This place is fine. The food was good with a good flavored of beans but the rice was like mush. I really liked the chips but I wasn't a fan of the salsa it had a strange flavor. My family liked their food though. There was not a lot of vegetarian option. It was also kind of expensive. Some of the dishes seemed rushed and the rest of the family left still hungry. Fries were undercooked. I had the Pollo Con Crema which was a good 4.5/5. Rice had great flavor. They have options like Churro waffles and a kids' menu, and when I tell you this drink menu seemed like it never ended !! Unfortunately, they were very understaffed that day, I made reservations for at least 14 people. Our waitress was not only taking orders by herself, but she was also bartending. As you can imagine, orders got messed up multiple times, and a few never came and / or came over very late. Was a bit disappointed with the food here. It lacked flavor and was dry. Most of the dishes needed to be more saucy. We ordered the mucho grande burrito, Tex mex, chimichangas and banderas enchiladas. I'm used to chimichangas being more saucy and cheesy. It was just full of shredded chicken. Even my friend who doesn't like anything exciting with his food called his meal (I believe he had enchiladas) bland. I had the carnitas and felt the same way. Andale has pretty good Mexican food. Their ingredients taste fresh and not overly heavy like many Mexican restaurants. We ordered drinks while we were waiting for our takeout. The skinny margarita was very tasty so don't think you will be missing out on anything if you order it! They gave us free chips & salsa with our drinks. The salsa was a saucy consistency (not chunky), tasty with a bit of a spicy finish. The enchilada dinner came with cheese, beef, bean and chicken enchiladas. All of them were good. Enchiladas were topped with sauce, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. I thought they came with rice and beans but we didn't receive any with our order. Chile relleno was very good as well- Poblano pepper stuffed with cheese and covered with sauce. The service was fast and professional. This is a very cute restaurant. It is small, but they make good use of the space. The staff was incredibly pleasant and attentive. I also saw some of the waitstaff utilize hand sanitizer (multiple times) and it also made me feel like they were being extra responsible. After reading other reviews, I was convinced this was going to be my favorite place for Mexican. Sadly, I don't think I will be returning. I love the space they created and it is great. I liked the vibes. The tortilla chips and salsa were good. We had two helpings of those between the three of us. The waiter was nice, but didn't use a pad and pen to write down what we ordered. I suggest in the future he takes this recommendation because 2 out of the three ordered were wrong. I ordered the 2 combo plate. I selected a chicken taco and a chicken enchilada. It also came with beans and rice. I asked for no cheese. I got cheese on top of everything and had to scrape it off, and flick it out of my taco. My friend asked for rice instead of beans and received beans. With many other Mexican options down the street from this place, you'd think they would be a little more attentive. Location - 5 - very convenient location in East Amherst right on Transit road. It's in a little plaza so parking may be an issue but lucky for me I was able to find a spot right away around 7pm on a Friday night. Interior space - 3 - the place is very tiny inside and felt crowded. We were sat at a small table that barely fit our food. The table was also moved literally 1 1/2" from the other guests next to us. Service - 4 - we had a sweet older woman as the waitress and although she was very kind, she could have been a little quicker. We also had a waiter who came over to us, pulled out his notepad as if he was going to take out order and then said "oh someone will be right here" and then he took the order for the couple who came in after us. Food - 3 - Food was descent. In my opinion is hard to mess up tacos. Salsa and chips were great, and included for free. The guacamole was awful! I thought it was going to be a chunky guacamole with tomatoes and onions mixed in, but it was literally pico de gallo with a sliced avocado on top. There was soooo much lime juice in the bottom that was all I could taste! For $8 I was definitely disappointed. The presentation was beautiful but I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped. Stopped here for lunch today and so glad that we did. The place isn't large but I knew that from being there when it was Chester's. About half the tables were full which wasn't bad for midafternoon. He ordered the taco bowl which I thought was a bit on the small size. Especially considering my lunch was huge (took more than half of it home) and many previous reviews I read also referenced the large serving sizes. I ordered a vegetable fajita, something I never had before but I often order other kinds of fajitas. It was loaded with all kinds of vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower, yellow squash, and carrots, along with the normal assortment of peppers and onions. ( I may have missed some.) The veggies were cooked to perfection and all very flavorful. I loved the way the lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and guacamole were in a mini taco bowl shell rather than just on the plate. The refried beans and rice also had nice flavors. We both ordered iced tea and the waiter came back saying they were out. This was mentioned by someone else so not sure what the deal was with that. The food here was really tasty. Fresh salsa and tortillas to start, and I could have made a meal out of just those. They did a nice combo option for a Monday lunch with an enchilada, a quesadilla, and a cute little avocado salad. The enchilada was definitely the best of the three. A standout option for a vegetarian. They not only had options for the veggie friends, but they were balanced and felt like an adult meal. Bonus! On Mondays they do half price margaritas, which is just extra amazing. I had a Black Cherry Margarita but they had a whole host of interesting flavor combinations that I'd come back to try. My one negative about this place was that there were no less than 5 fruit flies floating in the margarita. My friend's didn't have any so maybe it was the fruit that they used in mine? Normally, I'm not squeamish about that sort of thing, but like... 5? I'm curious how they made it out of the bar area and past the waitress with that many floating in the drink. We went to Andale Lounge to celebrate Easter and my sister's birthday. It is a beautiful restaurant with beautiful people working there. One of them is a lovely lady from Panama who is the sweetest person I have ever met. The service was fast. The "street style" barbacoa torta sandwich was excellent and generously portioned. The margarita pitcher hit the spot. They sang ¡Feliz cumpleaños! to my sister after crowning her with a large sombrero. Everyone left smiling. The one plus side, is there is no wait for a table. We got there around 5:30, left at 7:30 and no one ever had to wait for a table. I have never experienced that before in a Mexican restaurant. The waiter we had did not write down the orders, and I wish he had. Two out of three orders were wrong. I ordered the chimichangas and an enchilada on the side. The chimichangas came with beans, but I asked for rice instead. I received beans. My friend ordered a combo of an enchilada and taco with no cheese. She received cheese. I know we changed the order, but when you repeat it back to us, we expect the food how we order it. The chimichangas were thicker than most places, but tasted the same. Most have shredded chicken, here they had more like shredded chunks of chicken. Still just as good as anywhere else. I have never had an enchilada before this visit. I liked how the red sauce on it had a kick of spice to it, but not sure if I would order another again. I liked the chimichangas and what comes with them so much more. The enchilada had beef and was tasty though. The biggest problem I had was when he took our payments. I paid with a credit card. He set it in front of the cash register and walked away to do drinks at the bar. Before he remembered he even took our payment many people walked past my card or others paid where it was open for them to see (as well as my friend's cash payments). Ordered on the phone and you can order online for pickup or delivery for a fee. I had the combo platter with two enchiladas, a chile relleno, Spanish rice and pinto beans. Good portion and very flavorful. My wife had the taco salad with ground beef and noted it was delicious but a smaller portion than expected.
