We arrived around 5pm and the parking lot was packed, but we still managed to find a spot. The staff working here are young and courteous. After looking over the food menu, it didn't take long to reach the ordering window and place our dinner order. The Hojack accepts cash and credit cards, but there's an additional processing fee with credit cards. Mom secured a table for us while I stood by the other window, waiting for our order number to be called. There were several tables and they're all covered so that's very nice! For Mother's Day 2026, it was cool and windy, so we didn't stay once we finished eating. For dinner, mom ordered a turkey burger, no mayonnaise (this comes topped with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise), I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with all the toppings (lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise), and we split a basket of fries. It took about 15 minutes before our food was ready, but everything was made-to-order, so it all was incredibly fresh and hot! Even though the food is basic, The Hojack does a great job! We were sad to see they weren't serving their ice cream nachos, so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert (plus we were freezing at this point haha). The Hojack is a no-frills spot, but they nail the grill/fryer basics! As the weather gets warmer, I see myself coming back for a cold, ice cream treat - Hopefully it'll be for some ice cream nachos!

I don't feel that way here. The service was sub-par. The ice cream was meh. The sundaes are basically ice cream with a cheap toupee. A very ill-fitting, cheap toupee. Nothing about the product or my overall impression of this business gives me a reason to choose it over the many other locally owned places where I'm genuinely happy to spend my money. So if you're looking for extraordinary ice cream, I can't recommend it. If you're simply looking for adequate ice cream with apathetic, crappy service, you can certainly find it here (and be prepared to bring cash). Personally, I'd save the money and buy a pint at the grocery store. When my husband asked for a "medium" hot fudge sundae, our looks of shock made him rethink his order. After he saw the size of my "baby" he changed his order to a small. Wow... The ice cream was good, the number of flavors was mind boggling, and they had some cute old time posters on the wall that made me nostalgic. There is also plentiful outside covered seating. Not very many seats indoors. I don't know why their portions are so massive. Honestly you have to see it to believe it. Next time we are in this area, we will definitely be back!
