I had made reservations for a Thursday night and I regret nothing. The place was packed, but not crazy crowded. We were seated in less than 5 minutes upon arrival. Victor was our waiter and he was marvelous. The way he goes from table to table is almost like he has on roller skates. The lighting is like a hue of blue and a little dim, but enough light so you can see the menu. Very casual environment. You can tell folks come in groups and have fun there. Of course I had to start off the night with a margarita! I chose the blue one and it did not disappoint! So yummy! The asada fries were good. I really like their inhouse hot sauce! Flavor and spice and just right. My barbacoa tacos were absolutely delicious! It had everything I needed on all 3 of them. The side of beans and rice were just as delicious! And not to mention that it was birthday so they brought out a giant sombrero, placed it on my head, let me choose my dessert with a sparkler, and sung happy birthday! the only thing I wish was that it was sung in Spanish, but other than that it was awesome. Ate here twice as it was a quick walk from the hotel. The food came out extremely quick and was flavorful. A bit disappointed with the alcoholic drinks (too sweet, and not very much alcohol?), but the non-alcoholic ones were delicious. Loved the 'side salad' with most of the entrees. It was very fresh and lightly dressed and paired well with our choices. I liked it much better than the salsa! As for ambiance the artwork inside is beautiful. However, we were there in the summer and the restaurant opened to the outside. Unfortunately there were quite a few yellow jackets flying around, even inside (to be expected outside.) I used to LOVE this place. I've been many times before.. but after tonight.. I probably will not be back. the food is great, atmosphere is amazing but tonight was a different story. We made a reservation for a high top, came 15 mins early.. the hostess tells us we had to leave the high tops by 6pm (45 mins later?) because of another reservation .. I was so confused and tried to understand that logic because WE also made a reservation but they would NOT allow any later. Now about the service: I am not a fan of breaded fish, but I love all the fixings on the fish tacos, so years ago a waitress there told me to substitute the fish for shrimp! tonight I asked for my usual order of this, and the server I formed me it's not possible, said he asked and the owner refused ? he said they will no longer substitute anything since 2 weeks ago. fine. I ordered something else. my sister and I ordered chicken tacos, first my sister finds a hair in her chicken.. I then find hair in mine... we tell the server and he tells us no women are in the kitchen.... after everything we asked if the restaurant was taken over by new owners or something ? and nope.. just changed rules on food. I'm sad to write this because the place used to be our go to... but since they cannot make tiny changes for their customers and charge full for food after hair was found in both meals.. sadly they've lost a few customers now. read more

This is a restaurant around the Niagara Falls area that is a bit overhyped. Inaccurate wait times and somewhat overpriced tourist trap are main factors for our subpar experience here. We went around 8:30pm (quite late) and were still quoted a 30 min wait which ended up closer to over an hour, which is not acceptable. We would've just dipped for another restaurant but there weren't viable options late on a Sunday, and I guess sunk cost fallacy. The food here is also not too good for such a high price - converting CAD to USD, the dishes here are priced at or above a typical restaurant priced in USD, indicating a tourist trap since the food is just okay. I tried the campechanos and enjoyed the mixed meat, and we got the chimichanga with barbacoa that is fairly huge but not too filling. For dessert, we got the strawberry cheesecake chimichanga that allowed us to be full. We got the 45oz margarita slushed and it was huge enough for 2-3 people to share. Service is just okay - a bit slow, even though most of the tables have left by the time we have seated. Overall, not the best option I presume. read more

This restaurant/bar has a really cool vibe. The decor is very festive celebrating Frida Kahlo and Day of the Dead (although the amount of light inside made reading the menu's a bit difficult). The servers were helpful providing suggestions and explaining the dishes. The taquitos were crispy and flavourful. The chorizo tacos were delicious. The chimichanga was my only disappointment, as it was primarily filled with beans and rice with barely any chicken to be found. The margaritas were close to perfection. read more

