I've been arguing with myself about whether or not to write this review as I honestly can't say what the food tastes like. My husband and I decided to give this place a try last night after having looked at the menu and thinking that it sounded really interesting. At around 7:45pm we headed to the restaurant and were seated almost immediately. We were given menus and a drinks menu. We noticed that the restaurant was quite empty, perhaps 30% full. We looked around and saw several servers strolling around. We took a look at the drinks menu and decided that we'd have a couple of cocktails with our appetizers. Then we waited...and waited...and waited. Although many servers walked past us and talked with people at a table only a few feet away, not one person approached us. After almost 15 minutes without even being acknowledged we put our coats on and left. We did tell the host on our way out and he said "oh, sorry" but admittedly we didn't wait to hear what else he had to say as we were fed up. For a new business, which wasn't at all busy and had several servers walking around with nothing to do, I really don't think there was any excuse for this. Had they been busy, then we would of course have understood why someone didn't get to us sooner. We were extremely disappointed and won't be recommending this restaurant. read more

I was here with family. And what a pleasant surprise. We absoultely loved this place. Service was prompt and servers were great. Even the chef came out to meet us. We ordered Elota (Nachos with Corn and cheese dip) to start. We loved the dip. For main course we had grilled vegetable Enchiladas and Qasedilla. I loved both dishes. Especially Enchiladas. It was out of this world. One of the best Enchiladas, I ever had. I am defineitly coming back here every time I come to Niagara Falls. read more

This Restaurant is truly fantastic, a classy restaurant and lounge with great ambiance. I came here for dinner on a Monday evening with three co-workers. We started with several specialty cocktails, they were very delightful, can't recall all the names, one for sure was Cancun Lights. We ordered the Fluatas as an app which were bursting with flavor. For diner we all shared our meals, we tried Barbacoa Tacos, Carne Tacos Mole Mole, and the Fisha. All items were fantastic, so much flavor texture, some spice as well. We definitely left in a very content food coma :) Can't wait to return, perhaps our next visit will be for more fantastic drinks in the lounge ! read more

I don't even know where to begin with the epic train wreck that is "Cabo Cantina". First, no one was at the counter to seat us so we just walked in and sat down. Someone brought us menus, but no drink menu. "What could I get you to drink?" Umm.. how about that menu for starters? Ordered our drinks and food. 30 mins go by and the food arrives. But guess what!? Still no drinks! Also no cutlery to eat said meal... Server apologizes and by the time we got the drinks we had finished our meal! Listening in to other tables it was the same pathetic story. The enchiladas were overwhelmed with lime and the rice was still raw. If I could give this place 0, I would. Couple behind us returned nachos! How the eff do you Eff up nachos!? They got up and left. A server actually tried to sit a group at a dirty table with used napkins and glasses on it! Lmao! What! That table was left dirty for our entire stay. After the hour wait for drinks they still had the gull to charge us for them. One of the servers also mentioned they had a few people "leave us today". So some people quit... can't say I blame them. In our visit we heard 4 separate tables complain. 2 tables just up and left. And 4 different people "helped us". No order what so ever. It's was hilarious how much of a fail this place is as a whole. The food was horrible but the service was worse. My kid's "cheese burger" looked like a hockey puck with burnt cheese (please see picture). The manager said it was because the cooks are working with a new product (lol). The beans were inedible--were bitter and tasted like soap. The manager said he was going to throw out the whole pan. OK but just saw reviews from days earlier with the same complaint about beans. The "fish" in the tacos tasted like overcooked fish sticks. Main dishes arrived before the appetizer which we then cancelled but still showed up on our bill. Waitress took so long with drinks that we had to go searching for her. There was no consideration or even a sincere apology and our bill was wrong. Paid about $72 for the worst dining experience ever. This is a completely honest review so I have to say the live band was nice. Stay away from this place. Trap. read more

