A quaint brewery just off Main street in Perry NY. A friendly environment with plenty of locals enjoying the beer on the snowy day we went. There was a good selection of draft beer that was served with friendly staff. You are allowed to bring in your own food or some from another local restaurant, as they only sell bagged snacks. There are several bar stools along the bar or a number of picnic tables in the main area. It's a good stop when out in the area. There is street parking. read more

Pleasant stop to try Silver Lake's very good brews in the quaint town of Perry. If you're going to Letchworth, stop here AFTER you've hiked the park. Nice open air patio in the back that was dog-friendly with picnic tables. There were also additional picnic tables in the grass adjacent to the building. Not the most scenic of spots as it is overlooking a parking lot. But, hubby said the beer was good and brought some crowlers to take home. read more

Came here for a brew with my dad after fishing I'm the area. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Smaller place, but we were able to find a spot at the bar without an issue. Beers were all solid, but nothing exceptional. Solid place for somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. We come out to this area fishing every year, would be open to returning. read more

This is a very cool little brewery. It was clean and spacious. We sat out back on the deck and enjoyed our beers. I had the Raspberry Sour which was good. It was not as yet as I like my sours to be but it was good enough for me to have two of them. My wife had a flight and really liked their Lineman Pilsner. The beer selection changes all the time as they are just a small batch brewery. They have 10 taps so you are bound to find something you will like. The day we went they did not have any IPA's on tap which is my normal go to beer so I was a little disappointed. But it was a hot day so the sour was a good alternative and lower ABV. read more

This past weekend, on the way home to Buffalo from a beautifully scenic afternoon at Letchworth State Park, our group decided to stop by the Silver Lake Brewing Project in Perry, New York. There truly are quality breweries found just about everywhere these days, and this was no exception. The bar and seating area is spacious enough while maintaining a cozy, small-town feel. The interior plainly and minimally decorated but pleasant nonetheless. I couldn't help but notice that the jovial bar-goers that were featured on the large wall-hung photos, also seemed to be sitting at the bar that very day. I was nearly starstruck! It should first be noted that this brewery strictly serves beer. There were a few varieties of the wonderful New York Chips available for purchase, but do not come here with an appetite and expecting a food menu. They do allow and even encourage outside food to be brought in, however. We ended up ordering a pizza from a nearby establishment just down the road, and they were happy to deliver it to us right inside the brewery. As for the beer, because that's likely why you would come here, there were a couple that really stood out to me. My favorite was called 'The Side Dish.' This calming concoction featured squash flavor, and was hearty and delicious. I also enjoyed their take on the Cream Ale. They had a good number of home brewed varieties, some of which were quite unique. Getting a flight (or two...) here would be the way to go. read more

This cute brewery is dog (and pit bull) friendly!! Can you beat bringing your pup along with you to ty our some new beers?! We grabbed a flight to try out beers on tap such as sours, stouts, and IPAs. All had great flavor and were paired with a warm pretzel. The warm pretzel was just "ehh" and was more of a pretzel croissant than a soft pretzel. I wish there were some light food options to go along with the cold brews but there's plenty of places in the area to grab some dinner afterwards. I really liked that the patio was dog friendly and the staff made a point to make sure our pup was hydrated by providing bowls full of water along with some pets. I had called ahead of time to make sure if we brought our pit bull it wasn't a problem. The lady who answered welcomed Opie and reassured us that they didn't discriminate against breeds as some places do. All in all it was another good visit. read more

