No way Jose was decent. The food tasted fresh, and very well-made. There were some minor mistakes in our order, as opposed to what was brought. But it was a Saturday night and they only appeared to have two front-of-house staff so we felt badly asking for anything. I do not believe they currently have a liquor license yet. Not sure if it's something they are pursuing. Like I said, food was extremely tasty.... However, and this is a big however... portions were not reasonable to price. Prices were on the high side of average for a night out, but not uncalled for... portions on adult food were a little smaller than typical, but the food tasted fresh so I gave it a pass. Stopped her on a Saturday night as we were craving some Mexican food. Considering the ratings, we were expecting better. I definitely like the decor of the place, and the staff was friendly. When it came to the food though, the spices were non-existent. We ordered one of their specials, and it tasted like "drunk college food", which makes sense considering the location and the time of day. This particular dish was ground meat with no seasoning, yellow rice, and cheese. I'm sure most would love it after a late fun night, but definitely far from authentic. We had lunch on a Saturday at No Way Jose. There was no problem getting a table, and the service was fast. They offer a standard lunch menu, or you can order from the regular menu. The lunch serving sizes are smaller. In terms of food, the consensus at our table was that the dishes were a little bland. The beans and rice had very little flavor. The enchiladas were fine, but not something that would draw us back. Chile Relanos were the same. The standout dish was their huevos rancheros. For the amount of food and quality, No Way Jose was average. There are a few other Mexican restaurants in the area that we enjoy more. Stopped in for lunch here and was definitely happy with the choice! I really love this little spot. There is only a few tables so it might be a good spot to get takeout if it's busy. Luckily I snagged a table and was able to take it all in. The service here was super quick and very friendly. My server was super knowledgeable and even more helpful when trying to decide what I wanted. I went with a couple of carne asada tacos and then had the chips and salsa that were brought over to the table. The taco bar was well stocked, clean, and had a bunch of options to add onto my tacos which was great. I washed it all down with a pineapple soda, which definitely hit the spot. Went for the lunch specials, but ended up getting one of their house specials instead which was definitely a smart call! I had the El Dorado burrito, which was stuffed with steak, chicken, and shrimp. It came with a side of rice and beans, which were piping hot and also very delicious. I had a pineapple soda as my lunch beverage. Other than that, there's not much to say other than everything was really good and I look forward to returning to try more things on their menu. When it comes to Mexican fare, I'm always game, so I was delighted when I learned that Taqueria El Dorado opened up 5 minutes away from me! We decided to order takeout on a Friday night. Our food was ready in 25 minutes, and it stayed hot well after we got it home. The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious -- the salsa was actually the best I've had from any Mexican restaurant around here. Super flavorful with just a hint of spice. We got guacamole as well, which was delicious of course, and I opted for the chicken fajitas. The portion size was pretty large, and every aspect was so tasty, from the chicken down to the rice and tortillas. I would definitely order from here again. Finally! My wife's a native Buffalonian who convinced me to retire to Buffalo from Arizona almost 3 years ago. (Yes I know it is supposed to be the other way around.) Anyway, we've been truly struggling to find a Mexican style restaurant that satisfies our palate prejudices. And finally, finally we have found one. Taqueria El Dorado is that place for us. My wife had the carnitas. I had the Burrito El Dorado. And our friend had the Burrito Tropical. We all thought we were only going to eat half and take half home. Baaaahahaha! The food arrived. The talking stopped. In between bites there were yummy sounds, big smiles and lots of (this is so good) eye rolls. After consuming about half, one of us said "this is soooo good I can't stop eating it". To which the responses were of course more yummy sounds accompanied by emphatic head nodding. It was so pleasantly ridiculous. I should have taken a photo of all the completely empty plates. I mean clean! But in my defense I was quickly falling into a food coma. I can tell you that at first bite I was pleased but hadn't really got much more than a big chunk of tortilla and some veggies. It was fine. Until then I wasn't really focusing on the meal just the conversation. But bite number 2 included veg, wrap, shrimp, chicken and omg the queso blanco sauce. It was seriously transformative. I had to sit back and concentrate solely on my chewing and the effect the welcoming gymnastics my taste buds were being treated to. It was so much fun. Our guest who had walked from her home to join us had never been there but had "heard good things" was wide eyed and satisfied as well. Giggling about finding such a wonderful place only 2 blocks from where she's lived for over 30 years was pretty cool. Lastly all my wife could say was that she wished she had more. I offered to get her another plate but I got the look that says "yes I want one but you also know that would be ridiculous." I fully understand her nonverbal conversations after so many decades together. So I let it go thinking, that I would have certainly helped her out but I also knew what the next look would say. Good things to know: The restaurant was clean including the bathroom. This is not a big restaurant. I think there's only 6 tables. And maybe 1 or 2 could seat a 6 top. We got there at 4:30 on a Sunday and there was only 1 other table. By 5 they were completely seated. Just say'n They do have the traditional serve yourself salsa and garnish bar. They unfortunately do not have any alcoholic beverages if you were counting on them. We survived just fine. Lastly It's so good, we will happily drive from Derby for our future visits! Sought out a new Mexican spot to try. Settled on this one downtown. Pretty small place, couple booths and a counter at the window is all. Decor was cool. Happened to be Taco Tuesday $2.99 street tacos (went with Carne Asada), lunch specials were super reasonably priced Chimichanga meal and Enchiladas special were $9.99 each! Portion size was good not great. Produce was very fresh. Chips and salsa did not disappoint. Taco bar was fresh and had plenty of options to load up to your liking. FYI the xxhot salsa is as advertised!!! All in all great value and good grub... read more