Here are the Coles Notes on our experience. - sat down and opened sticky menus which should have caused me to leave immediately - ordered drinks and "table side guacamole" - the mojito tasted like a mixture of cleaning product and simple syrup - I figured that a Mexican place could not screw up a frozen strawberry margarita but they did! The tequila taste was fine but again it was drowned in a sugary mess of flavour and was not frozen... This could have been the ten minute wait to get it... - the table side guacamole came made and the server showed it to us then said she was going to stir it, not exactly table side prep... As we ate, it was evident that it was not stirred enough and the avocado should not have been served as it was well past it's good date.... - then to pay for the garbage food we ordered you had to go inside to use credit... NO STARS!!!!! Please don't waste your money, time, or hunger on the most disappointing and lackluster stomach curtling mexican meal you'll ever have the displeasure of eating. If you have never had Mexican before the food is good. If you have, then you will quickly see through this sham of this place. The margaritas are made with a mix and a small bit of tequila, note the waitress telling us to mix our pitcher. It tasted of pure sour mix. The guacamole? Such a scam... why is it slimey and lacking in taste. I've had plain tofu with better taste then the guacamole. The burrito? Oh wait I'm sorry they call them enchiladas... Ps enchiladas are small and come in corn tortillas baked with cheese and sauce on top.... these were a burrito with sauce on top, whole wheat tortilla with over seasoned meat inside. I usually don't write reviews but after leaving this place I felt like I got robbed. The server greeted us with stale chips. This should Have been a big warning to me. I ordered they're speciality drink el Cabo which was more Like watered down pineapple juice. When it came to the food I got the mar y Tierra tacos. Which were in cold tortillas smothered in sauces that made the tacos bland. My husbands flautas that had a bad taste to them and my daughter chicken tenders and fries that were covered in curry? I don't know of any place that can mess up chicken tenders and fries. Just horrible . We didn't eat the food and paid for the tab. The food is pretty Westernized Mexican, but we didn't go there expecting something "authentic." We just wanted some good food that came relatively fast (we had limited free time) in a less-crowded restaurant at this very touristy location. And that is exactly what we got! Husband ordered the chicken enchiladas (Birdy was unfortunately out) and I ordered the cochinita tacos with mac and cheese and chorizo. Some of the best tacos I've ever had, though I would've liked more vegetables. Mac and cheese and chorizo were awesome, though admittedly it doesn't take much for me to enjoy mac and cheese. :) Husband's enchilada was good as well. Portions were generous but not too much to handle. Server could've been a bit more attentive, but it was not that bad. I will start with the good ( this will be short ) my mixed drink was made well , the outdoor seating was great once they turned down the blasting music , and our waiter was very nice. That's the extent of it. Our food was without a doubt the worst Mexican food we have ever had. I question if it should really be called ' Mexican' food because no where in Mexico ( or the Mexican restaurants in the US ) have I ever had anything like this. The shrimp fajitas consisted of 4 shrimp, 3 tortillas , some peppers, guac, and what i assume was supposed to be sour cream . Don't listen to the bad reviews me and my fiancé were there about a week ago and loved it! Food was amazing. I had a chicken burrito and cotton candy martini! Orders two of the same plate and yet they both were diff. One was missing something the other didn't have and the plate vane with shrimp yet the plate had none. Service was so bad we just wanted to eat and leave so we opted from saying anything. The server was mostly gone and when we asked her a question for something would back back years later. Went here on a whim and it was truly disappointing. The decor is nice. The guacamole was ok but tasted like it had bruschetta mix in it. The chips were SO stale (as noted in many other reviews). I don't even understand how that can be an ongoing problem?! The verdes quesadilla was so boring. It's pretty much the only vegetarian offering. Overpriced & pretty darn bad. Margaritas, guacamole, and tacos. What more can you ask for? We had watermelon and pineapple margaritas. Superb. Then. Guac for two. With corn, mango, and spicy habaneros that come on the side. Honestly I don't even know where to begin. We are Texans, so yes we are picky on our Mexican food. This place doesn't have anything that came close to our expectations. The "tequila tiger shrimp" ended up being 6 tiny pathetic shrimp on a small corn tortilla on a giant plate. The shrimp were still over cooked that they felt like rubber bullets. Canadian law apparently requires that burgers be cooked well done, which explains why the 2 burgers came out like hockey pucks with cheese. Buns not toasted, no lettuce, tomato, or mayo, just some flavorless guac. The fries are covered cayenne pepper for no reason, felt like they had been sitting under a heat lamp to long. They were completely unpalatable. The fajita steak were cut-up dry,chewy bits of beef. This place was way overpriced for what I can say was the worst meal we've had in Niagara Falls. read more

