Egg rolls. Chicken wings, fried rice and beef rolls.
Ginna S.

I'm always looking for a good pho place so decided to check this place out. The beef pho was okay- the broth was dark and sweet but the meat tender. My friend who ordered the chicken pho said her broth was too dark as well. The fried rice and the egg rolls were good. For the almost 20 dollars a dish, a hefty price tag, I was hoping the food would be better. On the positive side, the servers were prompt and friendly. The space inside is clean and seating was easy.

Sapporo draft

This new restaurant popped up in my Yelp notifications so I decided to try it. I am so glad I did. Pleasant surprise that they have draft beer on their menu . Started off with a glass of Sapporo draft beer. I decided to order the pho dac biet. Huge serving of yummy delight. Broth tasted clean and freshly made. Paired perfectly with the cold draft beer. I came at about 11:30, so beat the lunch rush. Dining room was clean and bright with Vietnamese music softly in the background. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The owner, shared with me that everything is made fresh. Handicapped parking right in front and definitely ADA complaint with easy opening front door and restroom door.

Garlic Noodles with Thai BBQ Chicken

Got the Small Umami House Salad, Golden Lotus Cha Gio and Garlic Noodles with Thai BBQ Chicken. Everything was delicious. The greens were fresh. The salad dressing was sweet with a little acidity. The fried spring rolls were hot and crispy. Good garlic flavor on the noodles. I like that the dish included sautéed onions and peppers. Went well with the noodles. Good amount of chicken with great taste. Service was helpful, prompt and super friendly. No issues with parking.

Combo Platter

Heo Quay Combo Platter! This platter is meant to be shared and it was really good! It is very unique and I have not seen a dish like this in a Vietnamese restaurant. The roasted pork was juicy and flavorful. The grilled shrimp was cooked perfectly. The tofu was double fried and which gave it a good crust. The combo includes veggies and rice noodles. The dipping sauce seemed to a house blend of fish sauce and a sweet chili sauce. The service was attentive and courteous. Well staffed. Owner and Chef Nicol checked in with us. The interior is modern and clean. Tables of 2 and 4 and couple larger tables. Open kitchen makes the environment lively and clean.

Amazing Vietnamese fusion restaurant! Umaimi offers a wonderful twist on traditional Vietnamese flavors with creative, delicious dishes. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is inviting, and the service is friendly and attentive. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish! Highly recommend Umaimi and can't wait to come back!

Mini banh xeo platter & pho ga tron (fried chicken with broth less vermicelli)

Took myself on a solo lunch date & wanted to choose a new place. Happened to find this new local gem while driving. Ordered 3 items (coconut coffee, Vietnamese crepe app & fried chicken dry noodles); everything was delicious! Service was polite & attentive without being hovering. They are still in their soft opening stage so please be patient as they get their set-up just right. Will definitely be back with the family to try more of their menu

Great food and service I will definitely be back. My favorite dish was the garlic wings and pork platter .

Spent $20 on this meal and received barely two bites of rice noodles and a handful of greens. Paying $20 for what is essentially a snack-sized portion of noodles is ridiculous. Extremely disppointing quailty-to price ratio. Wound not recommend and never going back.

At 6pm on a Sunday evening, we were lucky to grab a spot in front. We sat at the bar which is just inside the entrance. The main room has various tables and chairs in the center, and Victorian style chairs and couches along the front and side walls. There's a small stage area in the back where they host a lot of events. There's also some outdoor patio seating and an event room upstairs. There were good mellow vibes on a non-event night, and there was good music playing. They also have some Halloween décor up. I started out with the Ooogie Boogie (Proper Twelve Apple Irish Whiskey, Manzanilla sherry, Mela apple liqueur, Luxardo del Santo, green apple juice, simple syrup, $15). This was absolutely delicious and not sweet at all. It has a few layers of crisp, slightly tart, apple flavor. You would never guess this is an Irish whiskey cocktail. She started out with the Deadly Nightshade (butterfly peaflower-infused Centanario Plata tequila, Tott's Champaigne, Crème de Violette, Van Gough Blueberry & Acai vodka, Salers gentian amaro, butterfly peaflower syrup, lime super-juice, $15). This drink is pretty large, is well balanced, and has some complexity. She loved it. We shared Jack, The Pumpkin King (400 Conejos mezcal, triplum, chipotle-pumpkin syrup, lime super-juice, $15). This was a solid mezcal margarita with a light pumpkin flavor and a hint of heat. The rim is a mix of cinnamon, turbinado sugar, and salt which was tasty. Bartender Zoe was awesome! She was so friendly, and we enjoyed discussing cocktails and various other topics with her. All three drinks were great, and a bargain at only $15. We will definitely return soon to try out some of their regular menu cocktails.

