Since it was early in the evening, I was able to grab a table right away. The server had greeted me shortly after I found a table. After reviewing the menu, I decided to have a glass of wine and the chicken meal. The wine was delivered about the time the band started to play. The band was really great to listen too. Within 10 minutes or so, the meal was delivered. There were enough fries, but lacking on chicken pieces. The pieces were on the smaller side, however, the chicken was good. Spyce is fine in every sense of the word and is only worth going for the convenience of it. It's located on the main floor of the Hilton, so it's super convenient if you're staying there and are too tired to go elsewhere, while paying a lot for it. The service was good. Friendly and attentive. It felt casual but professional. We were checked up on regularly but it was difficult to order over the loud music. The restaurant itself has a nice lounge feel. They have live music, which is super cool, but is really loud. It really depends what you're looking for but for a very tired family that just wants to get a quick bite before hitting the hay early it wasn't as fun. Spyce has all of the bar staples but doesn't do anything to pull them off exceptionally well. I've tried a few different items that I'll list here. Poutine- the poutine was huge, which was a pleasant surprise. The fries have a crunch to them and holds up to the gravy well. Cheese curds were plentiful and were good. The gravy, however, wasn't as good. It was a lighter gravy and tasted like canned gravy. Wings- well sauced but the wings themselves were dry. Fish and chips- nice big piece of fish but tasted like average fish and chips. Didn't taste freshly battered. Chicken fingers- super dry! My kids weren't a fan and neither was I. Overall, Spyce is fine. The food isn't offensive and if you like live music then you would definitely enjoy it. However, it's pretty pricy for what you get, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're staying at the Hilton and don't want to leave the hotel. read more

What I loved most about our visit was that there was live music on this particular Friday night; they were fantastic! The entire vibe of the restaurant was overall very classy and I would visit again for a drink. I'm doing the keto diet right now, so there wasn't a great deal of options for me to choose from for food, so I opted for the roasted veggie appetizer and I was a little disappointed. When it came out, it looked delightful, however the veggies were so cold as if they were just pulled out of the refrigerator. Hotel lounge restaurant. The food is pretty good, prices are normal for hotel food & tourist area. Food type is pub style food: burgers, sharable plates, alcoholic drinks. But still no dessert! This is the only hotel restaurant/bar with no dessert. Even pubs here in Toronto have dessert. It's pretty common to have dessert after a meal. And some people only want dessert late at night with a nice drink. Anyway, we came as a large group of 10 & they seated us. We didn't get charged gratuity for being a large group. Other places were charging us gratuity on top of the regular food charges. Anyway, they had a live band playing that was pretty good. I think it might've been the same band we saw last year. The music was too loud though, turning down the volume a little would have been nice. Also they seated us right beside the hotel entrance, where all the smokers come out to have a smoke. I'm quite allergic to smoke so it was irritating for me. I don't like second hand smoke. Despite all that the food we had here was good. The ambiance was nice and the band ok. The service was pretty slow exactly on the food coming out. But now I have to tell you about the food. It was Terrible with a very large "T"! My wife had the burger and it didn't have much flavor and was dry. Her potato chips had the most flavor out of the whole meal. I had the nachos and you could tell it was sitting out for a long time and the chips were very stale. I added chicken to it, which I believe it was an additional $8 and it was some of the driest zero flavor chicken I've ever had. I mean, you could have at least put a little bit of salt or something on it. My wife and I spent all day flying up from Orlando and driving from Buffalo so we were kind of tired and hungry and yet this food was still terrible. Came here for a bachelorette party on a Friday Night. There was another bachelor party going on so the place was pretty busy, but we managed to find a empty high table. However, there was not enough chairs so some of us had to stand. The waiter was extremely helpful and moved the chairs for us right when he spotted that they were available There was live music (the lady who was singing was really good!) and we loved the drinks too (got some cocktails and shots) The tater tots ($10) was one of the highlight of our night and we are still talking about how good these tater tots are whenever we mention the party! The gravy were super hot when it came and the tater tots were crunchy and seasoned well (not too salty) At the end we asked for hot water as the bride-to-be drank a little bit too much. We were totally surprised that they gave us the water in paper coffee cups with the SLEEVES on. Extra points for being so considerate FYI, Washroom is outside at the lobby and you have to get up a few stairs. This lovely little place saved our buts while visiting from the states. When your tired after a day of walking all over Niagara Falls sometime you just want an easy to access restaurant with a drink. Space was perfect. The first night we stopped in for a few drinks. The second we tried some food. The highlight was some fresh poutine! This was my first experience with poutine and I was not disappointed! Who knew gravy, fries and cheese would be so good! The vibe of Spyce is wonderful. They opened the side windows so you could watch the hustle and bustle of the life outside. Great people watching. The staff was also super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. This is a classic throw-away bar space. You just know they'll chuck the furniture & decor in a few years & rebrand with another misspelled attempt at being trendy. It's a pretty inoffensive space, with a half-hearted club/bar feel & sports on the TV. Staff was... pushy. They were in a hurry to turn tables, despite it not being busy. The food was mediocre. In fact, the Mediterranean plate consists of three dips that I'm certain are President's Choice. At least it wasn't outrageously priced. Speaking of price, they have no qualms about flat out lying about the local tourist tax, refusing to remove it and claiming that all diners must pay it. Beware. We waited for 45 minutes then the waitress told us that there was a new chef in the kitchen and she did not know when the food would come out and let me just say she could not have cared less. My boyfriend and I went to Niagara Falls for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Our first night we stopped here for some drinks. I was impressed. We sat right at the bar and were attended to right away. Our server also kept checking in on us even though it was extremely busy and crowded. She definitely knew how to work the bar.
