To my surprise, it was much harder than I expected to tell the cannoli, tiramisu, Nutella, amaretto, and loganberry cheesecakes apart. They all had a rich, creamy texture and a strong vanilla flavor that tied them together, which isn't a bad thing at all. My daughter declared the loganberry her favorite, while my one son couldn't get enough of the coconut slice (really it's amaretto). As for me, I think I'll just have to keep eating more cheesecake before I can confidently pick a favorite!

The Pink Cow is my happy place. It's small, yes, but mighty--and filled with frozen joy and sugar-fueled chaos in the best way possible. There's plenty of outdoor seating (umbrellaed, because sunburns are rude), and ample parking for all your impulse sundae needs. For the efficient ice cream warriors among us, there's even a drive-thru. I've never used it, mostly because I live in fear of dripping soft serve into my cup holders and explaining that to my mechanic. Also? I'm a people-watcher. Give me a bench, a waffle cone, and a toddler in pajamas and cowboy boots blowing bubbles, and I'll be emotionally wrecked thinking about my grandkid on another continent. Worth every tear. Also, let's talk about my ordering process: I get a large. Then I go home and casually tell my husband it was a medium. Don't judge me, Janice, we all have our coping mechanisms and mine is portion-size denial. When my husband joins me? It's date night, baby. First, The Pink Cow. Same as most everywhere else you'd stop in WNY. Since many of these ice cream shops are alike, I want them to do something extra to stand out a little. Otherwise, I'd just go to Dairy Queen. Don't get me wrong -- I love supporting locally owned businesses. In fact, I'm usually willing to spend a little more locally when I feel good about where my money is going. I don't feel that way here. The service was sub-par. The ice cream was meh. The sundaes are basically ice cream with a cheap toupee. A very ill-fitting, cheap toupee. Nothing about the product or my overall impression of this business gives me a reason to choose it over the many other locally owned places where I'm genuinely happy to spend my money. So if you're looking for extraordinary ice cream, I can't recommend it. If you're simply looking for adequate ice cream with apathetic, crappy service, you can certainly find it here (and be prepared to bring cash). Personally, I'd save the money and buy a pint at the grocery store. Since this is such an important part of planning my wedding, that part of the experience felt a bit disappointing. Overall, while I was really rooting for this to be "the place" especially since it's a big and popular bakery I don't feel confident moving forward with them for my wedding desserts.
