Their signature Mr Sun Green Tea brought me in here. It is green tea mixed with a 0.0 Heineken. Interesting combo that works very well together. I liked it, and I would recommend giving it a try atleast once. I was sad that there was no popcorn chicken available that day, but I'll just have to come back another time. Drinks came out quick, and you can order one of the touch screens.
stopped by here during Pleasanton weekends on Main. We ordered a bunch of drinks and their popcorn chicken. Did not like the popcorn chicken as it was too salty and over cooked, probably due to just 1 person working in the store. The mango colada was super refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed it, wished that there were more passionfruit seeds. My son enjoyed his Mr. Sun Mango with mango boba. I also ordered the grape green tea with grape pulp and green tea jelly and strawberry boba and added basil seeds. The grape green tea was ok but I paid extra for the basil seeds and there was barely any. Will be back for the mango colada. Easy ordering via the kiosk or touchscreen at the front.
Whenever I'm craving fruit-flavored teas, I head to Mr. Sun in downtown Pleasanton. All their boba are made in-house and cooked to a perfect chewiness. I love that their fruit-flavored boba doesn't have an artificial flavor to it and tastes...juicy, if ya know what I mean. They've got daily specials for $5.50 and there is the ability to collect points by ordering on the Snackpass app. You can't alter the sweetness level on some of their drinks though. Other than the daily special, my favorites are the: ~ Mr. Sun mango with mango boba ~ Mr. Sun special with strawberry boba ~ Grape green tea with grape pulp, green tea jelly, and grape boba (0% sugar) The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, and the staff are helpful and super sweet.
Good boba texture means real tapioca flour. Service was professional. Place is clean but I didn't see a bathroom. Many things on the menu, worth future visits. Go support them!

A weekday visit allowed me to take advantage of their weekday specialty drinks & snacks for $5. Having arrived around 6:30pm, they often run out of brown sugar boba, so I had to opt for a strawberry one. Strawberry boba really didn't compliment the Oolong Milk Tea, but the boba was pretty fresh. There could have been a little more sweetness, but it was ok. I also ordered the egg waffles. It smelled so good, but was a little on the almost burnt stage, for the bite sized portions, I'm glad I only paid $5. While it was good to try the egg waffles, I wouldn't order it again.
Tried Mr Sun via DoorDash and it was a hit. They packaged it really nicely. The Mr Sun Mango Boba was so good and refreshing. The popcorn chicken was nice and crispy. There was an option of spicy or non-spicy.. We picked the spicy and the flavor was delicious.
Located in downtown Pleasanton! What's unique about this boba place is that they have handcrafted flavored boba (Mango, blueberry, strawerry, passionfruit, rose, chocolate, and grape). It's healthier and less cal. You can order through self kiosk or with the cashier. The staff was friendly and gave us samples to try! I tried their golden brown sugar boba milk tea and it was great. A little sweeter with the brown sugar and I'd recommend getting 50-75% sweetness. My friend got their Strawberry boba milk tea and that was probably my favorite. They don't do remakes.
This little boba franchise is consistently good. What makes their taro milk tea boba stand out from other shops is that they use real taro instead of just taro flavored powder. The tea and boba is fresh and has good flavor. If the sweetness level could be customizable (a little less sweet), it would be even better. The shop is clean and well maintained, service is friendly and efficient, and there's an option to use their self ordering kiosk.

The combination of the handmade flavored boba and the puree in the drink makes these drinks just so heavenly! I can finish the drink in a matter of minutes! Service is always quick and the people are always nice there!
A unique, yet my favorite boba spot in the Bay! I went for a Rainbow Boba Milk Tea, 50% sweetness. I love how the Earl Grey Milk Tea flavor is strong, and pairs well with the mango and strawberry boba. The mango boba is my favorite, and the texture is good - they make their boba in house! Service was fast, and the store was nice. I'll def be back! 10/10

Got two drinks the first time I came here! The Mr sun mango with mango boba is my favorite! The mango boba tastes like fresh chewy boba! I thought it was mango popping boba when i first ordered it but it has the same texture as regular boba, but mango flavored. I loved it so much. My second drink is the strawberry version. Mr sun special with strawberry boba. Equally as good! Fantastic if you love strawberry! Im definitely coming back for the same drinks! They recommend mixing your drink before trying it! read more

Still sitting at a 3 star. Drinks are still good (with an occasional miss depending on staff working), but Popcorn Chicken is subpar. Portion size is extremely small as compared to another nearby boba drink place, and it is prepared with a heavy hand of salt and pepper where a good water rinse is necessary to swallow it down. Additionally, the chicken pieces were overly fried. I attributed it to the one team member trying to multitask serving multiple customers at once to handle the orders at the early lunch hour when we came on our most recent visit. We will continue to come only for our favorite drinks. read more

This boba shop is right on Main Street in Pleasanton. I'm not sure if they have a dedicated parking behind the store or not. But finding parking can be challenging during busy times. The store is small. There is a bench by the window and 2 sets of tall tables to sit on. So it's more of a take out store for sure. Now to the drinks (no food on the menu) Golden brown sugar boba milk tea 50 sugar 50 ice - 3/5 the verdict is it's ok. Nothing too special Peach jasmine green tea 25 sugar 50 ice - 5/5 this was a big hit to my kid. Really enjoyed the drink. Perfect sweetness and fruity taste Three brothers milk tea with boba, pudding and grass jelly 25 sugar 50 ice - 4.5/5 The best part of this is the boba. It's perfectly chewy and yet not so chewy that it feels like they're sticking to my teeth. The grass jelly was standard and the pudding was underwhelming to me. The milk tea itself was standard. Not amazing but enjoyable. I'd go back to this place again if we're ever in the area. But I probably wouldn't make a special trip for it. Although they probably do have the best boba pearls around. read more

