ON A COOKIE CONE!!! (Wouldn't waste your money)
Lauren S.

You can't go wrong with ice cream. This place serves Perry's hard ice cream, the typical soft serve options of chocolate, vanilla and twist, a million different sundaes, blizzards, etc. They have every type of ice cream type item you could ever want. I would suggest avoiding the "specialty cones" which are made of different types of cookies... They are store bought and taste like cardboard. A waste of money for sure. Plenty of parking available, about 6 tables and other places to sit, plus you have some awesome mini golf next door!

Strawberry Cheesecake Parfait

The strawberry cheesecake parfait was delicious! The ice cream was so creamy. My fiancé got the cotton candy flurry and he loved it. The service was quick and easy. Highly recommend!

Met my sister and niece here for a quick snack. We ordered three different sundaes and we waited for them to come out. 2/3 came out and I waited 5 more minutes. When I inquired on mine, the girl laughed and said she forgot about me

Green Acres is the place to be, like the theme song from the hit TV show. Overall, if your looking for an icecream place to take pretty much anyone of any age highly recommend. They do require masks stay on when ordering, and waiting for your order. Make sure to have your credit card with you, as its contact less payment, no cash option available due to pandemic temporarily. They sure do deliver with artisan icecream flavors, 15 different kinds of slushies, smoothies milkshakes, cider slushies. As well as Perry's hard and soft icecream, custard, mcflurries, different cone dips and sundaes. I've tried their icecream before, always a win, recently had their slushies, blue rapberry lemonade, very flavorful. My mom ordered a Creamsicle milk shake and loved it. Only downside, wasn't a fan of the smoothies too creamy for my liking.

Apple pie parfait

Came here to grab a sweet treat for myself and my dad. Got the apple pie parfait and a small thick chocolate shake. The apple pie parfait was unique, but only comes in one size and was a little large for this gal- split half with my mom. The small chocolate shake was a little pricey for the size, so it might be worth it to get a larger size. I do love that the ice cream shop is local versus a chain and there's a huge menu- literally something for everyone! The line moved at a quick speed as well, you could tell the employees were mindful of that.

Parfait creation with Oreo, hot fudge and peanut butter sauce!

Best Ice Cream in the Buffalo area, there is no debating that!!! This ice cream is thick, and rich and so full of flavor. The combinations that they have for their parfaits are the best, but better yet, they also allow you to mix and match for your own creations! This place also has mini golf and a driving range attached, so this make for a perfect spot for date night or for some family fun!! They also do special events such as movie nights for the kids and glow in the dark mini golf. This would be a great place for summer fun!

Dole Whip time! :-D

Food Truck Round Up

The day was cloudy, dreary and rainy. But that in no way stopped anyone from attending the Food…read moreTruck Round Up! No sir, umbrellas abounded, as folks meandered from truck to truck, sniffing the air for answers to what's cookin', tempting them to certain trucks. It rather smelled like the fair, in a GOOD way, food scents wafting by, mingling with each other as giddy people paid no attention to each other or even their cell phones in an effort to decide which truck to order from. BBQ? Vietnamese? Sweets? Mexican??!! Greek? Oh boy, what fragrant air filled the Eastern Hills Mall parking lot on Transit Road this day. What a concept! If only the trucks lined up like this, like a train, one after the other, once a month instead of annually. Boy, it was our lucky day! We just happened to stumble upon the line up. I knew I must try the Black Market Food Truck, for they served the most awesome food at the Yelp Elite International Institute event recently and I knew I'd find my way to them once again. Today I tried the corn and black bean hummus, and it was delectable with a bite, and beautifully presented, and from a TRUCK! Little slanted slices of crispy dipping bread was alongside the cupful of hummus. Mister ditched the umbrella and hoofed it quickly to Lloyd's and oh my, was that burrito nummy! He ordered the one with braised beef and it was so flavorful, just like home cooked beef, and I seldom eat beef. Rolled in a 12" tortilla, with rice, black beans, a jack/cheddar cheese blend, finely shredded cabbage, chimichurri, and salsa roja it was perfectly spicy and delicious, a plentiful portion of goodness. And for $6.50? Hands down the best burrito I've tasted. We splurged on a Mexican Coca-Cola, super yum taste from childhood, before "corn syrup" took over the real sugar ingredient around these parts. In this inclement weather, not one server had a scowl, all were cheerful and happily serving it up from high upon their truck-turned-order-window. Kudos to all who work the food trucks, may you prosper with such ingenuity and hard work. As in many of my posts, give these non-chain folks the business, they have way more at stake than a fast food joint. Reward them with your patronage! Follow them on their websites and spread the word; give your fellow residents, friends and neighbors the chance to thrive. And Eastern Hills Mall, hellooooo, you folks have done so much for the community since new management took over. How about bringing in the trucks on certain Saturdays, monthly, at least? Pretty please?!

So as not to overestimate, when calculating Maths, I usually think it's better to "Round Down", but…read morethis food truck festival believes otherwise. I'm sure they'd love me to "Round Up" to a 4, but I can't. Larkin Square has the same issues (massively overpriced with really low standards), but their selection is magnificent (40 to 50 per Tuesday), and they have the influx of Rochester trucks to improve the quality - the Buffalo ones are awful for the most part. I must have spent a good $50 just trying to sample 6 or 7 of these food trucks, which I think is preposterous. Almost everything I ate was average or just really, really bad. The Black Market Food Truck was one enjoyable exception. I wrote reviews of most of these trucks, and then was sent abuse by the owner of my least fave of the trucks I tried - Roaming Buffalo. Plus it was outside and we all got soaking wet as well as ripped off. Despite all the negativity I associate with this event, it's still a bunch of locals trying to get by, and it's still a food truck rodeo in a town that didn't have food trucks for a long time. So I'll give it a 3. But the standard needs to go way up and the prices need to go down, in order for me to ever give food trucks my repeated business in this city.

I'm a massive fan of all forms of hot dogs, whether it's standard fare like Ted's, or bizarre concoctions like Zunzi in Savannah, Georgia. Frank Gourmet just falls short for me. It did absolutely nothing for me. There was nothing gourmet about it and I didn't particularly enjoy it. I understand that it's making very interesting combinations and it's trying to offer dogs from all over the country. But the LA street dog (wrapped in bacon) tastes nothing like the LA dogs (not even one tenth as good, not even close), and the others have a similar story. I guess I am spoiled. You'd be better spending your money at one of the other downtown food carts, although if you fancy a hot dog there isn't really anything horribly wrong with these dogs either. It's better than Lloyd's Taco Truck. But then that's not saying much.
