We're visiting from out of town, and after a long drive, we found Eli Fish and decided to stop for dinner. We couldn't have made a better choice! Pit stopped here on our road trip. We found parking right out front Tuesday evening. We were sat right away and immediately attended to. They offer a beer Flight for $12. We ordered the Amoreus, Senor Pescado, Maple Sunshine & Eli's Horchata Cream Ale. The Amoreus was pretty good, a light and refreshing Lager. The Maple Sunshine was really interesting, you can definitely smell and taste the Maple and it leaves a sweet taste in your mouth. I really liked the Horchata Cream Ale, it tastes kind of like Cream soda. The Senor Pescado was also crisp and refreshing. To eat, we ordered the Grit Cakes and the Pork Belly Rice Bowl. We did want to order the crab rangoon dip but they didn't have any. Food came pretty quickly. The Grit Cakes were light and fluffy and very good and crispy. They're quite big though and it comes with 4 large pieces. I did like the pork belly rice bowl as well but didn't fully enjoy the Chipotle ranch dip that we got on the side mixed. We each ordered the fish tacos which were excellent! (Sautéed mahi mahi topped with house-made pico de gallo cilantro cream). Only 2 per order so not a filling lunch. Served with rice, which was tasty, but we thought an unusual side for fish tacos. We were there for lunch on a weekday; not very busy; quiet enough to allow easy conversation. Service was excellent. First time here. Fun place with really good food and service. I started off with a 1911 black cherry, and ordered the chicken tenders with the garlic parm sauce. One of the best sauces I've ever had! My food arrived hot (lately when I go out to eat, my food is warm and I have to ask them to throw it in the microwave) and the chicken fingers were some of the best that I've had. Recommended by our hotel as the place to be and it was trivia night. Found a parking spot street side and arrived around 7:00pm. Trivia starts at 6:30-7:30pm. So we missed being able to join but that was okay. We could hear everything just fine so we got to enjoy in a way. Loved the layout and that you could walk over and see the tanks the beer was brewed in. Alyssa was our waitress. She was kind, knowledgeable and fast. I know we went to a brewery but actually ordered Margarita and an Old fashioned. I know. I know. Geeezezez lolololol they were decent and maybe we should have ordered beer anyway I had the French onion soup, chicken wings and my husband had the chicken tenders. We have a large family event taking place this weekend and with some family arriving the night before, we selected this establishment. We enjoy a meal every time we are in Western NY along with the varied options for adult beverages. My wife called requesting a reservation for 15 which grew to 21 within an hour of our 6:30 schedule. The staff accepted each call and expansion and setup high tops by the front window for our expanded relatives in from the NJ area. Our server kept everyone's beverages flowing and the turn around time for our meal was incredible ! I had the pickle pizza because of course I did. Split with my son and also some stuffed mushrooms to share in our row. We most certainly stayed longer than expected and never felt rushed by check drops. This is my favorite place in Batavia. Went out for the Annual Boxing Day hockey game and we went here afterwards. This is a quality spot from top to bottom. The interior has such a great atmosphere and feel to it. The service is top notch and friendly. They get orders out quick and the food is delicious. What more could you ask for? I got the Buffalo Chicken pizza this time with a beer and a side of fries. Fries were gone before the pizza came out. They were that good that a picture wasn't fast enough. The pizza was phenomenal compared to others I had had in the past. It had the right amount of chicken and spice to make it really go together perfectly. We were here with my family (12 people) for a family celebration. It started at the bar with everyone happy with the assortment of different beers available. We moved to the back where a pretty private table was set up for us. This place is huge yet somehow our corner felt intimate at the same time. Our server was amazing. Sorry I don't have her name. I'm not sure how she managed to keep track of everyone and everything. We started our meal by ordering several different appetizers which were shared by all. I'm not ever sure what everything was (the table was long!) but everything looked delicious. My favorites were the banana pepper pierogi and the fish tacos. The fish was super fresh and the cilantro cream sauce was the perfect topping. I had never had banana pepper Pierogi before. the smoked brisket served with it was nice an tender and the pierogi had a nice kick. I also enjoyed the fried pickles. Now looking at the menu I'm thinking we got pretty much every appetizer. What can I say, my family likes to eat. The same thing happen with mains. There were a wide variety of selections. My husband got the brew house jambalaya and I ordered the blackened mahI salad. The mani was so good, again prepared to perfection and placed on top of a salad loaded with crisp fresh ingredient. Both excellent. Another standout was the Stinger pizza. So good! it definitely had a kick to it which I loved but a couple other thought it was too hot. Lol, is there such a thing? Service was excellent, food tasted great, and beers were definitely tasty. What more can you ask for? A lot of my review was based on the food. I guess I expected good beer but was also impressed with the food. They also have a great patio area in the back which looks out of an open area where it looks like concert are held. Attended a family gathering. The location was convenient for family members from borh the Rochester and Buffalo area. