Had a company event at the Other Half location in Bloomfield and it was really great. The location is set in a beautiful wooden barn like structure in a country setting with a food truck in the back, along with a nice fire pit area and fields that had yard games and plenty of room for people that brought their well behaved dogs with them. Staff was kind, friendly, and extremely accommodating. The food was more than what I would have expected from a brewery- it was delicious!! From the burgers to the BLT sandwiches and specials fig grilled cheese- it was all terrific! Highly recommend checking this spot out! read more

The parking was the worst I have ever seen. Cars were lined up from the brewery all the way to the main road. You couldn't even pull into the brewery unless someone pulled out. So most breweries are known for either of their beer or their food but rarely both. The other half focuses on their beer, which is outstanding if you like New England hazy IPAs. They are some of the best in the country. Their food is supplied by a food truck that's permanently located behind their beautiful building. The food consists of mostly bar type appetizers and sandwiches which is probably smart keeping things simple. The big draw here is their award-winning beer, which is outstanding. Flights would be a great way to see what you like but you really can't go wrong with any of their choices if you like hazy IPA's. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff there to help direct you to your best choices. They've recently added local finger Lakes wines for those who prefer not to drink beer. read more

One of my favorite all time breweries not just because the beer is great, but the people are amazing! Enter into a family atmosphere with warm welcomes and the spacious tasting room. They have trivia Thursday nights 6pm with Maeve and she is awesome! You can always taste a beer before you order or try a flight and enjoy the tastes of different hopped beers. They also have sours, n/a beer, other styles of beer, and wine. Check online for the food truck days and hours the food is delicious. If you prefer to enjoy your beverage outside the outdoor area is immense. Fire pit, picnic tables, cornhole, field to play football, kids love the open space, and dog friendly. A gorgeous place/ a must visit if you love Other Half beer. This place is like a cute boutique for IPA lovers. My significant other loves this beer so we had to stop when we drove through and had some time. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, casual yet upscale and dog friendly. They serve varieties of their own beer, local wines and some cocktails. There are also some very light snacks on the menu and food trucks on site during busy times. In the entrance there is literally a boutique with branded merchandise and beer to go. We picked up some goodies on the way out. This place is beautiful - inside and out. Set on a large plot of beautiful country land with plenty of fire pits and fun and games outside (the games werent available to due COVID, but normally there is plenty to do!) There are plenty of tables and booths for small or large parties inside. There didn't appear to be any food menu available besides the small COVID required snack options - popcorn, meat sticks, pickle, etc. They did have a BBQ food truck fundraiser going on while we were there and the bartender said they almost always have some kind of food truck available. There is no table service so if you want a drink, you have to go up to the bar and order it. They have alot of different craft beer selections. I guess they normally have a sour "crumbler" that they switch out with different flavors, the one we had was a raspberry snowball one which tastes like a tootsie pop. There were many different porters available in pours or bottles and those were incredible! Great place to spend time with friends and family. Had a total blast and would love to go again! read more

Been enjoying their beer for some time now, just missing out on visiting their finger lakes location... well that happened over a girls weekend getaway. It was the highlight for me! Super excited pulling up , arrived just after they opened at 10am. Located in Bloomfield on 5 and 20, close to Canandaigua Lake. Checked out the inside first, small area to order beer to go and tshirts. There is a huge area of orders ready to be picked up... We went right up to Oder some tasty beers. Large chalkboard with all options, wish they offered a fight but they do have tasting sizes. Round one I went with choppin Broccoli, Patio Fun and no escape from wester ny. They did not disappoint, full of flavor and just on a different level than other beers. Took our drinks out back, to their large open area. So many picnic tables and barrel tables to sit relax and drink. Loved the overhead netting to help with shade. Large fire pit they had going.A few outside games available, ask staff for corn hole bags. We played a little as I enjoyed round 2, a tall sized patio fun Had to pick up some beers to go, a 4 pack of their 2.5 anniversary IPA (amazing) and a 4 pack of hot dogs are tacos ( very smooth Pilsner) picked up some tshirt too! SO happy I finally made my way out to Bloomfield to experience Other Half! It such a special place with some amazing beers, views, staff, and dogs. I cannot wait to come back in the fall once the leaves have changed (it was already starting!) to sit and enjoy a beer with a view of the fall foliage. They don't technically do flights here, but I knew I wanted to order a wide variety of beers. I went with four 4oz pours and I think this is a great (though not terribly economic) way to experience OHBC's brews. The watermelon sour tasted like a jolly rancher and was my favorite after taste. The churro stout was...CRAZAY. At 14% ABV (didn't realize that until after) this beer packs a PUNCH! It tastes and drinks a little like syrup and weighed me down after three or four sips. The other two light beers I had (a citra and the bagel & schmear) were favorites and I can't wait to get back and try more ASAP. This brewery is SO creative and finds unique ways to connect with the communities they are in. I am obsessed with their can design and it took everything in me not to grab some merch. I know branding and design isn't everything (it is about the BEER), but I really like when bizzes who have the ability take the time to tell their story in every facet of the business. OH does that so successfully and I feel lucky to have them just a quick 30 minutes drive from ROC. Get there to enjoy the outdoors before the weather turns, y'all! read more

