The first time I went here it was to try the all you can eat sushi and I brought my mom with me. The sushi was amazing but the service was on a rockstar level. Feliz, went above and beyond to accommodate us and I didn't really ask for anything out of the ordinary, I just asked for some paper towels from the hand sink to wipe my nose because what I was eating was spicy lead to a runny nose....we have all been there when eating spicy food. Feliz brought me a kitchen towel. I didn't want to soil this towel with my snot and I know the kitchen staff would rather put that towel to better use. Feliz, instead brought me paper napkins when all I asked for was just the rough stuff to wipe our hands clean on after we wash our hands just to wipe my nose. From that point I KNEW that Feliz is awesome at what she does. The second time I went to Ume with my dad and roommate we got a different server, not Feliz. My roommate and I both opted for the all you can sushi and dad ordered a la carte. The first thing the server started with was that those who order all you can eat sushi must not share and cannot take leftovers home....I know how all you can eat works! I don't need a server to tell me or make me feel like a child by explaining "the rules" to me. Strike and a miss! I immediately requested a new server because a great server or service doesn't make you feel like you're being talked to like a child or criminal, which is how this person made me feel. I see Feliz working the floor and I asked her to be my server again after I explained to her my experience with the previous server and she was more than happy to oblige. Great service again and she fixed the drink order that the previous server botched. Tonight we took my mom in for Mexican Mother's Day this time. I had called earlier in the day to try to reserve a table. The woman on the phone explained to me that they were not taking reservations because they were "booked" but we're welcomed come find a table that would not be guaranteed for a party of eight. This woman on the phone came off curt and I felt brushed off at some point as I was trying to figure out if they'd take us in as a walk in. The woman on the phone made me feel like we would not get a table as a walk. The time came to take mom for dinner and we rolled the dice and went anyway. The restaurant was less than busy for a Friday night and we received a table for a party of eight with the agreement that there would be an 18% gratuity added to the bill...no problem. As soon as I saw Feliz the server I immediately requested her as our server because she fuckin rocks! Right off the bat she accommodated us while we waited for the rest of our party to show up. The rest of our party ran late and only two of five showed up. After that I went to Feliz and asked her if they would rather put us at a smaller table because I didn't feel comfortable taking a big tablet if it meant that they could potentially lose money. Feliz assured me that it was a slower than usual night and said it was ok. Feliz like always provided stellar service for us and went above and beyond and for that I still tipped her the extra gratuity and 30% on top of the bill. So when you go to eat at Ume I suggest your request Feliz to be your server. I wish every restaurant I went to had a team of servers like Feliz. read more

Super shady, came here one night and split the bill with a friend who paid cash. For some reason my card was charged almost double of what I authorized, as soon as I realized I called the manager, Anthony, who seemed to be helpful at first but getting ahold of him a second or third time after I didn't get my money was impossible. I even stopped by the restaurant to speak to someone in person and a manager refused to see me. Needless to say I'm unable to get my money back because of course I didn't keep the customer copy of my receipt. But the waitress at the bar made off with an awfully nice tip in my opinion. The Del Sol roll was really good. That was about it. The service was horrible... HORRIBLE. The service was the worse in my 43 years on this planet. We were sitting for 10 minutes, with multiple cooks and waiters walking past us... including what appeared to be a manager. Took my brother and his wife there for lunch on Thursday. Not a lot of people, so why did it take 25 minutes for the entree?? My order was wrong, so she took my plate and my brothers order back to the kitchen instead of leaving him his plate(geesh)! We all noticed that the fried rice had no flavor. I used love this restaurant when it was Mr. Ans and when this first opened the quality of food seemed to stay the same, but every time I go it seems to get a little worse. Nothing extremely bad, but just not as good. My dish wasn't hot. Less flavor and smaller portions. We were seated quickly and our waitress started off great, but because of a big table after we got our food she seemed not to be around for us. We had different people stop by a coupke times. No drink refills either. We had to flag someone down to get boxes and ask for our check. In the end she said sorry which was nice, but said she got busy with the bigger table. Everything was made fresh, the orange chicken's deep-fried crust was still crispy, which is a sure sign the food hasn't been sitting around in a steam tray. We have been to ume three times in the last few months. While the service is always on, the food has been very inconsistent. The first time, the food was delicious. I had the war won ton - broth was flavorful and rich. The sushi was delicious. The last couple times have been sub-par. The sushi was not very good. I ordered the yellowtail and they gave me two pieces of sushi - the fish was cut from the belly and was a deep red color and tasted like blood, plus all of the sinew. I can't believe it was served. The potstickers are OK, but they taste just like the frozen ones from trader Joes. Our third, and now final, visit was last night. My husband had the Hawaii Fried rice - it was served with chunks of pineapple mixed in, which was not mentioned in the menu description. We were both born and raised in Hawaii and NO ONE serves pineapple in the fried rice. Including pineapple in a dish doesn't make it "Hawaiian". I ordered the War Won Ton again, since the first time was awesome. This time it was so disappointing. The broth had very little flavor. I am sorry to say that we will not be returning to Ume anytime soon. read more

