"She's a witch of trouble in electric blue In her own mad mind, she's in love with you With you, now what you gonna do? Strange brew, killin' what's inside of you" (Cream) I just read that Strange Design was Geneseo's first brewery. It's inside an ancient brick mill building up on the second floor. We had an excellent lunch today. It was excellent for three reasons. Reason #1 was our beers. We each drank Emmeline (5.2% and 22 IBU. It's a Scottish 80 schilling ale with "Caramel and toffee notes". It was light, super drinkable, very refreshing and delicious. Reason #2 was our food. My wife had a Grilled Turkey Pesto Sandwich ($15.50) with turkey, provolone, and a basil pesto on grilled sourdough bread. I had a Farmhouse Cheddar Burger ($16.50) with BBQ sauce, cheddar, bacon, and crispy onions. I loved my burger! Both are offered with fries or a side salad. We both had the fries, and they were crispy, piping hot and excellent. Reason #3 was our server, Ryan. She was an absolute delight to deal with. She was funny, informative, friendly, and just plain great. Nothing strange about Strange Design. We loved it a lot.

Stopped here for lunch while on our way to Silver Lake, definitely a hidden gem!! Food was very good (Greek Salad for my husband and I had Chicken Tenders with hand cut fries). Beer was really good too! Ryan was our server, she was super friendly and most helpful regarding the area and suggested places we should explore while visiting the area and Letchworth State Park. Would go back for sure!

Public House had terrible service when I visited. There were very few servers so most likely this was caused by piss-poor management. Five of us were sat at a small table perched on a single stool. It took 15 mins for a server to come and take our drink order. We were not checked on for another 1.5 hours until our food came out. One member of the party had her food delivered to another table! After having to find the serving station to get silverware and napkins for the table, we had enough. We complained and finally got the members food. My dish, the chicken finger plate can maybe feed a small child and they hardly give you sauce. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Go to the Village Tavern instead.

What a delightful discovery in the heart of Livingston County. you walk up all the stairs, or take the elevator if you need to, to this 19th century venue. The items on the menu are very interesting. Their assortment of beers is excellent. The wait staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. Do try the raspberry beer and the citrus beer, currently numbers 15 and 13 on their menu. The brussels sprouts nachos, their specials, didn't disappoint. If the next time I show up, I get a repeat performance, I will change this to a five star review.

First timer there . We thought it was a very cozy and had a great ambiance. Our bartender Sydney, was very good and nice . Drinks were great and food was very tasty and well presented!

Great service, great beers, and absolutely delicious, unique food. Also love that there's always some good tunes playing. Some of our favorites are the mockingbird fried chicken sandwich (the sauce is ), the brussel sprout nachos, the grits, and whatever the flatbread special of the week is, always kills. Also, highly recommend the lilac gin with lemonade!

This place never disappoints. It's a small business with a home town feel. We love the nachos and the beer is divine.

The food is really great! The service is even better. I can't recommend this place early enough. I will probably go over there tonight.

NYC food at starving college student prices! Listen, when I go to a town, I make it my mission to…read morefind the best pizza, the best taco and the best burger. I was in town for a wedding and Mama Mia's definitely clinches the best pizza around. I'm a Chicago boy but I love my NYC style, too, and this place hits it out of the park. I'm surprised the ratings aren't higher. The restaurant is located on the Main Street of a cute college town (SUNY Geneseo). At Mama Mia's I ate the Bianca (white pizza with ricotta is how I judge all NY style pizza places), which was rich and garlicky and delicious. The Sausage and the mushroom pizzas were fantastic as well. The owner, Eddie (from Brooklyn, I found out), was making the pies when I walked in. I saw some slices behind the counter with shaved ham and sesame seeds on the crust. He asked me what I was looking at and I told him I wanted to make sure there was no pineapple. He laughed and said, "No judgement" -- I told him I do judge and I'm glad no pineapple was in sight! He took a slice and heated it up and gave it to me to eat (for free!) while I was waiting for the rest of my order. The sesame seeds on the crust were a revelation!! I loved the place so much I came back a second time a day later. If you are looking for fantastic NY pizza, this is the place. Oh, and the chicken Caesar salad was really good, too.

Pizza is decent, drink selection could be better. Gatorade is a good option though. For the love of…read moregod, though, they need functional AC. Mostly just a nostalgia blast for alumni from my point of view, but still worth a visit for a slice.
