I will update my review on this specific Ume Tea. We have been here many times and utilize their little drive thru. They have limited drink options compared to bigger brick and mortar Ume Tea stores. However, their drinks seem more "quality" compared to their larger counterparts. I always get their Creme Brulee Thai tea from this store. The two workers make it well; especially the male worker. He used to be at the San Ramon store; but, he transferred to this store. The choices are that you either drive thru or order at the window. Now if they'd just include more drink options and a couple of food options; I'd be happy! read more

I was excited to try this because I haven't seen any drive thru boba spots here. Being a mom with a toddler who randomly takes naps after park visits, it's nice to grab some boba while they sleep. I got the lychee watermelon green tea since I liked it at the San Ramon location and it wasn't the same. It was less sweet and had less ice so the drink wasn't very enjoyable. I think if I were to go back, I'd add lychee jelly and ask for extra ice in hopes to remedy this. I ordered with a guy and carefully turned the corner to wait for my drink. He forgot to add the boba for my other drink, but when I pointed it out, he added it. The price was cheaper than their competitors which I enjoyed. This drive thru location isn't the best for busy days but it wasn't an issue on a weekday afternoon when I was the only customer. I probably wouldn't drive out of my way to go here but if I was stuck in the car with a sleeping toddler again, I might just stop by. read more

Thought a drive through boba shop was genius until I just tried it and it was a complete failure. You drive up one window on the side of the building and place your order by QR scan or person. Then you drive around to the other side of the building and wait for your order but then you have some dumbass honking at you cuz his order is ready before yours. Why he couldn't back up I don't know so then I have to go move and park my car and wait for my order so this was a complete failure of execution and business planning mixed with stupid drivers. Won't be coming back to this non convenience ever again. Ok now I feel bad and changed it from one star to 3 stars. The drink I got was actually pretty good - Coco Mango This was my first time here and the process was not smooth and probably faults of many parties. This location is very small, since it's their only drive through location in Livermore / Dublin. It was super convenient for me, since I had a baby in the car sleeping, and I didn't want to go out and unload my kid just and disturb his sleep. Going through this drive thru was an interesting experience; at least I got my boba fix and my baby slept through it all. The only downside of this location is that, the had VERY limited drinks. And most of the time, their drinks are sold out especially the Matchas. So be prepared with a VERY small menu and not your typical Ume Tea order. The service was nice and quick, so I'm happy about that! read more

The Livermore place looks cute--it's bright and adorable. I ordered the fruit green tea with watermelon and lychee instead of the milk tea. The cashier was nice and friendly. I'm not sure if it was me or him, but he asked what the difference was between dairy and non-dairy options. He mentioned that they have vanilla powder that they use in the milk teas. To keep it simple, I decided to go with the fruit tea. It was really good, with the perfect sweetness level at 50% and 80% ice. The only issue I encountered was when I tried to sip the remaining fruit at the bottom of my drink; it got stuck in the straw. I ended up tearing off the top cover so I could spoon out the fruit. I thought the concept of a drive thru boba spot was cool, but after visiting I realize there's nothing too extraordinary about it apart from the drive thru part itself lol! I originally came on their grand opening day about an hour before they were set to close but was turned away. I visited midday on a weekday, and fortunately it wasn't busy so we were the only ones in the drive thru. The ordering process was simple; they have physical menus you can take and look at. I was able to share a lychee watermelon drink and it was pretty good! I felt like the lychee bits were a little too large though, at times it was impossible to drink because that + the boba wouldn't fit through the straw. As for the drive thru itself, it's a bit awkward since you just order, wrap around, then just watch as they slowly make your drinks haha. I don't know if the experience was worthwhile for me to come back but it was nice to try! read more