This place is so unique! I had never been to a place that offers this many variety of flavored boba. I can't believe I only just found out about Mr. Sun. This is located in downtown Pleasanton, which is such a cute spot to just walk around and hang out. The inside is on the smaller side, but there are some tables and chairs. There's an ordering kiosk to the right of the store after you enter. I ordered the Uji Matcha Tea Latte w/ strawberry boba at 0% sugar. I never do 0% sugar, but I'm try to reduce my sugar intake and I thought the strawberry boba would provide some sweetness. Indeed, it did. If I had the drink alone, I would get at least 25% sugar. With the boba, it wasn't too bad. The strawberry boba was really good. I got try my friend's mango boba, and that was also very good. I will definitely come back to try their other flavored boba. The boba itself had the perfect texture. It was soft but not too overly soft, and it was chewy. read more

Mr. Sun opened recently in a vacated space. Just a few tables inside for seating. None outside. Decor mostly Mr. Sun related signage/lighting. Easy to order on kiosk or by staff at counter. Offerings: Mr. Sun specials, handcrafted boba, chewy chewy, milk foam, milk tea, tea latte, smoothies, fresh tea, fresh milk... Drink: 3 Brothers Milk Tea w/boba, pudding & grass jelly (6) 50%sugar, 50% ice -boba chewy, tasted freshly made. contains brown sugar? Listed as ingredient. None tasted. -50% ice still too much, tea & sugar tasted faint at end. -white cup not transparent. Couldn't see contains. 4.5 stars will try a variant next or another kind drink. *didn't taste what this drink is about..toppings yes.. The boba here?? SO GOOD! Mr. Sun is new to Downtown Pleasanton, and is right by Ramen 101. I've been to their location in Mountain View a long time ago, but I didn't remember how good their drinks were until my first visit here. The space is small yet well decorated, there's a couple of barstools for seating and a bench over by the window. I'd say it's most ideal for a grab and go. There's one self service kiosk you can order from, ooor you can go directly to the cashier! The employees were super friendly the entire time we were there. I got the Mr Sun Special with strawberry boba and it was one of the absolute BEEEST drinks I've had in a while! The strawberry syrup at the bottom tasted super refreshing and the drink itself was icey and sort of resembled a frosty. For the boba, I was expecting popping boba for whatever reason (even though popping boba in a drink isn't all too common), but to my surprise it was literal boba... that tasted like strawberries. It was super addicting and absolutely blew my mind lol. I couldn't stop drinking it! We got the mango version too and it was equally as impressive. Pro tip: they have student discounts every Tuesday, if you're a student bring your ID card to get 10% off! If you spend more than $10, they also have a fun game you can play for a chance to win a promo for your next visit. This is definitely a creative way to get customers to return, and we'll surely be back! read more

Excited that there is a boba spot in downtown Pleasanton! The perfect treat to enjoy while walking around. We put our order in via Snackpass so it was ready by the time we got there. We decided to go with Mr Sun Special (Strawberry slushie with Strawberry boba). It was DELICIOUS!! Very refreshing and packed a huge Strawberry punch! The space in itself has a few tables for seating and a cute nook to people watch with boba pillows. Overall, we will be back! Update: We came back the very next day and tried Mr Sun Mango. Also did not disappoint! We have found our go to local boba spot and excited to try new flavors! (Especially the chocolate boba) read more
Did you know that Mr Sun Tea does catering? Well now you do! I was very impressed with how their catering process was from the time I initially inquired all the way up to the day of pickup. I requested for the milk tea and passionfruit tea flavors (50% sweetness) and for toppings, I ordered the brown sugar boba, coconut jelly, and crystal ball (agar no flavor but chewy). On the day of the pickup, Eileen provided me a wagon with all of the boba and supplies (cups, lids, straws, signage, ice in a cooler). She was even more generous and gave me and my friend a summer drink special they were having - mango and passionfruit. Thank you for making my baby shower a hit with my friends. They all loved the boba bar and thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the boba drinks! read more

This boba place is new to downtown Pleasanton, but their boba is some of the best that I've had. They make their boba fresh in store, so it's not perfectly spherical like at other places that use pre-made boba. I ordered the Mr. Sun Mango with mango boba. It was a creamy slush drink with mango purée at the bottom, and came with mango-flavored boba at no extra cost. One thing I'd like to mention is that the sweetness option is based on additional sugar added, unlike at other boba shops. Because of that, the recommended sugar level for most drinks is around 25% instead of 100%. This isn't mentioned if you order at the kiosk, but if you order with the cashiers then they'll explain it to you. The inside is very cozy with lots of seating. They also have boba plushies inside for photo opportunities, which I thought was really cute. Overall, I loved the boba here and I hope they bring it to SoCal soon! read more

Ooo boba has arrived in downtown Pleasanton!!! On Main Street no less. It's right across from Lokanta Grill and around the corner from Meadowlark. Today was the first day of their soft opening running until 6/22 before their grand opening 6/23-6/25! Mango Boba Milk Tea ($6): Remember when boba was $3.25 lol? Anyway. I don't think there were real mango bits in it, so just the flavoring. The pearls were the right squishy and 50% sugar was actually 50% sugar, so no complaints here. Tea Olive Oolong Tea Latte ($5.75): The Tea Olive is Osmanthus! I actually quite liked this, I would get it again...at 50% sugar :) I can taste the tea flavors. My friend ordered the Cheese Milk Foam with Oolong Tea and said the cheese tasted funny/interesting :P The woman taking my order was super nice and took the time to patiently answer questions despite the endless line. My order came out to $9.80, and she still told me to play the pin machine ($10 minimum spend). Scored a free jelly topping for next visit. I will definitely come back whenever I'm strolling around downtown! read more