My husband and I decided to eat here so we could stay in the casino and keep playing. I wasn't expecting the sushi to be too great and figured it would be expensive. We were surprised when we saw how reasonable the prices were. We sat at the bar so it was fun to watch them make the rolls. We got our rolls super fast and they were amazing. First of all: STOP DEEP FRYING DUMPLINGS AND CALLING THEM POTSTICKERS! What you get are deep fried dumplings, not soft yet crispy-bottomed filled treats. Trader Joe's has better frozen potstickers! This place was such a disappointment. I ordered the Baja Tucson Roll and a house sake. Their sake "machine" was not heating but I was offered the drink at room temperature...not really the same. The roll was okay but the end pieces were about 2 inches long and needed to be trimmed. No sushi chef would allow a roll to go out looking so sloppy. My sister ordered a cup of War Won Ton soup but a giant bowl was delivered to the table. The menu is so confusing, it appeared like you could get just a cup of soup, but we were wrong. The wontons were just mashed balls of dough with a sliver of chicken and the broth was dull. Save your money for the slot machines and find a better Japanese/Chinese restaurant. (BTW, when those food cultures are combined, it's never any good. Stick to one and make some good food!) read more

Terrible terrible customer service from the hostess and the manager on the night of July 23. Went with the girls out for a concert and decided to dine here. Was told the wait was 15 minutes. No problem so we went to the bar. After 30 minutes, and seeing other people seated the same party size as us (3) went up to the hostess and asked when our table would be ready. Again told 5 more minutes. Lost my temper saying I don't understand how our table wasn't ready yet I could see from their "list" that they seated people after us of similar party size. No answer. Sorry, 5 more minutes. Waited 10 more minutes before going back up to the hostess. At this point I was pissed. Ok, what's going on with our table. The manager had been up at the front which prompted me to check at that specific time on our table. Was told, the servers table are full. Literally half the restaurant was empty. When I asked, why other people had been seated while my party had been at the bar waiting, she replied "they kept checking in with me"!!!!! What!! Now, what is the point of a list if I need to "check in with you" for my spot??!! I told both hostesses that we were at the bar!!! All the manager could say was "get them a table now". Now?! Now?! Why not 45 minutes ago while this was building up to this!!?? On a plus note, the waiter, Michael, was nice. The two hostesses are a step below eating glue in the back of the classroom. Problem is, they aren't disabled, just stupid. Not ONCE did we get an apology. I'll never return again. I will warn everyone I see or speak to to stay away from here. There are other restaurants to choose from in CDS. I've eaten here before and had a similar experience. Tried again tonight to give it another shot. Nope. During recent stay at Casino del Sol Resort, we ate at Ume three times and had three very different, very wonderful meals each time. The Japanese selections were the best, including sushi and other dishes. I watched Hamachi being broken down at lunch, so that is what I had at dinner - wonderful flavor, gently handled. The $20 all you can eat sushi is a great deal for a big appetite. Happy hour drink specials are wonderful - don't miss the spicy edemame! Chinese - Mandarin beef, lo mein, sesame chicken, spicy shrimp stir fry were all wonderful. Ask for Michael - he took care of two with the same care he gave our parry of 18. Great service, great food, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere - winner! read more

Never experienced worse service! We dined here for Valentine's Day and couldn't have regretted it more. We were sat right away because we scheduled a reservation. We quickly noticed that only half of the restaurant was full. Waited ten minutes for someone to even acknowledge we were there. After years of working in the service industry I know that 1-2 minutes MAX is acceptable for greeting your table. Then took another ten minutes to get our drinks(cocktail and draft beer) without the two waters we had asked for as well. Then when I asked to speak to a manager it was clear he was not qualified for the job. When I complained about waiting 20 minutes to receive a beverage he said, " well it's Valentine's Day and we are busy." I'm sorry but your staffing issues aren't my problem. Food was OKAY nothing to call home about. PY steakhouse is in the casino as well and a MUCH better option. I will never ever done here again and suggest that you chose somewhere else to go! Treated I treated my family to a mother's day lunch here today at noon...I suffer from deep rooted social anxiety and it took me a consider amount of courage to muster up the nerve to dine publicly.. yet I wanted to treat my mother...brother and my wife today...the hostess sat us at a densely populated section with two large parties in immediate proximity...I asked to be relocated to a different area of the restaurant and was denied...I asked again for this accommodation to be provided and was yet again declined...we enjoyed our meal but the hostess' reluctance to move us to a more comfortable area of the restaurant made a discernable negative impression on our entire experience today...we ate...paid and left and will not be returning to this restaurant ever again...nor can be recommended this location due to the overall impression we experienced today...I'm already a marginalized member of society and today this feeling was amplified due to a simple gesture that was refused... read more

Ume had delicious food. My husband and I have only tried the Chinese dishes so far. We wish they would open another location closer to our home. The Crab Puffs and Pad Thai are both excellent.