We visited on Saturday and upon walking thru the door we were met by a blanket on the floor with three babies crawling around on it. Also many other kids were running around inside. It was a busy day and it didn't seem appropriate for that type of establishment. While we enjoy visiting local breweries we have decided that we may skip this one in the future for one where it feels more like an adult atmosphere. read more

Came here for the first time and was surprised by the size of this place! We sampled many of the beers and I really didn't pay attention to names. The beers come in four oz and also standard size. Among the ones we've tried probably six to seven kinds, the coffee one which is the dark beer but no foam unlike Guinness, was the worst because it tasted medicinal and cloyingly sweet. That was the only one. We loved the others. And that was the lesson: try before you decide. This place is dog friendly and there was a food truck outside. You only get very light snacks like popcorn and chips on the premise. I think you can also just bring your own food and have a picnic. You get glasses when you sit indoor and you get plastic cups if you're outside. Will definitely come back again! read more

So happy this place finally opened!! We've gotten their cans for a while now with various releases and beer trades from NYC. But the taproom opening really seals the deal for us to come here from Buffalo. With 20 taps, there's more than enough to try. The only thing that really gets me is that the pours are only 10oz across the board mostly. The board of drafts is colorful but the separate lists for growlers really helps when picking some beer to-go. Snacks galore which is a plus for that feeling you get after having a few beers. They have cans to go as well. The place is very open, wide windows for looking outside to let the sunlight in and the other side lets you look into the brewing process. My favorite is the banister along the one wall creates a speakeasy so you can stand and drink after a long drive. We made a day trip to try breweries in the Finger Lakes area. Other Half was an enjoyable visit as they had several tents set up on the hill behind the brewery where you could be in the shade while enjoying your beer. There was a chicken & waffles food truck there for food options. The outside area was dog friendly and our 2 Pekes were able to make friends with a French Bulldog puppy. I've been to the Orher Half in Brooklyn and everything about the experience lived up to it's original location. Beer is top notch quality and with great variety. They are known for their hazy IPAs, but there is something for everyone on the menu. Tried a sour this last time with green tea, guava, and lime and thought it was excellent (Peabody Punch). They always have very chill music playing; everyone seems to have a great attitude there. It could be because we all love good beer and good vibes. I love the Other Half. The staff is knowledgeable and very passionate about their craft. They are also eager to share their beer and brewing information with you. I usually love my beers as cold as possible. When I'm home, I put them in the freezer before drinking. I've learned that some beers shouldn't be that cold; you miss out on all of the flavors that the beer has to offer. My only complaint could be that they do not serve food here. However, you can bring your own food, or you can order food and have it delivered. I wish they had a menu for surrounding restaurants but in the end, you can always just use your phone. If you haven't been to Other Half it's definitely a must-try. So this place is a 45 minute drive from my house - but I knew it would be worth the trip! I organized about 10 friends to go to Other Half in Bloomfield on a nice Saturday afternoon. It was pretty busy when we got there - many cars with families with kids, dogs, and busses with bigger groups. They have a large choice of beers on tap and more in the can. They don't do flights but you can order 4 oz. or 10 oz. glasses. Close enough! I started out with 2 different IPAs- one with Mosaic and one with Citra Hops. They sure do IPAs right here. But they also offer (look at my pic of the draft beer selection) many styles of stout, porter, lagers, sours/ and when the Citra IPA ran out- they wrote in a new one! Outdoors has seating at picnic tables- and lawn games like Cornhole. They had a Pizza food truck outside too- $11-12 for a medium sized wood fired pie. We had 3 of them. Awesome! You can also bring your own snacks- and we did. The indoors had a decent amount of tables- and 2-3 TVs where we watched the Yankee game. Go Yanks! They played 90s bump music which we started grooving to after the hops kicked in. And you can take 4 packs home with you too. All in all an awesome place and well worth the trip! read more

