Happiness in a dish

This tiny local treasure is a must try in our area , boasting a massive ice cream menu, amazing food, and simply outstanding service. This place is undeniably one of those places that gets you hooked after just one visit.

"Bubbaloos" admittedly sounds like a company that makes outhouses for Deep Southern states. This place is adorable... one of those little all American roadside stands that belongs in the 50s... it's out in the middle of nowhere, near where I live, and it's only open during warm months (although there really are no such thing as warm months in these parts, to be honest). It's extremely family owned, and despite their unfortunate failed attempt at opening year round which broke my heart, they still open up every March or April and start serving ice cream, good burgers, and delicious dogs. I thought I already posted a review for this place but now I see it has no reviews, so I guess not... I think that they should start serving some novelty items that would take them from a 4 to a 6 out of 5. Like for example, import Beaver Tail desserts from Canada (nobody else does), or serve some funnel cake at least. And how about, serving some real Wisconsin Butter Burgers and Butter Brats? I'd go here 3 times a week if they had those! Catch my snowdrift? Edit: They have Sponge Candy Ice Creeeeeeeeeeeam! And are within cycling distance of my house ;) Now we're talking sausages! Their white hots, for me, are the best thing on the menu. The burgers aren't half bad too, but the white hot alone is what earns this place its 4/5 rating. It's one of the better dogs I've had and I could eat one every day. Because I'm spoiled in terms of food, I probably eat more like one per month, but that shouldn't take away from how addictive and delicious those things are. I recommend getting it with mustard and onions. Yum yum. I'm sure everything on the menu is pretty good and prices are decent too. When told that his Shrimp Boat friend had gambled away a fortune at a Riverboat Casino, Forrest Gump's first question was, "how much did Bubbaloos?"

I like to support the local economy as far as family owned and operated. This is your standard ice cream set up and yes they do serve food here as well. I'm not a huge fan of chain ice cream and some may argue it but sorry Perry's is and if you can get it at the ice cream stand you can buy it at the grocery store almost all the time with a few exceptions. So with that being said there's not much difference here as any offer place that offers to sell Perry's products, turkey hill, blue bunny or whatever other chain ice cream they have. When I see Perrys at stand I'll stick with soft served only. Real homemade ice cream is still the best! Sorry Perry's lovers....your all over WNY! Your local but your my bag of lays potato chips....old and boring.

After a day full of drinking and relaxing on Chautauqua Lake, we were looking for a cold, creamy…read moretreat to wrap up our day and the night before, we had seen signs for The Sprinkle Cone, so we decided to give them a try! On a Saturday, around 8pm or so, the family and I were walking downtown Jamestown and came here for a cold and creamy treat! From what I could tell, they only served hard ice cream, which was locally made by Addie's Ice Cream, along with sundaes, floats, etc., so no custards here, but no complaints here! After perusing their flavors, we were able to go right up to the window and place our order. There appeared to be about two or three people working, but they were courteous and quick, including the woman who took our order. There were a couple of benches near this shop but more than likely, expect to stand or walk somewhere else to sit. We all ordered medium-sized ice cream cones and upgraded to the waffle cone for an additional 75 cents. I went with their New York Cheese Cake and Mint Oreo Fudge flavors. The NY Cheese Cake flavor was on top and was very creamy! I loved how the cherries were swirled in. The Mint Oreo Fudge was an excellent closer for my ice cream cone as it was fudgy with plenty of Oreo cookie pieces and the right amount of mint flavor. The medium-size was the perfect portion too, it left me plenty satisfied. I will admit the prices might seem a tad on the high side, but the ice cream was very good and I like to support local places when I can. Overall, The Sprinkle Cone scooped out a great experience with friendly customer service and quality hard ice cream. When I come back to Jamestown, I wouldn't have any problems coming back and trying a couple different flavors!

I've eaten a lot of fancy ice cream so I will designate myself an authority. The space is open, airy, laid back and a little punk rock. Family friendly with the Buzz Cocks playing in the backround. There's an 80's feel about it all in just the right way. The proprietor makes the ice cream himself with fresh cream every Tuesday. It's sooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooood!!!!! NOT OVERLY SWEET. For example I find Perry's cloyingly sweet. Too much for me. Sprinkle Cone hits it just right. I went with my brother and his two teenage kids. Everyone was unexpectedly blown away. Here's the breakdown. Me: Vanilla and Berry Cobbler in a Sprinkle Cone Ethan: Mint Oreo Fudge and Reses Chunk in a cone Bro: Toasted Coconut and Strawberry in a cone Flynn: Don't remember 'cause he inhaled it! There was evidence of a cone tho Side Note: There is sidewalk chalk aplenty for drawing :@) Ps I head there's a badass indoor skateboard park in the same building!! Price: Increadibly reasonable for what you get.

It's a family owned business run by a husband-and-wife team. When we visited, we met the husband, who was there with an employee he seemed to be training both very friendly and welcoming. We actually found out about this place through Instagram and a local news feature, so naturally, we had to check it out. It's tucked away toward the quieter end of Park Avenue, which makes it feel even more like a hidden gem. We stopped by on a warm October weekend. I initially thought all the ice cream was house-made but turns out it's Perry's. Not a deal-breaker, but a little "meh" moment. That said, they were actually making some fresh ice cream during our visit, and the owner even brought us a sample and it was delicious! I ordered a banana split, which was made just as expected. Since it was the employee's first time making one, I didn't fuss though part of me was hoping for a few more bells and whistles (maybe I'm just spoiled by Margie's Candies back in Chicago). It could've been prettier, but it still hit the spot. Overall, the ice cream was tasty, prices were fair, and the vibe was lovely. I do wonder how they'll do during the colder months maybe a collaboration with a local small-batch ice cream maker would be fun? Street parking available. Give them a whirl 4.5 outta 5!

Kish-a-wa Creamery - 2/3 of our original serving of mint ting-a-ling ice cream!

Perhaps I misunderstood and what they were talking about was the wall with the incredible number and variety of sundaes available. We shared a "small" bowl of mint ting-a-ling ice cream, not a sundae. When I ordered, I was asked "what size?". I asked what size servings the people at the corner table were eating. I was told "small". Even though I had been told the servings were very large, I was not prepared for the very large "small". It was clearly large enough to share, so ordered a small with two spoons. It was only $5.50! The attached photo was taken after we started eating our ice cream. We'd eaten about 1/3 of it.

Living out west we are always seeing froyo everywhere so i was excited to have my favorite soft serve and then Perry's ice cream. This place has it all. So many choices, it was a little overwhelming! I stuck to my twist with rainbow sprinkles. The sizes are big! A small was huge! But I guess it matched the prices. Everyone loved their ice cream choices, even the hubby who opted for a shake. Plenty of seating, mainly outdoors. I'll be back for sure next time we visit WNY!