Also, there was only one person taking orders which made the line longer than it should have been. They should have been better prepared for their "grand opening". I've been to several of these boba shop grand openings and the Ume grand opening was severely disappointing. The drinks were $3 but +$1 for the large cup. Nonetheless, I ordered their mango pumelo sago cuz mango is my favorite and it sounded refreshing. I was going to order their bunny surprise drink but seeing the doll would trigger me to how long I had to wait to get my drink in the first place. I finally got my drink at 1:15pm. Ume Tea's first boba drive thru is the most interesting concept I've ever seen. This former coffee drive thru is so convenient and so cute, you can either park your car next to it or drive to the window to order and pick up. My friend and I ordered Bunny Surprise Cups in Passionfruit Green Tea w/ Lychee and Boba and Grape Green Tea w/ Green Jelly, which comes in a SF design cup and a surprise plush keychain to take home. Both green teas were not too sweet, which was good at 50% sweetness. I also got the Cookie Crème Brûlée Boba Oolong Milk Tea (that's a long menu title lol) which has Oreo crumbs, thick crème brûlée custard, and boba, which was a little bit sweet. No one should ever need to wait 50 minutes for their drinks. And on top of that the person making the drinks messed up 2 of 4 of the same mango-coco drinks. Isn't this your job??! The messed up ones tasted like mango slush water, the unappealing kind. Seriously lady, I know you were dealing with a flood an all, but could have told everyone waiting that there will be delays in your order so that we don't have to wait 30+ minutes in the sun, while you single handled hid in the hut making half crappy flavorless drinks. Disappointed with my first visit to Ume Tea. The shop is set up as a drive thru and convenient layout. But I didn't get that the workers were alert and attentive to make it that way. I pulled up to the window and sat there for a few minutes, and nobody came to the window. I thought maybe they were busy since I saw a few cars in the parking lot. So I parked my car and walked over to the kiosk (defeats the purpose of the drive thru). And then a car pulls up and the worker came right away and took their order. I just noted it, but didn't want to make a big deal. The good thing was the drink came out pretty quickly. So we got our drinks handed to us, but they forgot to give us a straw. We sat in our car honked our horn, waved our hands to get the workers attention, and even had to get out the car to knock on the window. Super inconvenient experience coming here. Love, love, love their mochi! My coworker ordered me the red bean mochi milk tea with 30% sugar and it was the perfect afternoon treat! It looks like they have a deal on their website where some drinks are discounted so be sure to check them out and order online. I opted to get a large size and it was about $6. My only complaint is the mochi has a thick consistency and it gets stuck in the straw. It was difficult to enjoy my milk tea along with the mochi at the same time. I sucked up all the mochi before I got to everyone else..bummer! But the mochi was so enjoyable to eat due to the soft and chewy texture! I wished there was more. Milk tea was rich and creamy. They have a good selection of drinks but I believe their top drinks are with the mochi so give it a try! read more

Super excited that UME Tea is back in the Tri-Valley, I was sad when they closed their Dublin location. Its one of my favorite small boba chains in the Bay Area. It's pretty cool that this one potentially can be a drive through, although at the moment as of tonight they have it blocked off and it's walk up only. Hopefully they figure out a way to make it be able to be a drive through! I first went yesterday on my lunch break from work and waited around 30/40 mins but had to head back before I could order. I know they had the deals so I think that's part of why the line was so crazy! I came back tonight after work and got a surprise cup. It was good, I got 50% sweetness on the Cookie Crème Brûlée Tea, next time I do think I'd opt for 75%. They seemed to want you to order from the iPad stand outside so I did that and it was made pretty quick! There is plenty of parking in the lot this is in as well. We are excited to have ume tea back to the tri valley. (Dublin location closed). I got to try the taro mochi milk tea on the grand opening day. Unbeatable $2.99 promotion per drink. $5 for a surprise cup. My girl loves the idea of a surprise plushie hidden in the cup. Drink was perfectly prepared like I had before. The drive thru system was not made for big crowds but it worked out. I will definitely come back for the mochi drink as I couldn't find it anywhere else in the Bay Area. We ordered cookies and cream crème brûlée and brown sugar milk tea boba. Pretty average! The surprise soft toys don't come with every drink. You have to ask for them and they come with a price. Ume Tea is located in the Valley Plaza - they took over Black & White Coffee and Tea, which was a standalone shop with a drive thru. I have been to their other locations throughout the Bay Area, but this is their newest and most unique location so far, as it is a standalone shop with a drive thru. They had done a great job renovating the exterior of the shop, as they painted it their signature pink color and their bunny designs on the walls of the building. At this particular location, I tried their Jasmine Green Milk Tea with boba in their Bunny Surprise Cup that comes with a mysterious, but cute plushie; Mango Pomelo Sago with boba; and Thai Tea w/ Crème Brûlée with boba. As much as I love jasmine milk tea, I never had the one from here, as I had never seen it on their menu at the other locations - I was surprised how creamy and delicious it was, and wanted another one. Also, I got a cute fuzzy bear as my surprise plush. The mango sago was good as well - I only got 70% sweetness for this drink and it was not as sweet as I would liked it to be, as it was slightly tart, so I may opt for 100% sweetness next time. I am glad this drink came in a large, unlike their other locations where I could only order it in a small size. The Thai tea with crème brûlée was actually recommended to me by the owner, and I am so glad he did because it was such a delicious twist to a regular Thai tea. I feel like Thai tea itself is usually already pretty creamy, but the crème brûlée was such a nice addition to the drink because it made it even more creamy and yummy. read more

