Amazing food and coffee and prices. Why would anyone go to TH or DD when this exists!

We stopped here on the way to farmers markets and other stops for my mom's birthday weekend. It's a very cute coffee shop, with perfect use of their pun by having typewriters as the accent key pieces on display and decoupaged newspapers for table covering and counter covering. I got an iced coffee with lavender syrup and a gluten free chocolate fudge cookie with Oreo crumbles in it. Service was very prompt and friendly. We ordered at the counter and then hit the road. I'm sorry to say I didn't take more photos of this cute little place though. Coffee was excellent, cookie was gooey and good. read more

Lunch - Very good size portions for the price. I have a couple pictures of the menu, but I think my grilled chicken salad was $11.45. The dressing on the side as it always comes was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit for somewhat healthy lunch options, the inside is cute all old typewriters up on the wall. Definitely a place worth visiting again, can't comment on the coffee, but the service and food were excellent. read more

Yum. What a lunch rush! I had a cup of Ethiopian drip coffee, a sandwich and a smoothie. It wasa big order but I don't know what I was getting into since this store is new to me. (One of those was going to fill me up!) The sandwich was a panini and it was pretty tasty. I was starved. The smoothie wasn't my favorite. The store was ultra busy so I didn't want to bother them with it. The staff was super friendly and kind. I worked here for about an hour and it stayed busy but not like the lunch crush I walked into. Came here with my book club for lunch and had a great time with friends in a cute space. The food and drinks were just OK, though I am not a coffee drinker so can't comment on that. The service was OK, no real acknowledgement from any of the workers when approaching the counter, they certainly were busy with previous orders, but took quite a while to come and take my order. I ordered the greek wrap, adding chicken and a mango pineapple smoothie. The greek wrap was OK, very heavy on the lettuce and not much of the other stuff at all. I don't like when wraps are soaked in dressing, but there felt like there was none. The chips were good. I did not enjoy the smoothie at all, it just tasted weird, no good pineapple or mango flavor, maybe it was an off batch? Overall It was an OK experience, I would probably opt for other nearby establishments in future outings. read more

Cute, hipster-like atmosphere. I got an iced vanilla latte with almond milk (they were out of oat milk) and an egg, avocado, pepperjack on a croissant. The latte was OK - if I were to judge it by the following scale, I'd give it a 3.5: Coffee Scale: 1 - Gas station coffee 2 - Dunkin' Donuts 3 - Starbucks 4 - Tatte, Pavement, Nero, etc. (above average) 5 - Exceptional, speechless, life changing It was better than Starbucks quality (and trust me, I love my Starbucks), but lacking in its depth compared to other higher end coffee places. The sandwich was OK. Similar to what I would make myself at home with no additional flavoring (like sauces and such), clean, etc. The price was also pretty good as well. read more

Immediately as you walked in, this little coffee shop reminded me of a twist of modern and walking back in time. The staff are welcoming, friendly and the place is very homey feel. There's a couch, cool Tic Tic toe game, artistic tables that were creativly made from old newspaper, more cofy love seat style chairs as well. My main reason to check this place out in the area, were the wall of typewriters, and the wall hanging next too it, gave a glimpse into simpler ( non- computer) times. I know my mom would have loved seeing the styles of type writers, being that she something she used before computers were big. Im sure she was smiling down, and happy that I went to check it out. Their menu had a nice selection of drinks, smoothies, salads, wraps,breakfast( served all day), lunch. etc., My selection was the Mirror..a breakfast sandwich with a fresh crossient, egg, advocado, provolone cheese. The sandwich almost looked too perfect too eat. This treasure of a place is located off Main St in Batavia,NY... opened three years ago. The coffee is delish, the candy corn cap is amazing. They also partner with a home based bakery in Corfu. Everything is very good there. They do wine also but never tried it. Might have to come back for lunch again soon. They have a really good pesto Caprese sandwich. The place is clean and tastefully decorated. Great place for a breakfast or lunch date. I absolutely love this place! It's in the perfect spot when I'm making a trip to or from Cleveland to home. I love to be able to hop off the Thruway and eat local instead of the chains. This time around I was so excited to see their specials. I love Gilmore Girls so of course all their specialty coffees spoke to me. I got the Lorelai. and it was the perfect blend!!! I got the tribune wrap and it was super delicious. I love the combo of turkey, cheddar and apple. The crunch from the apples makes the sandwich! I got it on a wrap instead because it's easier to handle while on the road! I highly recommend stopping by this place if you're in town or if you're on the Thruway and need a break! It's just a short drive off the exit and you'll be happy you made the trip!!! read more

