consists of two burritos with all the fixings. A typical bill for me is roughly $15-30 cause I tend to order the daily specials too. That's just how good the food is in my opinion.