OH is one of the best breweries I've been to. Great beer and a variety that's always changing. However on this visit I am dropping my rating from 5 stars to only 1. Let me explain. We (my wife and I) came and sat outside while enjoying a few 4oz tasters. It was a beautiful day with great weather and great beers to match...but the music, which was playing at pretty loud volume was offensive. Like seriously, truly, offensive. My wife and I ruffled when we heard the first F-bomb. We thought it was a one off, but then the F-bombs kept freely flowing on the music choice along with a bunch of B words for a female dog and to top it all off a bunch of N words. I don't think we're prude in being offended by this kind of language. We've been here before and sat outside and very much enjoyed the vibe. But this was different. If the vibe of music choice doesn't change - we will never sit outside here again. The kicker was that I actually asked to speak to the manager and when I explained to him the reason for my offense, his response was basically "That's just our vibe here; sorry if you were offended" I even tried the concept that I've seen families here - maybe it would be a good idea to not have music with F-bombs; B words, and N words might not be family appropriate, but nothing changed. It was the same basic response. "Sorry, but that's our vibe" It's disappointing that a place of this high caliber of beer has such low standards for the "vibe" they present. I don't feel it's out of line to say those kind of music lyrics is offensive. I'm not of the "customer is always right" kind of guy, but I really felt this was minimized. And it's not like it was occasional - it was a barrage of offensive lyrics through literally every song we sat through for the time we were there. We left far sooner than we planned due to this and as stated - I don't think I'll ever sit there again to enjoy my beer if the "vibe" of terribly offensive lyrics doesn't change. If you want great beer, by all means go there, but if the kind of language I mentioned offends you - don't sit in or outside cause apparently that's their "vibe." read more

This was my first time at this location. I have been to their Brooklyn location before which i loved. I wondered if they would be able to match that experience at their Bloomfield location. They did not let me down. If you like IPA's this is a must stop location. They had 16 different IPA's on tap and I loved all the ones I tried. They were all different yet similar. I love the variety of hops they use to create unique taste profiles. They also had one sour which was also very good. I will be going back many times. When you walk into this brewery you feel like your waking into a giant modern barn style open beam building. There is a long bar against one side and plenty of tables around to fit a large crowd. Outside there are numerous picnic tables along with games like cornhole and giant jinga. The view looking out over the farms is beautiful. The parking lot is not paved and is covered with loose stone. There is a small concrete pad area for handicap parking. The lot is big with plenty of parking space. read more

We brought sandwiches and planned on going for about an hour for lunch, but ended up staying for about 3.5 hours. The beer was very good. I ended up sticking with their hazy IPAs. My wife enjoyed a mimosa. Our toddler found a friend, our dog found a friend, and my wife and I had great conversation with some people. It's also very nice to enjoy the view of the lush rolling hills of Rochester's countryside. Definitely recommend. The only downside was perhaps their strange choice in music. I don't mind all genres of music, but when it's seemingly a family-friendly place with dozens of children around, maybe sensor the rap. Good thing we sat towards the back of the field, because I wouldn't want my son listening to the curse words, nor did I want to hear it either on a peaceful Saturday. read more

If you're into beer surly you've heard of Other Half. They've had a location in Brooklyn for some time and just recently opened one up in the Rochester area. They took over the old Nedloh building and made the inside their own, the outside is similar. Benches and high-top long tables are inside and picnic benches are spread around outside. Other Half is known for their Imperial IPAs and they dominate their draft list. They are hoppy and so good. Their NEIPAs and Oat Cream IPAs are less hop-forward and easy drinking for the ABVs...dangerously delicious! Their stouts and porters are dessert...this is no joke, they are thick and creamy. Each one has well over 10% ABV but the flavor (cocoa nibs, vanilla, coconut, coffee, etc.) packed in the brew covers it well. Other Half Rochester was hyped for awhile and it delivered...awesome beer at an equally awesome location! Can't wait to return and try some new styles! read more

Came a ways out of our way to visit here on our way to the Finger Lakes, and was ecstatic we did. Other Half's reputation for making some of the best IPAs drew us in, and if remotely close again, we would definitely return. We came right after they opened on a Friday and it was very peaceful. Not a ton of customers yet and a beautiful day to sit outside. Their staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and as always there beer is incredible. They are the only brewery I'm familiar with that makes oat cream IPAs, which are out of this world. I'm very excited that they now distribute more, so when I visit my parents, I can load up on their beers. This is well worth your trip to get some outstanding beers. read more

The one lager (Tumbleweeds Helles) I found was good and my wife had the Double Orange Chroma that was tasty. Also no flights were offered. You could buy a 4 ounce glass for $4, which is kind of ridiculous. As I mentioned above, lots of IPAs of apparently trendy flavors (mashed potatoes, banana coconut, broccoli....seriously?) and fruity beers that hipsters enjoy.