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have a good beer and food selection. And with as many people in our party, the kitchen got our food out very quickly. I've been to Eli Fish a bunch of times, and each time is great. First off, the interior decor is a beautifully restored & historic old J.J. Newberry store. Ceilings are super high, square footage is deceptively huge both making overall space cavernous. The food is upscale tavern, with plenty of options for everyone. There's a long list of app options, and sandwiches are way more creative than other places. There's only 4 burgers, but I'd be psyched for any of them. The salads and entrees are solid as well. This restaurant has been on my list for awhile and finally had the opportunity to drive to Batavia, NY and check it out. We went at lunch time on a Saturday and I was shocked when I saw how big the place was! It seemed to go back forever and then there is an outdoor area too! We were seated more towards the front and had a very nice server. She quickly took our drink orders and gave us ample time to decide. The menu is great, lots of different options for all sorts of eats. It didn't take more than 20 min for our food to arrive and it was all delicious! I think the winner was the pizza though! The waitress did tell me that the cheese was spicy on this sandwich and said I could change if I wanted...I went with the spicy and was not disappointed. The tater tots were very good as well. When I questioned this, I was told the dishes we ordered were cooked in 2 different kitchens in the restaurant. Therefore, no coordination regarding us receiving our dinners at the same time. I ordered a Reuben, There was clearly not enough dressing on my sandwich. I asked for more dressing and found out when the bill came I was charged extra for the dressing that was missing to begin with. I also asked for tarter sauce for my fries (not an unusual condiment for fries ala the European tradition.) Pork belly burger 9/10 Cooked a perfect medium rare (as requested). Awesome flavor. Very juicy, cheesy and messy. Pretzel bun goes perfect with the beer cheese. Just needed a bit more pork belly. Some bites didn't have any. Loaded cheese fries 7/10 Not cheesy. The cheese was over cooked and crispy on the top so the fries were a little dry underneath. They were still really good though anyways. I did dip them in my leftover chipotle ranch & pico from my corn curls and they were great with that also. If they were plain fries I'd probably rate them a 10. Special 4/15/23: Street Corn Curls 10/10 I love the out of the box thinking for this dish. Never heard of these before in my life.. I didn't know that the center of the corn cob was still attached so I first took a bite out of the whole thing then realized I should not do that lol. Anyways, these are absolutely amazing. So many times we go to breweries and they have good food/bad beer OR good beer/bad food. Well eli fish is that unicorn. We almost always get the blueberry chicken salad because (even in the winter) it's loaded with blueberries - not just a few. Usually about 10-15 beer choices / ne iPas are good to very good but not as good as the gold standards (other half for example). Huge venue so seating is almost never an issue. Great spot to meet someone between buffalo and Rochester. We miss them at muckdog games! read more

This place is SO COOL! I couldn't believe how large the dining area is, I swear it just kept going and going! Service was awesome, every time we weren't sure the next drink to order, our waitress had excellent recommendations based off our our personal preferences. They had 20+ beers on tap and everything from IPA to sours, to stouts. They even have a full bar. They have specialty cocktails available and I ordered the raspberry chocolate martini and hands down, that is the best cocktail I've ever had in my life. My sister and I gulped them down all night! They serve it with stress raspberries drizzled with chocolate sauce. My goodness...if you don't try this cocktail, you are so missing out! I would drive the hour to get there just for this. But ok ok ok, let's get to the food... The menu is huge! Lots of sandwhiches, salads, entrees and burgers. We started off with their perogies - stuffed jalapeno popper fried perogies, smothered in balsamic. Such a strange flavor combination that I probably wouldn't get again. The Oktoberfest menu was awesome! $15 GIGANTIC shareable pretzel came with two types of mustard (I don't like mustard but I liked this) and beer cheese. I hope it becomes a staple. The beer menu is vast, varied, and ever-changing. My ($8) flight was fantastic, except that the aged barleywine was apparently $1.50 extra and I didn't know until the bill came. I ordered the Stinger ($13) and it was okay. I didn't realize it was a wrap (ok yes it said so on the menu) and the cheese wasn't melted at all. It was pretty spicy, too. The beer mac 'n cheese as a side ($1.50 extra) was definitely worth it and I wish I'd had just that for my meal. My friend really liked her French onion soup and the other thought the Chipotle steak & cheese was just okay. Service was just okay as well. I wish we hadn't been too full to have the infused ice cream flight!! Eli Fish is one of my favorite go to places in Batavia. I've been her many times and they are always good. Though unfortunately our most recent visit had to be for takeout given the Corona Virus Pandemic. They have been doing such a great job during this pandemic with take out and delivery. I highly recommend their Tuesday deal. If you buy one of their poutine options you can get 10 wings for 60 cents each (up to 30 wings). They have 3 or 4 staple poutine offerings, and usually via their facebook you can find a special poutine of the day. They have a traditional canadian poutine and then a couple with different meat and other toppings. They all sounded good, but since we were getting the wings I just opted for the traditional canadian. The poutine was good, they did not skimp on the cheese curds which is important to me when ordering poutine. The wings were also good, good size and a decent amount of sauce. We got medium, garlic parmesan and ale bbq. The garlic parmesan were good, they had a little kick to them, and the BBQ was tasty as well. A good deal to take advantage of during this pandemic! Our experience was inconsistent. We stood at the "please wait to be seated" sign for an uncomfortable amount of time while staff averted their eyes. The restaurant was at maybe 10% capacity. When we finally got seated the wait staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. The beer was delicious, super delicious and the selection could make any palate happy.
