I have been to Hanna's dozens and dozens at times since I was little. My dad used to take us all…read morethere for lemon ice. But as an adult, I haven't been there very many times. I went there tonight because I saw a picture that somebody posted of a banana ship Sunday and it looked so amazing. I just had to go there and get one for myself. The only problem with that was, my banana ship was so much smaller than the ones in the pictures. Obviously different crews working, they make things differently and the girl tonight just made mine so small. It was really kind of ridiculous and it was $10.00. If you look at the pictures from Hanna's of the banana ships and you look at my picture compared to the other ones, you will notice a big difference. I got completely ripped off. The employee was very nice though she was young cute and just a nice girl. As far as Parking goes now, that's kind of tough. It's a very small parking lot. I think maybe 10 cars could fit in there ,either 8 or 10. I'm not sure. And you have to really watch out cause kids are all over the place and you don't know if there's gonna be one running through the parking lot or not so you just have to really watch out for everybody there. It was very, very busy tonight and understandably, it's a beautiful night and perfect for ice cream. But the line unfortunately goes out towards the street and the main street there is Colvin so that's kind of dangerous for a little kids to be around waiting in line because you know kids can't stand still. They don't have a huge selection of ice cream or sundaes or things, but but they do have does sound good but like I said, it's not very much. Next time I go, I'm going to get probably lemon ice like I used to when I was little or another banana ship and hopefully they make it bigger. What they did make, though it was delicious.

We ordered it in a dish, because I didn't realize they had gluten free cones until we sat down and I was reading the menu as we were eating the delicious ice cream. The item was vanilla ice cream, upstate farms, which is elite, stuffed woth caramel sauce in the middle, with pieces of sponge candy encoating the vanilla ice cream. We ordered the small, but it did come in kiddie. The small was because we were sharing. It was sweet. But it was delicious. This spot is always jamming when I drive by it. I ordered the flavor of the week, espresso caramel custard twist. It was a great combination that I've never seen anywhere before and it was nice and creamy. The large size was $5.25 including tax (sorry, no picture; I was excited to eat it). Though very friendly, the service was a tad slow and my custard had a little hollow section in the middle. I'm guessing they have some new employees that are still learning the ropes. I would visit again... Maybe later in the season. To note, there is an extra fee when using a credit card. They have seating under a roofed patio as well as some tables behind the building in the yard underneath some trees.

The Pink Cow: Where my dessert dreams come true and my medium is actually a large…read more This charming little ice cream stand in Alden is what I imagine heaven looks like if heaven were shaped like an oversized Fotomat and served twist cones. The Pink Cow is my happy place. It's small, yes, but mighty--and filled with frozen joy and sugar-fueled chaos in the best way possible. There's plenty of outdoor seating (umbrellaed, because sunburns are rude), and ample parking for all your impulse sundae needs. For the efficient ice cream warriors among us, there's even a drive-thru. I've never used it, mostly because I live in fear of dripping soft serve into my cup holders and explaining that to my mechanic. Also? I'm a people-watcher. Give me a bench, a waffle cone, and a toddler in pajamas and cowboy boots blowing bubbles, and I'll be emotionally wrecked thinking about my grandkid on another continent. Worth every tear. Also, let's talk about my ordering process: I get a large. Then I go home and casually tell my husband it was a medium. Don't judge me, Janice, we all have our coping mechanisms and mine is portion-size denial. When my husband joins me? It's date night, baby. First, The Pink Cow. Then a romantic stroll (read: shuffle) through the Tractor Supply at the back of the parking lot, where we look at baby chicks and he buys me a sundress (See my Tractor Supply review for those details). You can keep your rooftop martinis and overpriced tapas--I'm living my best small town romance novel life, and it includes fudge swirl and farm supply fashion. So yeah, get the ice cream. Live your life. Stretch the truth about the size if you must. The Pink Cow is worth it.
