We talked with Reanna and Michael about how they started their venture. Really nice couple and really nice business. It is worth the trip. There's a ton of comfortable seating whether you sit inside in front of the taps, in front of the window, at the comfy chairs, over in the book nook or outside, there's a great place to kick back and relax. I haven't even got to the beer yet. For a relatively new place (opened in September) they have their shit together. We tried the black IPA and the Citrice IPA. The Witches at black Masses was smoky and full of flavor. The Citrice was crisp and everything you'd like in an IPA. Amarillo hops are one of my favorite, and this beer didn't disappoint. For breweries I'd have to say the eclectic nature of this place, the beautiful countryside and the charisma of the owners make it a standout establishment. Besides the fact that they have a great selection of all kinds of beer. I even tried the Heffy and I liked that as well. Take a drive and make this a tasty rest stop. You won't be sorry...and don't forget to give Mabel a pat on the head.

There is a few tables inside and a few tables outside. Not a big place. There is a whole bar and game room in the basement, but it never seems to be open. I love the selection. The beers are a bit overpriced, but in most cases you can just buy them in singles. So if you want to try something new, it's not a huge commitment! I tried a couple of the thc, cbd, and hop-water beverages that I don't think I would have tried otherwise. They keep a fair selection of cold cans and also have a good selection of taps. We called ahead but they don't take reservations and suggested we come early, as Sue and Doug have "quite a following"! Really nice night at 42 North. The staff are friendly, the BBQ food is good and ya couldn't beat it as the audience let lose and sang along for one song as if they'd done it before! ) Mostly though, it was Doug on guitar and vocals + Sue, vocals and a variety of hand held percussion instruments. I knew it was two vocalists and one guitar but I swear, it sounded like two guitars and one vocalist the way he plucked away and they harmonized!! They made it look easy and fun to do, but their talent didn't happen overnight! Both are seasoned musicians and giggin for tips on a Saturday night! The marbled rye could have been buttered a little more when toasted as well. The amount of meat that it came with though was great and quite hefty. Both sandwiches also came with coleslaw and a pickle spear. The slaw was vinegar based and cut through the heaviness of the meat. I wish the pickle was more crispy though. The pulled pork was basic sauce, it was cooked perfectly, and had some big pieces in there, and wasn't just stringy. Their ordering system is basically contactless ordering. The new way of the world. The only option was"Vodka drink" when I pushed it, it said I needed to go to the bar. They had a couple of cocktails premade, but all with whiskey and gin. When I asked the female Bartender if they can make a Martini. She looked up at some guy, and waited for him to respond. But I quickly jumped in. Before he could say anything. I just asked if she could make one of their signature cocktails they have on the menu. But swap out, the gin for Vodka. I just wanted to keep this moving forward. They said no problem, and were very nice about it. Then I asked them how to order it at the table. They told me to order the gin drink I want, and they will remember to swap it out for me. I was impressed they got that right. For such a vast space, with high ceilings, the acoustics were amazing. It wasn't loud at all. Even the kids seemed to play quietly. When I finally sat down. I saw my BF looked miserable. My own nervous system had been feeling off too, and was a bit unsure. But everyone was super friendly. It just felt like we had an odd amount of super polite attention, that others were not getting. When I took a hard look around, I realized everyone there were dressed similarly, were polite, composed, quiet, having fun, and smiling. They looked like they all came straight from the same church. That's when it hit me, this is a community place with deep roots. They probably don't get many different types of people here. I live in a rural area too, but we are a diverse group of color, culture, and art. It took me a bit off guard.

The space is spacious although in some areas it may be harder to fit a stroller through, but either way the space is very kid and family friendly (we saw many kids and families during our time there!). Service was great and the staff were friendly. The menu is accessed through a QR code via your phone which is at the table. My party ordered the following: - Fried chicken sandwich (b&b pickles, pickled jalapenos, cabbage slaw, and sriracha mayo) - $17 - Porchetta sandwich (slow roasted Italian pork, salsa verde, crispy crackling, arugula) - $17 - House cut fries (old bay, malt vinegar aioli) - $10 - Peach Chardonnay cider from Niagara Cider Company - $10 - Grilled jerk chicken plate (grilled pineapple, house cut fries, red cabbage slaw, cilantro) - $27 I tried the fried chicken sandwich and the porchetta sandwich. Their menu is online and includes small plates and a small selection of changing main features. Start with their spent grain sourdough, marinated olives, and house pickles while you think about it. The beer list includes a few lagers, pale ales, and sours but focuses on the hazy IPAs. And boy are they smooth and flavorful. Singles, doubles, and triples will rival anything you have had anywhere. Ordering and service are on the fly--just stand the QR code flag up at your table for someone to swing by anytime you want something new. A friendly server will get you hooked up with your next plate or libation in no time. As an important aside, kids are welcome, and there is a kids menu available.
