I wanted to like this place but just didn't love the beer or the vibe. The coffee stout was good but the other beers were just mid in my opinion. The space was a little awkward with relatively limited room/seating, the staff wasn't overly friendly... and the bathroom was a bit grimy. We enjoyed visiting the wizard of clay next door which kind of saved us from feeling like we wasted the trip out, but we won't go out of our way to return. I just felt like I couldn't relax here. There was someone setting up a bunch of food trays in the taproom and I couldn't figure out what was going on there, but it made it difficult to just chill. read more

I make a trip out to Noble Shepherd every time I come home to NY not just because I know Tony and Jess, but because this is a truly great brewery! Tony is a true craftsman when it comes to creating new and unique beers, you can't go wrong with anything they have on tap! Housed next to The Wizard of Clay Pottery, you can buy mugs and steins created just for the brewery. There's plenty of parking and the building the brewery is housed in is so cool. Pretzels and popcorn are free for the taking and more often than not Pad Thai catering is there as well. Feel free to bring your dog, they are allowed inside. Careful or you could miss it! On my second trip back from visiting my parents, I noticed the small sign pointing up the road for this brewery. With a little spare time, I turned off the main road to find this place. It was worth the slight detour and the bonus is that it is next to the Wizard of Clay outlet! Gifts of all sorts with one stop! Inside there are a few tables and a small bar, but there is also a heated tent attached to the back with some more tables. I believe they had 7 on tap and you can do flights of 4. I chose My Man Sam, Bristol Trail Ale, Vanilla & Coffee Bean Stout, and the Mise en Place. I am usually an IPA and stout type of person, but my favorite of the 4 was the Mise en Place. It was a fruited sour w/ mangos, chardonnay, raspberries, and basil. The taste was refreshing and so different. I was super impressed with the creative and lovely combination. The other beers were good too, but pretty standard, which I do not mean at all in a negative way. They were smooth and went down too easily. There were no cans available when I was there, but you could get crowlers of anything on tap. I took two home as gifts for friends. I will be sure to stop again when I am back in town. read more

Really nice lil brewery, I can't have beer cause I'm Celiac but I thought I would check it out. They have a nice variety of beer heard a lot of good feedback from others that were drinking said it was really good. The service was great I was able to buy a coffee mug and a shirt that I'll use for sure. The atmosphere was great had college football on and good music. This is our new favorite local brewery. It's down the road from a much larger brewery but this was by far superior!! We thought their sour was out of this world. It was made with Sauvignon blanc grapes and it had tastes of basil in it. So unique and I would go out of my way to get more again! They have a small outdoor patio that gets lots of sun. We stopped in to Noble Shepard on a Saturday afternoon and were delighted to find really well made craft beer and a charming bartender who happened to be the brewer! I typically don't expect diverse flavor profiles in a newer craft brewery but happily report that Noble Shepard is an exception. We had a flight of 6 ($8) which included all the beers they had on tap. My favorites were the Farmhouse Basil and the Coconut Porter. Both were outstanding examples of their style and I could drink both of them all day. The flavor is pleasant but not overwhelming. Noble Shepard is a beer only place, which is fine with me but good to know if you're visiting with friends. Pretzels and popcorn are free, and food trucks come on some weekend nights. Noble Shepard is housed in a Wizard of Clay building to it's a cool architectural spot too. This is definitely worth a stop. My recommendation for a day trip is Nedloh Brewing, Noble Shepard and kayaking at Canadice Lake Outfitters! read more

I went here with my family on a late Friday night, they had live music which was nice. It's a smaller place shaped in a circle, so it gets crowded pretty quick. I had their chocolate coffee stout and absolutely loved it! Their prices were very reasonable and they sell a bunch of clothing's and mugs with their name on it. I really enjoyed it here, I just wish it was a little bigger since it gets crowded quick. Since all the tables were taken we did have to stand, but overall it's a cute place to visit and try one of their beers! read more

The beer was quite good, I will say that. I had the passion bucket and it was fantastic. I also had the coffee stout and that too was delicious. Now, why the three stars? When my family and I walked in the townies were all staring at us and it went instantly quiet. It was like hello have you ever seen another person that is not from this town? While the townies admired our beauty, we were blasted with a nasty aroma that smelled like the combination of bleach and food. There is limited seating and it's a small place. We had to stand till we were halfway finished we our beers. This seems to be a place where you fill up a growler, rather than enjoy your beer there. That being said, we did go on a weekend. Pros: -Consistently quality beer -Seriously good wings & Asian entrees (note however that food is served only certain days/times) -Really unique space, including a backyard area where kids can play -Very friendly service; bartenders helpful in finding styles to suit different peoples' tastes Cons: -There is only one I can think of and it's the reason for 3 stars not 5, and that is their pet policy (or lack thereof?). Dogs traipsing around unleashed asking/begging for the food that customers are eating. (The couple next to us was clearly annoyed about this last time we were there.) And this is inside, not outside. I am sure some will see this as a pro rather than a con, but to me it doesn't seem 100% sanitary, and I frankly don't understand how it isn't a NYS health code violation. read more

We love this place! Sometimes the quality of all these new craft breweries can be kind of "meh". Not here! This place is awesome in so many ways. First, they are do craft beer the right way. Smooth, drinkable and just delicious. If you are lucky enough to catch their "blood orange" hefeweizen, you'll be hooked! Their cucumber saison is great too! I'm not a huge IPA drinker, but my husband is and loves them all. The atmosphere is great too- we've met some friendly people. There's definitely a "regular crowd" type vibe, but everyone is welcoming to newcomers. Also, best of all, they allow well-behaved dogs inside. Great for those winter months when we want to go out but don't want to leave our dog home alone. They do keep the place very clean and there's free popcorn and pretzels. Checked out this place for this time and was very impressed with their beer. Great prices, good variety, and a unique building (Geodesic dome) make it a fine place to stop on the Finger Lakes Beer Trail. I was especially impressed with their Bourbon Coffee Stout. It was well-balanced and not overwhelming with Bourbon flavor like some other Bourbon beers I've had. read more
