The haddock was very small and it's not fresh fish but tastes very good for frozen and you could opt for the whole haddock dinner instead. I left off the Mac salad as it tastes like macaroni and mayonnaise. The fries are always pretty good and the seafood overall was very tasty. Does lack in consistency. Last week my seafood was burned and the haddock piece was a nice portion. This week the haddock is tiny but the seafood was cooked perfectly. My wife and I stopped here a few days ago for a milkshake to share, which was very good. While we were waiting, I noticed that they have a special on Thursdays for a turkey dinner which is one of my faves. I read some reviews on Yelp which indicated they sometimes run out of turkey dinners very early so I called to order takeout at 4:40 p.m. They told me it would be ready in 10 or 15 minutes. I got there on time, and it was ready. It was a very good meal, with mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, and a roll. So let me start off by saying we didn't even try the ice cream. And we came on a VERY off day..hopefully. We walked in and there was a giant line and we thought it was because the food/ice cream is great but no. And the fries were LOADED with salt. We had to scrape it off. They charged us for two bottles of water when we ordered one so luckily I noticed and we got another. But the chicken fingers were gross. Didn't eat past two bites gross. I'm sad to say we didn't want to stay to find out what the ice cream was like because our meal was already $31. Hoovers has finally started making their own ice cream and it has not disappointed! So far, I've had the grandma Pat's butterscotch, peanut butter cup, butterfinger, bada bing cherry, orange chocolate and chocolate peanut butter (It's a short drive from my work and I may have ended up there a time or two for lunch; don't judge!). The mix-ins in the ice cream are plentiful and you'd never be mistaken what kind of ice cream you're eating; definitely no, "where's the peanut butter cup?", here. If you're not a fan of "things" in your ice cream, they have vanilla, chocolate, black raspberry, orange chocolate and a variety of soft serve flavors. I plan to try all their flavors, even the plain old vanilla. It seems they are adding new flavors every week. Follow their Facebook page! If you want some "real" food before you dive into your ice cream, they also have burgers, dogs, salads, wraps and more! Such a cool place ! Like an old school 50s diner vibe but with a strong focus on dairy , since their dairy farm is right down the street . Menu prices are from another era it seems too . I got a burger with mushroom, bacon and Swiss and a side of Mac and cheese ($13 total) . I definitely got creamy Velveeta cheese vibes from the side dish and the burger tasted flame broiled and fresh , although I prefer my burger to be on the pinker side, wellness wise . The decor is too cute with cows and pigs everywhere . I tried my friends portion of mint milk, and it was tasty , a much better alternative to a Shamrock Shake . I have been meaning to stop into Hoover's since I passed it on a Friday and it was SLAMMED with cars. I was up in the area and I had a tough time choosing what to get. They have a pretty big menu but the special for that day was a Roast beef and gouda melt with sauteed onions. I opted for that and curly fries. Looking around, I will say that I sadly misordered. The beef is kind of dry and it lacked a sauce or condiment on top and the fries were average. However, their burgers, subs, and hot dogs looked great so I will definitely try again. Also - the ice cream, I've never had someone incorporate so many sprinkles. That girl was a genius. The service was extremely friendly and they were on top of the massive rush for a weeknight. The dairy location is behind the restaurant, if you follow the dirt road your sure to find it. Hoover's Dairy hours are from 9-6 Monday-Friday, and Saturday 9 to 1. My mom and I were pleasantly surprised at the selection of their products: plain, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, iced tea, lemonade, orange drink, different cheese spreads, and brown eggs. I've found very few places so far since working in Niagara County that I fell in love with. Let's add this Gem to the list! Heard from a coworker they had a good fish fry so I had to see for myself. Please note: you have to wait until noon if you come for a fish fry. Not sure why that's a rule. My 3 Coworkers and I could have easily left and went somewhere else to avoid the 20 minute wait. I am however glad I was blessed with patience.... and the car keys so lol. For $11 you get a large piece of haddock breaded or beer battered, coleslaw, fries, macaroni salad and drink. I will say the coleslaw looked like soup so I didn't try it but everything else was delicous. The icing on the cake is that your meal is served with an ice cream sundae. If your ever near Ward Rd and hungry definitely give this place a shot. read more

This is becoming our default stop after hitting the nearby antique stores. So. Many. Flavors. I love soft serve but also love variety, and I love being able to get coffee soft serve, or peanut butter soft serve. I know it's just mix ins, don't care, it's awesome. They also have a great variety of hard ice creams, and prices are very reasonable. Have only tried food once, and it was okay. Kind of typical ice cream shop fare. The fries were crinkle cut and nicely crispy, but a bit under-seasoned. We'll sick to this as an ice cream shop. Pretty good on the covid safety, except it's kind of confusing that they're only using one entrance and keeping the other locked. Why not use one as an entrance, one as an exit, to keep people further apart? Though that's probably due to people not being able to follow directions... I remember watching a Nickel City Chef Battle between Adam Goetz (Craving) and Bryan Mecozzi (Black Iron Bystro) with their Milk as the Main Ingredient for the Battle, with Dishes like Milk poached Cod with Popcorn Grits, Sea Foam, Brown Butter Sand, Sea Beans & Cheese Encrusted Cauliflower and White Russian Milkshake with Zamir Vodka, Coffee Liquor and Espresso Caviar (Splendid Battle). Located in Sanborn (Middle of Nowhere), 35 Minutes north of the North Tonawanda Farmer's Market, I as able to convince my Father to take me and my Brother here for some Lunch. Walking into this place, like you would any Fast Food Place (it has same kind of Feeling to it). We went up to place our Orders, Nate & Dad both split a Burger Sub while I got myself a Roast Beef Sandwich with Smoked Gouda. I thought the Meat was good (but that Gouda on top that melted was Amazing). Me and Nathan also each got a Bottle of Milk (which were like something from back in the 1940's or 50's that the Milkman would deliver door to door by Hand). I got Chocolate and Nate got Strawberry (the Milk had a nice Richness to it). We also split and order of Waffle Fries, the one thing that I didn't like was that my dad took the Bottle of Vinegar and doused Half of those Fries with it. Some of them were a bit Crispy (like a Waffle out of the Machine) some where a bit Soggy (but I dealt with it). We ate, talked and told stories, it was a good experience. This is a place you'd come if you were going out this way for one of those Rare Treats. It could be a while before coming back but we'll see !!! read more
