Haven't been here in a while so it was nice to stop here while the weather is still good. Love the calming view of the water (no pics of that today). I ordered a bacon cheese hot dog & sweet potato fries. The fries were absolutely yummy! I'm a big hot dog fan but don't think I'll order this particular one again. I expected it to be wrapped in bacon but it seemed like bacon bits, unless it was just cooked so crisp that it crumbled. Either way, I think I'd prefer the dog without it. Got a sundae with hot fudge and peanut butter and was very excited until I got to the custard/ice cream. It had no flavor. It tasted like heavy cream. Not vanilla. I didn't want to make a stink about it so I just threw the sundae away as it was not what I wanted nor expected. Nice day for a early dinner. Me and my daughter both got marinaded chicken sandwich with lettuce tomato on a Costanzo roll nice juicy chicken. And my daughter got a cheeseburger for later she enjoyed it also had lettuce and tomato she likes this sauce that tastes like the sauce on a big Mac! We had onion rings the best around nice and crispy never greasy. A Mighty Mudd Burger and Memphis Fries, please :). The food and location, which is right next to Niawanda Park in Tonawanda, is an ideal combination. It's summer and if you want something simple, satisfying and fun, this is the destination. Walking along the Niagara River is an enjoyable and relaxing activity. This is the main reason to be there, so you shouldn't skip it. Everyone who works at Mississippi Mudds is always very polite and helpful. This is a team of young, energetic people who make sure that our food is consistently delicious. Decent portions of fries are hot and crispy. The burgers are also grilled to perfection every time we order. They also serve curly lettuce, not iceberg, which is huge. Oh! I can't forget to mention the condiment stand. Mudd's Burger Sauce is my favorite. There's also pickles, a hot sauce, diced onion, plus the usual. The 2024 season ends on October 5. Stopped in to fuel up while on a bike ride. For a hot dog , fries and a drink $15 is almost ridiculous. (Trickle down economics in play here). Fries weren't crispy, tender but no crunch... hot dog had a little char, (it's a hot dog, you can't mess it up)... Fountain drink though... that definitely hit the spot ..icy cold. I have heard about this place, but have never been here until now. We happenrd to be in the area after having dinner in Tonawanda, when my wife suggested we visit. I had two scoops of ice cream, and so did she. As it was a Friday evening, we decided to grab our ice creams, and sit on the patio upstairs which overlooks the river. Mississippi Muds is a North Tonawanda staple and has been around for years. I've had their ice cream before and they have perry's so thats always good. I do have to say that I dont think the food is anything special. Average at best. I should have taken pics, but I forgot and it really wasn't worth it. They are a bit overpriced , in my opinion, but most places are these days. If it was really good I wouldn't mind. I got chicken fingers and fries, plus others with me got burgers, sausages, and a salad. I wouldn't come back to eat, but maybe for ice cream if I really wanted some and was in the area. The area is nice as there is a park across the street with beautiful water views and a trail. They do have plenty of seating and even a play area for kids which is nice. They have a small parking lot, but there is also limited street parking and parking by the park across the street. It's a cool spot to just hang out, but dont expect great eats. Just "ok". Mississippi Mudds is close to my apartment and is a great place to get a quick bite! They're doing a great job at social distancing during this pandemic by only allowing 10 people in at a time. There are squares on the sidewalk where you can line up. It gets fairly busy but the line moves quick. Niawanda Park is right across the street so it's convenient to grab your food and head there! Mississippi mudds is always on my summer to do list. We must go at least once to experience this amazing summer atmosphere. We always go with a but once get one coupon for a hot dog and drink. We usually end up getting some fries as well. Their food is pretty good. A classic grill joint with hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, salads and Italian sausage (although they have a lot more). I do like to indulge with the person I go with and also get some sweet potato fries! Yum! The best part about Mississippi mudds isn't their food though it's their soda fountain. Just kidding lol, it's their view although the soda fountain is nice! The view over looks the water passage between tondawanda and grand island. If you're lucky enough, if you go during sunset you'll get to see the beautiful sunset on the water. Their sitting is situated a story above the ground so you can overlook all the action happening below which can be quite entertaining. The one complaint I have about Mississippi mudds is the pride of their food. It is on the higher side. For 2 hot dogs a fry and 2 drinks it'll run you about 26 Dollars. Nothing says summer like Mississippi Mudds. This place and its' sister store Old Man River are a must stop at least once when the warm weather graces us with its presence in Buffalo. They have added more tables, chairs and umbrellas in the parking lot, closing it off from cars, so unfortunately street parking is at a premium. On a nice day though, it is a nice little walk before and after indulging in the charcoal tastiness that is Mississippi Mudds. I ordered a burger on a gluten free roll. I bit into it and unfortunately, didn't realize that condiments are separate and you have to get them yourself. So I had to go back inside and get mayo, ketchup and mustard. Not a big deal, but I always forget about that. Also, I was going to get French fries, but wanted some ice cream after and knew I couldn't eat that much food, so only went with a burger and some root beer. The burger was good and I love their gluten free rolls. I'm pretty sure they use my favorite gluten free local bun place called Brian's Best Gluten Free, but don't quote me on that. I haven't had a Brian's Best roll in so long, that it was heaven and I miss their store being open to the public. I love how Mississippi Mudds caters to the vegans, gluten freers, and lactose intolerant people of the world. I had to try their dairy free vanilla ice cream and it was very good. It tasted oaty and I really enjoyed it. It was very refreshing and I had no stomach issues, so it was a completely winning day. read more

I got a California style turkey burger with cheese, bacon , avocado , lettuce . My aunt got pretty much the same thing but as a chicken sandwich with some jalapeños. We shared an order of fries and I got a banana peanut butter shake, she just got a coke. The bill came to about $35 which is a bit high, but with the good service and the quality of food , I respected it! And the view .... Fantastic. Cruised by here on a summer day group ride. It's not bad and the food is good. Located right on the river, which provides for some really cool scenery. No idea if it's open in the winter or not, but in the summer time it's definitely a big attraction. Which of course means it's Super Busy... like every weekend that the sun pops it's head out. The grand kids enjoyed their kid meals and they specially liked the frisbee the food was served on! I get that some food has to be prepped ahead of time but the mushrooms on my chicken sandwich were wayyy over sautéed and the chicken breast was pretty thin... We got burgers and planned to get ice cream after but decided to go elsewhere after we ate. The selection is fine but the price just seemed ridiculous for what we wanted. Worth mentioned some options don't come in various sizes, so you're stuck with basically a large.
