Poor Service Experience at Spicey Pickle Today, I ordered my food from Spicey Pickle, as I regularly do. My order was placed at 12:00 PM and was scheduled to be ready for pickup at 12:17 PM. I arrived at 12:20 PM, but my order was not ready. After waiting a few minutes, I asked about the status of my order and was simply told that they were busy. I then sat and watched approximately 10 customers go through the line and receive service while my order remained unprepared. I asked whether they intended to serve everyone in line before starting my order, despite the fact that it had been placed 20 minutes earlier and was supposed to be ready by 12:17 PM. Again, the only response I received was that they were busy. Only after the line was cleared and the last four customers had been served did an employee finally prepare my order. I did not leave with my food until approximately 12:40 PM. When I asked if there was a complaint card or a website where I could provide feedback, I was offered a cookie and a drink instead of being given information on how to file a complaint. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but online orders should be handled in a timely manner, especially when customers arrive after the stated pickup time. The lack of communication, the delay in preparing my order, and the inability to provide a way to submit feedback were very disappointing. This experience will definitely make me think twice before returning to Spicey Pickle. read more

We stopped here for lunch after being at Artpark for a book festival. The name sure peaked our interest. Its a small place with limited seating. It was a bit to chilly to sit outside. I saw a lot of prople getting takeout orders. We both ordered the build your own bowl. You had your choice of different prices, greens, proteins, and numerous other topping. My bowl was definitely full! There was no skimping on the toppings and I had enough for 2 meals. The employees were friendly and service was quick. Though I didn't appreciate the number of 'extras' added on to the bill. These were not clearly marked anywhere. We were in Lewiston for a big book festival a Art Park and stopped here for lunch. I got a Built Your Own Bowl. As I traveled along the counter with all the ingredients, I told the person behind the counter what I wanted in the bowl. The price was on their wall menu was $9.82 for a large bowl. Even though the food was good, their deceptive covert upselling left a bad taste in my mouth. All they had to say was "this item and that item had" an up-charge I still, being informed, would have got them anyways. I even asked if things like sour cream costed more, which it didn't. The only thing that was marked more was guacamole. I paid and had to ask for my recipt, this when I saw all the hidden up-charge such as one of the chicken toppings, only identified as "Todays Special" with no up-charge amount displayed anywere nor communicated by the counter person. They just snuck it on the bill by inflating the original bowl price. Then I saw that standard taco toppings like simple salsa were also not marked as costing more but they up-charged anyway. They did not ask me if I wanted a receipt because as part of ther deception is to not voluntarily let you see a receipt showing all the covert up-charge. It was a good thing I said I wanted my receipt, otherwise they would have successfully deceived me. SHAME ON YOU, SPICY PICKLE! I want to make it clear that I have no problems paying more for what I want. Even though it was basically only pennies, it's the principal of it. read more

I love the Spicey Pickle. It's a great little place in Lewiston. It's like a mom-and-pop version of Chipotle. Bowls, burritos, chips and cheese... Today I got the Nooch. It's a huge burrito that costs $11something and it has 2 servings of meat which you can mix and match or get double of the same kind, beans, and whatever other fillings/toppings you'd like. It was massive. I made it a meal with a side (chips and cheese) and a drink and it came to $17.50 before tip. And I always tip. They deserve it. My girlfriend got a bowl and made it a meal. It was her first time there and she loved it. Try them next time you're in Lewiston. You won't be sorry. read more

This place is ok. It's not somewhere I'd be opposed to going again, but also not a place I'm eager to get back to either. I found the food to just be average and something I could easily make at home. It didn't have that authentic feel to it. But it wasn't bad either, just average. I had the 3 pack hard shells ... 2 with ground beef and one with shredded. The shredded had a nice sweet flavor to it. What I loved most about this place was the customer service. Everyone seemed upbeat and friendly and happy to answer questions. The restaurant was clean and they packed our food nicely in to-go containers and we eat ate at Art Park. read more

I really, really, really enjoy The Spicey Pickle. This place is amazing. The options are amazing and I really like that there's a special every day. I usually get the Sharppedo bowl. It's a choice of two meats with lettuce cheese and all the topping you want. On a day when I'm veins dramatic, and I'm "starving," I get the XL bowl, which is basically the same thing but super sized. I really like the flavor of the meat. Something about it feels like taco night at home. It's super familiar but still has a different twist that can only be done here. My fiance and I usually get the special of the day and split it. I'm not always so brave, but he hasn't tried anything he doesn't like. One thing I tried months ago that I still dream about was a corned beef burrito. I know, I know. Sounds crazy, right? But if you just keep it simple and stay true to corned beef, it's really quite delicious. It was specifically done during St. Patrick's day, so I'll have to wait until next year. But I'm sure I'll find other things to enjoy until then. Also, the spicey pickles are top tier. Needed a place to grab a bite after the jet boat tour. Found this spot while driving through the quaint town of Lewiston. A nice local restaurant with fresh ingredients and good food. Almost like a local chipotle, but with better food! The dorito burrito was a hit with my son and my wife. I had a salad that I was able to decide which ingredients I wanted. Very delicious! Such a cute little place. The name is definitely interesting. It stuck out and was definitely the reason I stopped here while visiting Niagara Falls. I ordered a burrito and it was fantastic! I ordered a small shredded beef with white rice, corn, pico, cheese as toppings with pineapple habanero and avocado ranch as two sauces. The shredded beef was so flavorful it honestly didn't need any of the sauces. However the sauces were very good and there was a long list to choose from. I loved the flavor of the burrito and the small was a perfect serving for me! Great place to eat if you are on the go in the area. Very delicious! Did not disappoint AT ALL! Just had lunch with my daughter at the Spicey Pickle and it was fabulous! My daughter ordered the "Pickle Pack" with three soft shell tacos, 2 ground beef, one grilled chicken and lots of toppings (cheese, black beans, pico, jalapeños, sour cream and hot sauce), and a "Nacho Supreme" with ground beef, nacho cheese and the works. I ordered the same "Pickle Pack" soft shells with shredded beef on two, and grilled chicken on one with toppings of cheese, black beans, black olives, Pico, cilantro, and banana peppers with a side of mango habanero sauce. These tacos were over stuffed, and the nachos were LOADED! The total $28. The toppings were crisp and fresh and the meats were nicely seasoned without being overly salty. Everything was phenomenal, but one taco each and we were stuffed. The staff were pleasant, the restaurant was very clean and there are tables outside for dining. read more

Super friendly service, in and outside (socially distanced) seating, lots of free on street parking! The burrito i had was delicious (vegetarian) all the beans, all the veggies and a side of the yummy sweet and spicy pickles! My friends (build your own) burrito bowl was massive (even the small) and full of all the toppings we love. The food was fresh and the ground beef was quite tasty. It was unclear if I could have put their guacamole (which was very tasty) on my burrito without getting it on the side. We came here on a Friday afternoon while we were walking in the village of Lewiston. We liked the name and the restaurant is conveniently located on the main strip. This place is set up similar to a subway or a chipotle. You have a choice between a burrito, tacos, nachos, a bowl, as well as a selection of other sides. My husband had the shredded beef which he said was excellent. My chicken was good as well. They have any options you could want for a burrito and they were all fresh and the appropriate temperate. Both the individuals that served us were kind. They have an option to turn your dish into a meal for around three dollars that includes a side and a drink, guac is extra. If you're there, you have to try the spicy pickle! It may not seem like pickles go in burritos... and maybe they don't, but the pickles have a great flavor and definitely added a little bit of fun to your standard fast Mexican American BYO.