Under new ownership for 2 weeks now. The new owner personally came out and asked every table if everything was ok. He even took orders and also delivered them. I thought the decor was excellent very modern but had a bit of a cantina taste. Order 3 sets of Nachos and they were pretty spot on. Waitress was excellent and so was the entire staff. Earlier today my friends and I were craving for some tacos and we came across this spot. We were seated inside, the place looked great and the service was quite efficient. At the mown the they had house shots for $4. Margaritas, specifically the strawberry was so good! I recommend this place if your looking for a fun drinking spot with great ambience. Terrible Service. The place was empty when we arrived. There were 5 waitresses on. They where slow to seat us. Our waitress was not very pleasant. One star is too much for this place!!! I dont even know where to start.... this place doesnt deserve to be in such a nice area...!!! For starters.... we were not greeted by anyone, we waited 10 mins until someone actually came to attend us which i would understand if the place was packed but the place was basically empty and i had to ask for the menu. After we got the menus the waitress didnt come to our table after another 10-15 mins..... after finally ordering our food and drinks we waited around 20-25 mins for the food which i wouldnt mind if the food wouldve actually being good, but IT WASNT. When the food finally arrived we still had not gotten our drinks yet. When the other waiter approached us i had to ask for our drinks again. What can i say about the food??? My wifes tacos were so bad, the tortillas seemed so old that the tortilla itself started to break apart... and it did not taste fresh at all.... let me remind you that each plate cost around 15 bucks.... and for what we got i can honestly say i feel robbed. My burrito was two small pieces that i finished with two bites which is how small it was ... i dont think the waitress was bad or had a bad attitude but in my opinion they need better customer service and a new cook ...!!!! We waited about 20 minutes to get a waitress to take our order and when it came, most of it was not edible. The enchiladas were burnt black, quesadillas had chicken bones (which the manager explained as being not a negative as they are fresh chicken). The quesadillas were also burnt black as coal. Looked Great from the outside. It was crowded on a Saturday night. We didn't know it had just been open for three days. The menu looked amazing, really delicious. We were fooled. The service was worse than anything I could ever imagine. Whoever the chef is, did not know how to cook authentic Mexican food. The kitchen did not know how to get orders out to the tables in anything that resembled a timely manner. The entire experience was a disaster. The nachos that looked good in presentation were awful. And that was a main course dinner. The shrimp salad was passable but still so so. Another meal at our table never came. We kept asking but we're told the kitchen was backed up. The servers tried really hard. Something is drastically wrong in the kitchen. Restaurant rescue needed. Just soooooooooo bad. I tried this place based off of recommendations from family and friends when I really should have listened to online reviews. Booked a reservation, and we still had to wait around 5 minutes in a very cramped foyer. The person who I think is the manager was very unfriendly. We got seated in a not so great spot (totally age profiling.) We ordered tacos and waited ONE FULL HOUR.... for tacos. To the minute it was 60 minutes. People that were seated after us got their food before us. Any half decent place would have apologized and given us a free app or dessert. Totally unacceptable, we really should have left. The food was definitely not worth the wait. This place has the nerve to automatically tack on an 18% gratuity. Absolutely disgusting practice that we refused.