Food is good and prices are reasonable but the ordering system is terrible. They should call order numbers to avoid people snagging the wrong drink. Older customers would probably prefer to get orders to go since the noise level can make it hard for them to hear conversation. Staff is friendly and polite! read more

I found myself fairly disappointed with this place and the customer service left a lot to be desired. From the minute we walked in to this very nice looking place, the cashier seemed disinterested and rather bothered by our presence. During ordering a friend of the staff came in and then we began to be totally ignored. I had to actually interrupt the cashier to finish my order so I didn't stand there listening to their long conversation. I ordered the Journal sandwich on everything bagel and it was dry and really not impressive overall. We got a maple pecan scone which was okay and I had the chocolate coconut caramel which was pretty good overall. The pricing wasn't too bad overall but the food was mediocre and the service just plain sucked. I was really disappointed by the experience because it seemed like a place that would be pretty good. Visited this place twice while I was in town from California and really enjoyed it. Very peaceful environment, perfect place for devotional time or to catchup on work emails. The coffee was wonderful (ordered a latte) and their mirror breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel was delicious. Finally made it out to The Coffee Press and am SO glad I did! Obviously it was an order-n-go situation because of COVID-19, but next time I'll enjoy the interior more and hang out. It's super welcoming and warm inside. I ordered a Macchiato (bonus points for having so many sugar free flavor shots!) and two medium roast drip coffees. My macchiato was perfect- strong and not too sweet (2 SF vanilla pumps and 1 caramel). I also was sure to grab a mini egg marshmallow treat from @morningsunrisebakes.. wow. Delish! A great place to do some work, stop in for a lunch date with a friend, or grab some dinner to go. We stopped by on our way from Rochester to Buffalo and got delicious sandwiches and a chai tea latte to go. The woman working at the time was friendly and offered suggestions, the ambiance was super cool and calming, and there were so many food and drink options! I'm honestly sad this isn't closer to home. Kid-Friendly: There was an adorable bookshelf with kids books and a full changing table in the bathroom. Batavia has been in desperate need of a coffee shop for a while. Yes, we have 2 Tim Hortons and 2 Dunkin' Donuts but those aren't the kind of place you want to go hang out for a couple of hours with friends while you catch up with noisy, crowded, brightly lit spaces. We used to have Main Street Coffee, which was lovely, attached local music talent, and was a great place to just hang out. After they closed, we had a branch of the Canadian chain Coffee Culture, but that too closed (years ago). Enter The Coffee Press! Located in a space that has hosted so many failed restaurants and yogurt shops, I hope this is a new chapter for 13 Jackson!The owner has also run the successful, long term (and neighboring) restaurant/bar Bourbon & Burger, so he knows how to sustain a restaurant, which I think we all know is a difficult industry to flourish in. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, exposed brick, leather chairs, vintage looking tables and Edison bulbs make this the kind of place you could definitely get cozy in. But it's not dark, lots of natural light from the windows make for pleasant lighting. I'm reviewing this less than 2 weeks after they've opened, so I'm definitely receptive to anything they change. They have a pretty small menu of breakfast sandwiches (on your choice of bagel) and lunch items, plus a selection of daily soups, in addition to their coffee options. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I got a chai latte, and it was decent. I could deal with it having a little more flavor, but I'd get it again. For breakfast, I got a Mirror on an everything bagel (egg, bacon, cheese, avocado). Honestly, I had high hopes and it just didn't do much for me. The bagel tasted like it was something out of the frozen section and the bacon was thin and (i think) microwaved. I just wanted more but it wouldn't deter me from coming back or seeing if things change in the future. Overall, I think it's a coffee place that does food, and it's a niche that has been missing. There were some toaster issue and had to wait longer than we expected, but the staff was very friendly and hardworking managing them all. Abundant seating inside and some outside. I loved the interior design, including the wall of typewriters. It really inspires creativity, perhaps there will be future JK Rowlings among visitors, writing a masterpiece while having their coffee. Very cozy, comfortable atmosphere.
