"Bubbaloos" admittedly sounds like a company that makes outhouses for Deep Southern states. This place is adorable... one of those little all American roadside stands that belongs in the 50s... it's out in the middle of nowhere, near where I live, and it's only open during warm months (although there really are no such thing as warm months in these parts, to be honest). It's extremely family owned, and despite their unfortunate failed attempt at opening year round which broke my heart, they still open up every March or April and start serving ice cream, good burgers, and delicious dogs. I thought I already posted a review for this place but now I see it has no reviews, so I guess not... I think that they should start serving some novelty items that would take them from a 4 to a 6 out of 5. Like for example, import Beaver Tail desserts from Canada (nobody else does), or serve some funnel cake at least. And how about, serving some real Wisconsin Butter Burgers and Butter Brats? I'd go here 3 times a week if they had those! Catch my snowdrift? Edit: They have Sponge Candy Ice Creeeeeeeeeeeam! And are within cycling distance of my house ;) Now we're talking sausages! Their white hots, for me, are the best thing on the menu. The burgers aren't half bad too, but the white hot alone is what earns this place its 4/5 rating. It's one of the better dogs I've had and I could eat one every day. Because I'm spoiled in terms of food, I probably eat more like one per month, but that shouldn't take away from how addictive and delicious those things are. I recommend getting it with mustard and onions. Yum yum. I'm sure everything on the menu is pretty good and prices are decent too. Do your self a favor and go someplace else if you are looking to get food and ice cream. They have this moronic system where you have to go inside to order food and the person who waits on you keeps running back out to help the other person deal with ice cream. So you wait and wait and wait. It took the two people two interactions each to finish a transaction with her, both interrupted by her just walking away to do something out front. After what had to be 10 clack minutes and what felt like 20, finally said fuck this place and left. The food prices are also near state fair high. $7 for a turkey burger, $3 for fries and $7 for a shake, two burgers, fries and a shake plus tax you are looking at $30. It is one thing to get ass raped on prices but another to get really shitty service at the same time. I wound up stopping at Wendy's. One of the guys with us had to pee. I got in got a special made chicken sandwiches, a large fries and a large frosty for under $30 and I went to get a straw for my frosty that was done in 5 seconds and a pack of salt for my fries. When I came back to the counter mt stuff was done. I was in and out of there before my friend was. I would have to say anything is better than bubbaloos. I could not fathom taking kids there for anything but ice cream. They would go ballistic in the line and put you in the poor house at the same time. We are from the South towns and came out to Akron for dinner with our 8 year old grandson. Our purpose was to ride bikes on the trails. He had asked about stopping at bubbalou's for ice cream when we passed by. We pulled in, got out of the truck and were at the window reading the menu, suddenly they turned the lights off. Not one person addressed us to let us know that they were closing soon, nor gave us the opportunity to put in an order. I obviously had a very disappointed eight-year-old boy on the way home. I like to support the local economy as far as family owned and operated. This is your standard ice cream set up and yes they do serve food here as well. I'm not a huge fan of chain ice cream and some may argue it but sorry Perry's is and if you can get it at the ice cream stand you can buy it at the grocery store almost all the time with a few exceptions. So with that being said there's not much difference here as any offer place that offers to sell Perry's products, turkey hill, blue bunny or whatever other chain ice cream they have. When I see Perrys at stand I'll stick with soft served only. Real homemade ice cream is still the best! Sorry Perry's lovers....your all over WNY! Horrible! We visited at 7:00 on a Friday night, dining room chairs were already up. Walked in two employees standing there, didn't even acknowledge our presence. Acted put out that we wanted to order dinner. We ordered sat down. While waiting for our dinner they refused a couple groups, refused another food but "gave" him ice cream because they didn't want to ring him out. A group of elderly people came in looking for soft serve to which they were hastily told "it will be 5 to 10 minutes, the machine is off". I told the group that the ice cream stand in Alden was open they should go try it. All of a sudden she could serve them, but was not nice at all. Food was nothing to write home about, dry burger, white hot was so so, loaded fries could have been better and the sweet potato fries tasted reheated in the micro, and I'm not sure what the glaze was on top, it sure didn't taste like honey and butter. Creamsicle milkshake tasted like chemicals. Tried the Peanut Butter Bon Bon ice cream, had to throw it out, freezer burned. Customer service needs a rehaul, so does their quality. Food is ok. Somewhat overpriced for what you get, in my opinion. Older location. Some remember when it was Hoffmans. Way before my time, have seen pictures though. Not the cleanest place, never was in my memories, even when Billy Bobs was located here. Staff and owner are pretty nice though. Be cautious outside, there always seem to be BEES nearby. Sometimes little league does stop by for a treat. Can get busy. Last time I knew, they only accepted paper money. They do sell Perrys ice cream. Be careful entering and exiting by motor vehicle. The intersection can be sketchy. Have witnessed a few accidents. No traffic signals. Some want one there, but it never seems to happen. My son and I decided we wanted ice cream sundaes at 8:50pm on a Sat night in June, the only place open nearby (according to Google) was Bubbaloos, which closed at 9:30. We jumped on the car and made the 15 min trip... When we got there, it was dark and we were the only customers. 3 giggly teenage girls were working on closing up the place and got very annoyed at our presence ("oh my God" one groaned and the others did the eye roll). I asked if they were open, one said curtly they only had hard ice cream. (Evidently, they had taken down all their equipment early). I had just driven 15 min for a soft ice cream sundae, so I didn't want to give Bubbaloos my money after being treated like that. I did get my disappointed son a small cone to make him happy. I get that it's annoying to have customers come in last minute, but it was 20+ minutes before closing and the rudeness was unacceptable. I get that they are only kids, but if they had been apologetic, I wouldn't be here. Never going back. What a waste. read more

Paid $3.80 for a Medium Twist. When I received it it was about the size of a baby cone and most other ice cream shops. I asked the employees if that was a medium (regular) size and they confirmed it was. Big waste of money and the ice cream was average. The food is good and the staff is friendly. But there are some issues. The same issues they have every season. Not clean and they never have enough staff. We went this past spring two days after they opened and the dining area was already filthy. We always wait longer than what would b considered normal for our food. Now we only go for ice cream. I only go there b cuz the my have Perry's soft serve. Most places have Upstate Farms soft serve which is good but not as good as Perry's. read more
