I've only ever had the birria tacos but they are deeelish! Cheap yet yummy food. Tons of drink options as well and they even have a small store in the back with Mexican snacks. What's so interesting about this place is that I never went here for the longest time because the one on transit was so terrible. If that was the sequel I avoided the original. It was accidentally after I ordered paid and sat that I realized where I was and what I had done. And I'm glad I did! Tacos were great very tasty and flavorful lots of filling and very fresh. They need fans or air conditioning desperately in the store it was an inferno and quite uncomfortable but otherwise we really enjoyed it! So happy accident and righting a wrong all worked out. Decided to drive out of my way to try some birria tacos for the first time. FYI there is a parking lot out back. That's where we parked. Walking in reminded me of being on vacation because it's not like your standard American place. It was big and also had some groceries that looked all imported. The cashier was very kind! We ordered quickly and our food was ready 10 seconds later! Birria tacos come with a broth to dunk if you like but for me the meat is so juicy I found it unnecessary. The tacos are more fried with a juicy beef (think Barbacoa) with melty, gooey cheese. I ordered 3 but found they sat heavy in my tummy and the 1st two were nice and crisp but by the time I got to the bottom it was soggy from all the juices. I think if I got them again I would order without the broth and have them lined up next to eachother versus on top of one another so they don't get soggy like that. read more

Its a really simple place, you just order the tacos that you want and they're ready pretty quickly. I was maybe waiting for 10 minutes. Birria tacos were amaaaziiinggg. Probably the best i've had. Let me tell you -- the rumors are absolutely true. I was craving Mexican food for dinner and figured I'd give it a shot since it's been on my list forever. Buffalo is severely lacking in the traditional Mexican food scene, so La Divina is a hidden gem. The tacos were delicious -- I preferred the beef as the chicken was a little dry. There were quite a few people inside both on line to order and then waiting for their food but everything seemed to be moving at a decent pace. We ordered 4 different tacos but unfortunately one of the problems with a delayed review is I forgot exactly what they were called. I know there was chicken, shrimp, and cauliflower in 3. What I do remember is they all tasted good but I probably wouldn't order the cauliflower again. Not bad but a bit disappointing. My favorite thing about this place though is the toppings bar. La Divina is legit. I stopped here on a rainy Saturday and entering the store brightened my outlook on the day. I miss Mexico and the last time I was there was in 2015, so this was a nice memory jog. It cheered my up and and I couldn't stop thinking about how much I wanted margaritas on a beach, specifically margaritas on a beach in Tulum. I've driven past La Divina repeatedly, and every time I've said " oh I've got to try that restaurant!" Well I finally did and I'm really glad !! First let me tell you that if you are a Flan lover like I am, not thick Flan or Flan that you eat because its as close as you can get to Flan, but real Flan , they have it !!!! Well they ran out the day I was there because I think I only left two of them. But in any case, they aren't round but other than that, those squares have the lovely dark top ( actually since it's served upside down it's on the bottom ) and the caramelized sugar ( could have browned a tad longer) sauce is the pool for the perfectly creamy texture to sit in, its the perfect bite of Flanny heaven. Now the tacos.... All the tacos I got were the vegetarian tacos and every single one was delicious!!! There was potato and poblano, cauliflower grilled with peppers and onions , zucchini grilled with peppers and onions , crimini mushrooms grilled with peppers and onions. All were served in a double corn tortilla and toppings like sour cream are added but there are more available on a bar at the end of the counter. You can fill to go cups with a variety of toppings from tomato's to grilled poblano peppers, cilantro, various levels of heat sauces and even fresh limes. There are also baked goodies. There's a pig shaped cookie that reminds me of molasses cookies. And a lovely roll that's sweet like Easter bread. I picked up some fun soda that reminded me of the soda flavors from childhood. Tamarind and apple flavors were in this trip. No diet flavors of course but I brought them for other family members and took a sip just for a trip down memory lane. The service was amazing , especially considering how busy it was. The food was all ready in about five maybe eight minutes. The tacos were absolutely delicious. I liked every one of them, and I tried them with various toppings that I picked up from the toppings bar. I actually cut them all in half , two were plenty for a meal because the corn shell was filling. The only thing I can say about the meal is that I was thirsty the whole rest of the day. You know that kind of thirsty that you're still thirsty after you finish drinking something. But it was well worth it because it was all delicious, the service was excellent and the prices were really great. So if you keep driving by and saying " I really should stop there" STOP!! I used to frequent here weekly when I lived in Kenmore and was a 2 minute walk away, but sadly I only get to visit here once in a blue moon these days when I happen to be in the area. It's been about 2 years since I stopped in due to COVID, but they updated some of the stuff inside and redid their storefront window. It looks great! There are still some left over grocery shelves but it looks like they're working on getting rid of them all. The food was great as always, and I recommend taking advantage of the toppings bar - especially the guac dressing. My favorites are the chorizo and Al pastor but you can't go wrong with any. Just wanted to do a quick update as this still remains, years later, one of my favorite places to eat in Buffalo. Being only a few blocks from my house, I stop in often to grab my personal favorites, the quesadilla and the torta. On My most recent visit, I tried a new to me menu item that I've been meaning to get, the birria taco. The meat is slow cooked, the taco shell crisped in the fat from the meat and then it's served with the meats drippings for dipping. If that isn't enough to sell you, I'll tell you right now they are amazing. Writing this right now has me thinking I need to go back for dinner tonight. read more
