For meeeee only...there was a third.

I have to update my review from a few years ago. When we discovered this place near us we were super happy with the prices and ambiance...service was hit and miss. The food was good for the price...that isn't the case anymore. They literally have a seafood soup for $40 a portion...what?? Mexican food is supposed to be humble. An Al pastor torta that used to cost $9 as recently as May of 2025 is now $16. No thanks, it's just not worth that price is all. In less than a year (since May 2025 when we last ordered) they've suddenly nearly doubled their prices for almost every item. If the food had been incredible, I'd be ok paying more...but it isn't. We might still take advantage of their happy hour for drinks...but the food definitely isn't worth it anymore, especially considering the inconsistencies.

We decided to order some takeout on a Saturday night. This place is located right downtown, and since it was Halloween weekend, the area was lively. I appreciated how calm and clean the restaurant itself was, and the staff was generally attentive. The World Series was on TV, so that was entertaining to watch while I waited for my order. Unfortunately, the food was very bland. The meat in my taco was essentially plain ground beef pan-cooked with no spices. As you move farther north from Mexico, the cuisine tends to become less authentic and more subdued to suit local taste buds, but this felt like an extreme case. I might have had a better experience dining in and using their toppings bar (assuming they have one), but as a takeout meal, this was highly disappointing. If you're looking for an authentic, flavorful experience, you might find it here , but that wasn't the case for me with takeout.

We came here one night for dinner since we had to go downtown for something, Matt usually goes with his coworkers to get their burrito which he usually really likes. It wasn't the best burrito this night, my chicken fajitas were pretty good though! One thing I will say is the chips were not salted enough, I had to put the table salt on them and it was still kind of bland. And the guacamole was pretty good, not the best though, I wish it had some cilantro in there. Service was good, very nice waiter and got our food pretty fast.

Went for a quick bit on Cinco de Mayo with friends . It was super packed (as sto be expected) they had a DJ out side which added a nice touch. The line was out the door to sit. There was no host to control or update the line. So my friends went in to ask how long and good thing because there was a party of 8 in front waitnt but they had o0ne tables for smaller parties. So after about 15min in line we were able to get seated right away . Our server was great and as attentive as she could be with it being so crowded. Once we ordered we got things in a good amount of time. We ordered tacos , and there rice and beans. And a couple margaritas to celebrate the day . The food was very basic. I was expecting a lot more flavor. You have to pay extra for sour cream , cheese and of you perfere flour shell is amazing extra $1. With out it the tacos would be super plain. They do have a complimentary topping bar. Where you can add all your favorite toppings and salas. The rice was really dry . The drinks were great . We tried the jalapeño & passion fruit margarita, both were great. They forgot the sugar and salt on the rim. Which is the best part lol. The place is very well decorated to fit the vibe of the restaurant. I honestly don't think I would ever eat there again but a good place for drinks.

Had the chicken quesadilla and was pleasantly surprised--crispy on the outside, juicy and well-seasoned inside. The drinks were just as good, refreshing and well-made. Chill atmosphere and friendly staff made it a great spot to hang out for a bit. Would definitely come back to try more from the menu.

WTF where are the cushions for these chairs? So uncomfortable for us seniors with bone-y butts...big butted individuals didn't seem to have a problem,,,sat for an hour on these iron thrones, went home and got undressed and wife played tic-tac-toe on my ass...

I've loved eating here since before COVID, when they only had their location on Niagara St. Unfortunately, their tacos have just gotten SO expensive. I ordered takeout today and it was $5.20 for ONE Al Pastor taco with no toppings. What!! This is not Manhattan. Before COVID tacos on Niagara St. were $2.50-$3.50. Over $10 for 2 tacos without toppings and before tip is way too expensive. But yes, the tacos tasted great.

The service here was ok. The ambiance is good. The food chicken tacos are ok. The salsa and chips need more salsa ( bigger bowl), but the salsa was good overall. I like how they have a side bar for condiments. At the time of service here NO AlCOHOL being served.

5-star tacos, 5-star service, 5-star salsa, 5-star chips, 5-star ambience (they have a DJ for taco Tuesday and he spun some good tunes!!), 5-star margaritas This place just keeps getting better. The food is fresh - I feel like they make up a fresh batch of salsa about 100 times a day and don't hesitate to order guacamole; it is most definitely fresh made. The corn tortillas are very flavorful and the taco fillings are delicious. The service has always been superb and I love the fun decor and now they have a DJ on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The bar area is not too loud but there is seating in the back which is quieter. My New Year resolution is to go here more often so I can try more items from the menu.

    Pork enchiladas
    Maeve M.

The food here was great and staff was friendly. The guacamole was chunks of avocado which was interesting but it was delicious. The pork in the enchiladas actually had great flavor and there was a ton of it. Portion sizes are huge. Everything was good and very reasonably priced!

    The bill with tip.

A really great value for the money! Food was wonderful. We were greeted quickly and seated. Immediately a drink order was taken and warm homemade tortilla chips and flavorful salsa was plunked down for us to enjoy. We had a frozen and a classic Margarita. Very good. We ordered the Choripollo and the Carne Asada Parrilladas. The Carne Asada came with a side dish of guac, chunks of an interesting flavor cheese and lettuce and warm floyr tortillas. The service was prompt and the server was very attentive and pleasant. With tip the meal came to $66. Without the margaritas the meal would have been a lttle over $40 with tip.

When you walk into the gas station, Tacocat is in the back. The many menu options are on the countertop. I opted for a chicky creama taco and my boyfriend got the chicky buffalo. Neither of us were even close to disappointed and we probably would've had a second visit by now if it wasn't an hour away. My taco was stuffed with shredded chicken breast, cabbage, onion, tomato, cilantro, microgreens and a garlic lime creama sauce... Garlicky deliciousness! I opted to add a medium sauce to mine as well. My boyfriend's came with shredded chicken breast, cheese, wing sauce, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion and he added hot sauce. Next time I am in the Springville area, I will be back to Tacocat!

It's a very casual, no-fuss spot with a few high tables and a bunch of chairs. The colorful furniture, artwork on the walls, and overall hospitable atmosphere make grabbing a quick meal on the spot not a bad idea. We only ordered a few tacos. All were loaded with meat, some onion, and cilantro. We asked for mild and medium-hot salsa, which was served in small, perfectly sized containers. I enjoyed my chicken taco a lot. The double tortilla held everything perfectly. The menu has plenty of interesting options. I'd definitely go back without hesitation. One more thing.