Super inconsistent service. I've been a few times and I'm just not happy with it. The first few times it was great, greeted quickly and the staff were super nice despite being busy. I have never heard of this shop until it came up on my feed and, I was so happy to see it, just a few days ago before their grand opening!!!! We woke up early, on a Saturday, and drove from Union City to Pleasanton. We got there at 11:30am, half an hour after it opened and the line looks so pretty because you see everyone holding pink bunny balloons. We each got a balloon while we waited in line. We decided to opt out of the drive through as the line of cars were everywhere. This place is just a simple pink box in the middle of the plaza, directly next to Jack in The Box so it's super easy to spot. There were a lot of parking spots. We ordered six surprise drinks which I thought was a very cute concept! It's like getting a blind box only on your boba! The lady was outside, next to the window, entering your order on an iPad. You get a choice of sweetness and the amount of ice. We picked everything in the menu that had no caffeine as we do not like caffeinated drinks which I told the blond lady taking our order. We were #59, #60 and #61. We ordered 2 Mango Pomelo Sago, 1 Mango Mango, 1 Strawberry Milk with Pudding, 1 Taro Milk with Pudding and Brown Sugar Boba Milk. After placing my order, we have to step aside and go to the next corner window to pick up our order by waiting for our number to be called. The wait time is around 5 to 10 minutes which is pretty fast considering how busy they are. My go-to for every new boba place is the Brown Sugar Boba which is what everyone seems to have on their menu and it's one of my favorite drinks. Unfortunately, all of our order came correct except for the Brown Sugar Boba. They gave us some black tea with boba which we didn't like at all because of the caffeine and taste of it. They must've been overwhelmed since it is their grand opening after all. After you place your order, we were each given two coupons for future purchases which you can use at any of their locations. It's a scratch off so the discounts vary on every coupon. We got a few good ones that we want to use at their Milpitas location since I've never been and really want to check it out as well. They ran out of boba and replaced it with crystal boba which was fine. The drinks were all so good! They sure know their boba. They really put a lot of real fruits and toppings in there. I did ask for 70 percent sugar on the drinks but it didn't taste all that sweet to me. My favorite is the Mango Mango and Strawberry Milk with Pudding. My son's favorite is Mango Pomelo Sago and Strawberry Milk with Pudding. My husband's favorite is the Strawberry Milk with Pudding. Before we drank our drink, we definitely opened the bottom first to see which cuties we got! We got some good plushies and only one double. The plushies are great quality with a lot of details on it. I love the design on the surprise cup, with the Golden Gate Bridge but since it's made out of paper, we could not keep it especially when we have to tear it in order to get to the cute plush. When we left, the lines never went down. I'm so glad they had a fabulous grand opening with huge turn out. read more

We came to visit for the promotion on the grand opening. The line for the drive thru was crazy long but that was expected since the parking lot was small and the turn out was large. The employees did a fairly good job for opening day to make all the drinks. However if they had someone going down the line to take orders for the drive thru that may have reduced the back up and chaos cause in the parking lot. I understand that they of course had the walk up line but if the drive thru line was blocking other customers of the surrounding businesses I would have thought they'd try to reduce the line or at least have someone monitoring the drive thru line to direct cars. The drinks were really good but I do know the price is higher on non promotional days. I hope to come back sometime soon so and give them another shot but probably do the walk up line instead of drive thru if the issue is not resolved. read more

I stumbled upon this super cute, pink drive through/walk up boba shop so I decided to try it! I was there the day before grand opening and tried a few drinks. There was staff there setting up for the big grand opening day and they were all super friendly and kind to us and our dogs who walked up to the window with us. They also made recommendations for drinks and honestly they were spot on! I did get all my drinks at 30% sweet which felt plenty sweet to me still - I think the milk and fruit helped so I wasn't just drinking plain tea. The toppings were also solid, I particularly enjoyed the mochi but would get any of these drinks again. I definitely plan on coming back - I love that I can drive through on a rainy or extremely hot day and contact minimal rain or heat haha or walk up on a nicer day and enjoy a bit of fresh air.