Wow!! Stayed at letchworth and decided to stop here on a rainy day. Rustic/ mill feel on the inside, outdoor indoor seating options, friendly staff, and amazing brews. Great selection, loved the cream ale, ipa #19- very smooth, the Buffet jokes which was a pina colada sour, and the hippocampus brew. Wish we lived closer !! Nice to find a brewery with real sour beers, not a novelty, but good beers. Good selection and even an Imperial Cocoa Porter in the summer. The down side is that it is very quiet- the music could have been louder- we felt like we needed to whisper or participate in the conversation with others- over 6 ft away- felt odd. Winter hike in Letchworth? This is the perfect warm and cozy place to thaw off! It's got a nice rustic cabin feel, but with all the modern amenities. A charming aroma of malt and hops. High wooden beams flounced with twinkle lights and edgy industrial chic decor. So much hygge in here. This would make a cool event space, actually. I tried a flight ($7 served in mini stout glasses) with the Winter Warmer, Imperial Stout, Call Me (A Belgian-ish Blonde), and the A. Stout. All excellent! I wish this beer was closer to home! They also have some food courtesy of Hole in the Wall, Perry- it's actually food delivered from around the corner. Didn't try it but the wings smelled incredible. This place is a great little brewery! We try to stop each time we visit Letchworth State Park. The beer selection is getting better each time we visit. It was a limited selection the first time we came but the most recent time they had guest taps and more to try! There is a nice patio and a spacious indoor seating area. Awesome awesome beer, great staff, really cool atmosphere. Silver Lake Brewing Project has only been open a few months but they have their stuff together. There wasn't on beer that I didn't enjoy but the standout was the Quincy Brown Ale. Malty, vanilla-y, and all around just a solid beer. If it wasn't for the fact that it would have been sitting in my car for two days, I would have most certainly bought a growler of this frothy brew. The staff was very attentive as well, and even recommended a local dinner spot (The Hole in the Wall) which ended up being fantastic. I can't wait to stop back when I'm in Perry and try out the rest of the beers. Plus, their logo is a Sea Serpent! How cool is that?! read more

We stopped in on our way back to Rochester from the Buffalo area. Perry may be a bit off the major travel routes but this craft brewery is well worth the trip even if you are not in the vicinity. We had a flight and enjoyed each beer. The staff, and patrons were really friendly. The space is terrific - comfortable and relaxed with an outdoor patio. We have been to MANY of the breweries in the region and Silver Lake is among the top for a great experience. read more

This is a great little brewery, with a surprising variety of beer styles, especially for its size. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time. The servers are friendly and know their beer. I enjoyed each of the house brews, and the Little Bird Grisette was my favorite. read more

Haven't been to the actual location, but I just tried their beers at an event in Rochester. Tried the schwartzbier dark lager and the Pilsner. Both were fantastic!! Out of the two, I preferred the schwartzbier -- really great, smooth chocolate/coffee flavor without feeling too heavy! The Pilsner was great, too, though. It had almost a mild IPA taste to it, very nice! The woman who presented the beer was great, too, she gave a very interesting little history of Perry, NY, and how they found their name. I hope to visit one day, thanks for coming up to Rochester! read more

After visiting Silver Lake for a few summers, finally noticed this gem of a place this past weekend. They have excellent brews and the atmosphere is awesome. The two young bartenders were very friendly, knowledgeable, and very excited to be there which made all the difference in the experience. This is a nice little place set in a quiet little town. The building is small and quaint but the use of reclaimed materials all have an interesting story. The service here has always been impeccable. The beer doesn't disappoint - there is always a good variety though, I like their sours best. They recently had a raspberry cream ale that was delicious. Without a kitchen, they've done their best to incorporate some offerings of local snacks (ie chips made w local potatoes, cheese boxes from local creamery) - all delicious. They've also partnered with a local restaurant to provide delivery service (pizzas and wings though, if you call them, they'd deliver anything on their full menu, within reason). There are so many breweries popping up all over, I can't take this One for granted. They've really hit it out of the park. read more

Beautiful adaptation of old building makes this an enjoyable place to sit and have a few of their original and tasty brews. I enjoyed trying a spectrum from light to dark in a flight. Helpful staff made choices easier. Nice atmosphere to socialize and drink good beer. (Barky White Dog was our group's favorite.) read more

This young brewery is doing everything right. The historic building is a former livery stable, which then was converted into a movie theater when movies were a new thing. The beer selection has something for every taste- IPA's, fruited wheat beers, amber ales, stouts, lagers. I personally like that there are no TV's blaring and that the music isn't played so loudly that you have to shout to be heard by your tablemates. They don't have a kitchen there, but you can order, and have delivered, certain foods like wood fired pizza and salads from an excellent local restaurant, the Hole in the Wall. Artisanal cheese plates from the local cheesery, East Hill Creamery, also are available. What's fun is that, if you enjoyed the cheese and want to get some to purchase, the creamery is right down the road, but if they're not open, don't worry! They have an outdoor cheese vending machine! The bags of potato chips available at the bar are also locally made. Bring your growler to fill up or you can have crowlers filled there with a beer you enjoyed to sip on later at home. Silver Lake Brewing is just a relaxed, pleasant place to sit with friends and chat while enjoying some good, locally made beer. I highly recommend it. read more