Went to this restaurant on a Friday night. There was a line out of the door but we were seated within 5 minutes of waiting. They do not have a kids menu. We ordered the chicken quesadilla for three kids to share. The waitress said the portion was big. It wasn't enough for them to split. I ordered the burrito bowl. The rice had hard pieces , I think I was given the pegao (the overcooked bottom of the rice). I asked the waitress if that was how they serve the rice. She said no and gave me a small amount of rice. It was in a salsa serving dish. It still had hard overcooked rice in it. The steak in my bowl was bland. We also ordered the steak fajitas. The steak was also bland and had no flavor. If you want rice and beans it's extra. I would not return again. The staff were attentive and friendly but the food is over priced and doesn't taste good. Food here was good. We had fajitas. The one we chose had chicken steak and chorizo. $35. It was enough for two people because it also came with beans and rice. But we had to ask for two more wraps. So each person got three big wraps. The place is not real big but it also has outside seating they set us outside but it was super loud The music was to loud. So they put us inside and that was better. The service wasn't the best but it was really busy in there it's right off the beaten path of the Niagara Falls area. But there's free parking in the back parking lot so that was good. The food came hot and it tasted really good so it hit the spot. My sister had a chimichanga with shrimp and she said it was really good. Everybody was pretty friendly and it had a lively atmosphere. The lady's next to us got the $35 margaritas which were huge. We had the best mole of our lives here! Who knew I'd find that in Canada. We came here on a whim when we were walking from our hotel and looking for diner. We were sat outdoors under umbrellas, it was comfortable and staff was attentive. My husband was pleasantly surprised to find Sol beer here, which is his favorite and hard to find. My daughter found a Yelp review for Taco n Tequila as we walked away from our Journey Behind the Falls @ Niagara Falls today. There was no question that we would go there--every other option was a chain restaurant that we see everywhere. We earned our late lunch for sure walking up the hill to TnT from Niagara Falls Park, but it was totally worth it. Although we had to wait for a table on the deck, it was a fun and surprising wait...I learned the legal drinking age in Canada is 19. I sat at the bar with my 20 year old and 24 year old and shared a Margarita flight in red, white, and blue! Lunch was delicious! Fish tacos, chicken tacos, and carne asada tacos, perfectly sized and perfectly unique. We were so happy to sit on the deck and enjoy the sunshine. Taco n Tequila is the place to go in Niagara if you want to avoid the chain restaurants. Called for a reservation and was told we had to book online, which is fine. When we try to book online our party (7 people) it says our party is too big so it says to contact the restaurant. So we call back, now apparently we have to DM them through Instagram to book a reservation??? Not sure why they can't just book over the phone but they lost a customer as a result. We were seated outside in the blazing sun with no shade, even though the restaurant was nearly empty -- including multiple shaded tables. When we politely asked to move to a more comfortable spot, we were told flat out no without any explanation. No flexibility, no apology, just a rude dismissal. It was over 90 degrees, and we were literally sweating at the table. The staff showed zero concern for our comfort, which is especially disappointing considering how empty the place was. At that point, we decided to leave -- if a restaurant can't show basic human decency, it doesn't deserve our business. We came to Taco N Tequila a little less than hour before closing, a bit concerned as several places in the area are rude when you arrive close to closing time. The front desk girls were super accommodating and friendly to our party of five. Our server was Christa, she quickly took out orders and politely clarified questions, helped with menu decisions. She kept coming back to check on our table the entire time. We had steak tacos, enchiladas, quesadilla and chips and salsa. Everything was delicious. Steak was tender and flavorful. I saved this place before heading to Niagara Falls because the reviews were so good. The food was good especially the crispy chicken tacos! The only problem we faced while here was that the bees followed us from the outdoor patios into the inside of the location. One flew into my margarita and when I let the waitress know I needed a new one she brought one out. When we got the bill both margaritas were still on the bill. I understand that I drank 1/2 of the first margarita but it's not my fault that a Yellowjacket flew into my drink when I was sitting inside. I'm a waitress and I know very well that if a Yellowjacket flew into food or someone's drink that we would take it off the bill or give a discount. Visiting Niagara area for work and wanted to get some Mexican food and a few beers to cap off my night. I stumbled upon TnT while searching and I was not disappointed. I sat at the bar and was immediately waited on by one of the available employees. My first round of drinks were at my table within a minute of ordering. Service was great throughout the night. Food was good, I ended up getting tacos with rice and beans which were perfectly filling. The only reason for 4 out of 5 was the pricing. A bit on the high side ($17 for Queso?), but PARTIALLY understandable because of the tourist nature of the area. Had the prices been a bit more agreeable I would give five stars. read more

We went towards the beginning of October and the crowds were much smaller. So, we were able to get in and be seated immediately. The server, Alyssa, was friendly. We were able to order and get our food in a relatively quick manner. The chimichanga and nachos tasted fresh without the overbearing seasonings and spices. I feel bad for the not so good reviews for this place because my boyfriend and I enjoyed the food a lot. We ordered the beef barbacoa nachos, tres carnes fajita and the 45 oz margarita. Yes, you read it right -- 45oz margarita. They were all delicious and tasted fresh! My only complaint is that the margarita did not seem to have alcohol in it. Lowkey bummer. I recommend placing a reservation because they do get very busy. My bf and I went there for dinner and there was a long line outside. Thank god for the reservation because we were seated right away. We had an outdoor seating and the weather was as perfect thankfully. After we placed our drinks order, manager approached us and offered to comp our app if we can move to another table to accommodate a disabled person. We obliged and our appetizer did get comped. Almost didn't get comped though because there was some minor miscommunication between servers and manager about it. No worries though since it was taken care of without any issues. Decor is cute! Bathrooms are downstairs/basement. Gotta warn you that the bathroom stalls are incredibly tight and small. My knees were touching the door as I sat down on the toilet and I'm 5'2.