My POV is from someone who is visiting. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. It's on the smaller side so there isn't a ton of seating but I came around dinner time on Sunday and my friend and I were able to find a seat pretty quickly. The bathroom is nice and clean. Service was fine but the restaurant doesn't have a ton of folks working there, so it did take us a while to order, get our food, etc, but that's only because there weren't a ton of people working. That said, my friend didn't get what she ordered so that was a bit of a bummer...they gave her the wrong type of enchiladas. I got a shrimp taco and a chorizo one. The food was pretty average. I wouldn't go out of my way for it but if you're craving Mexican food it will suffice. The chorizo was really salty, so if too much salt isn't your thing order something else!! read more

Awful! To save a few blocks of travel I tried a new place - Terrible idea. The price online did not match the menu instore or the amount she actually charged me (3 different prices). The food tasted spoiled and sweet (yuk) the chimichanga was the size of 1/2 an egg roll. I called to report it and they would not exchange it and hung up the phone when I asked. Been here twice now and it's definitely getting into my mind as a place to go for dinner on a more regular basis. As a vegetarian, not all foods are for me. But, the poblanos enchiladas here are delicious. And something I haven't seen at other Mexican places in the area. Something that isn't just random veggies thrown into something. The enchilada sauce is quite flavorful as well. And the rice has a great seasoning to it! My friend had the cactus burrito and it exceeded his expectations. I'm not sure I'm into eating cactus, but his review made me intrigued. The owner is really friendly and the staff seem friendly and fun. Incredible! Small little shop with delicious Mexican. All of the sauces at the taco bar are amazing.

It was rustic. toilet paper dispenser held together by bubble wrap, but it was clean. The beans were good (no adverse effects). tacos were good, I liked the little toppings bar, fresh ingredients. But on to the food review, Starting with the taco...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it. I saw people mention it in previous reviews and now I understand why. It was flavorful and the meat was tender. It's definitely on the smaller side but delicious nonetheless . The shrimp in my quesadilla were big and plentiful. I've experienced some quesadillas that had more cheese and peppers than meat, that was not the case here. The rice and beans lacked flavor in my opinion but I'd give it a 3 out of 5. The Fajita's mix was flavorful and tender. This establishment does not have alcohol yet but it's still worth coming to enjoy some good food! It's pretty small inside but the decor is nice and looks authentic. The bathroom is clean and honestly it was one of the nicest bathrooms I've experienced in a small establishment.