I am only now coming to share an official review on Yelp due to how this establishment treated me…read moreon TikTok. Folks should be aware this place is capable of treating you with disrespect in person, then when you mention the poor treatment in a TikTok comment, they'll respond without taking accountability and dismissing your experience. They will then ultimately block you - presumably because too many people liked your comment. You guys, that's embarrassing. You need to do better. My comment was completely respectful and an honest concern for how I was treated the one time I ventured in with a friend. Deleting feedback you don't like, customer concerns, and then further blocking those people (I hadn't written anything else. I only noticed because I clicked on the notification that someone liked my comment and saw I was now blocked) makes you look shady and guilty. I'm not a bot, and I explained a very real, possibly discriminatory experience at your bar. If anyone reading would like to know the experience: It was October 21, 2024. A Monday. I should've written this review then but I didn't have anything nice to say, and didn't want to trash this place when it seemed they were struggling due to what the bartender said. I was going through a really tough time, having just canceled my wedding about a month earlier. It was my first outing after a month+ of deep depression. My friend came to rescue me and take me out. I had been meaning to try this place since moving to Long Beach. It was fairly early in the evening, probably around 8pm or so and it was pretty slow. There was music and two couples dancing. We grabbed a table and I went to the bar to get us drinks. As I stood at the bar, some guys had come up alongside me to wait as well. The bartender looked over me and promptly took their orders. I barely had any emotion left in me at the time so I didn't care, and just waited to be next. However, I waited. And waited. And waited. The bartender seemed to be intentionally ignoring me (now the only person standing at the bar). I watched him busy himself with other drinks for the tables, for the guys, and continue to ignore me. Time ticked by and I started to wonder if I was doing something wrong. My friend kept looking over at me from the table like what is taking so long? Minutes and minutes passed as I stood there awkwardly, being blatantly ignored. After a long stretch of time, the bartender quickly said something in my direction like, "If you want to order you're going to have to go to the other end of the bar." I said, "Oh ok thank you." And walked to the other end of the bar. From this point, I was ignored and talked about (full male bar staff) without being looked at. They rudely discussed in front of me how I was standing there, and how each one of them wasn't going to take my order. It had been over a half hour at this point, and I was the only one who had been standing at the bar. It was a slow Monday night. Because I was a broken hearted loser at the time, I started to tear up. Why was I being treated like this? Am I not someone they want in their bar? Is this place not queer or woman friendly?? Why is every other person getting served, while I am blatantly dismissed? After almost 40 minutes, the bartender on that end told me he wasn't going to take my order, and I'd have to go back to the other side again. I quietly walked back over to the other side, feeling so embarrassed and just wanting to leave. It was ridiculously clear I wasn't welcome here, though I had no idea why. I remained standing there for maybe another 10 minutes. The original guy finally relented and begrudgingly took my drink order. He was standoffish at first, until he realized I wasn't upset about any of it. He started to apologize, saying he was brand new, and told me some of the staffing issues they had had that night. He seemed stressed. He recognized he had served the guys before me, and I had been ignored for way too long. He apologized again, and poured us an extra shot in our drinks to make up for the poor treatment. The drinks honestly were terrible lol, but I can only complain about so much. Plus he gave us double the alcohol, so I guess I was grateful. We left immediately after and went somewhere else. I haven't been back since. I wish I could share screenshots of my TikTok comment with the owner's dismissive reply, so you could see for yourselves whether you think that deserved being blocked. She even liked one of my reels from my page? Very odd. People are going to share the truth about their experiences at your establishment, and for you to deny that and block them is wild. You could've responded in a very different way, but you chose to be defensive and shady. That's on you.

I come to Del Amo pretty often, whether it's to go to the bookstore, shop at some of my favorite…read morestores, or just eat at one of the restaurants around the mall. I had seen the Bazille sign above the Nordstrom entrance so many times, but for the longest time I had no idea how to actually get there. For some reason, I also assumed from the name "Bazille" that it was probably some kind of salad or healthy/vegan place , so I never really bothered to figure it out. Well, I finally did about two weeks ago, and OMG -- what a pleasant surprise. You actually enter through Nordstrom and take the stairs or elevator up to the second floor. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and intimate without feeling overly fancy. But the FOOD! Absolutely delicious. Everything we had was so good. And another pleasant surprise was the price. I eat out all the time and have tried a lot of restaurants around LA, so I have a pretty good idea of what places in this category usually charge. For the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, Bazille is surprisingly affordable. It's not "cheap" food by any means -- it just feels like a really good value compared to similar restaurants. The service was just as impressive. Every single person we interacted with was professional, friendly and welcoming, from the hosts to our server. And clearly the kitchen knows what they're doing because everything that came out was amazing. I can't believe I've walked past this place so many times without trying it. Now that Bazille is officially on my radar, the other restaurants I usually visit when I come to Del Amo definitely have some competition. I'll absolutely be back!

A restaurant in a department store? Yup…read more Executive summary: upscale department store has an upscale restaurant. The prices, however, are not out of line and the food quite ok. A: Food. I got the French dip sandwich and the French onion soup (see the theme). The sandwich was very good. The au jus was flavored with something a bit spicy, I get it's Cali but i prefer traditional au jus. The French onion soup is in a generous sized bowl (I split it with my wife). Don't get me wrong, it's good but it's not great. There was something missing that I couldn't out my finger on. Overall tho, it felt like quality food at reasonable prices. B: service: as you'd expect from nordstroms, service was exceptional. Friendly, attentive but not over attentive. I drink a lot of ice tea and my glass was never less than a 1/4 tank. C: ambiance. Ok, full confession, my wife brought me to the mall and nordstroms. For me, It's a bit weird to eat in the ladies active wear section but, looking at the demographics, I TOTALLY see why it's in that section. Picture lots of older ladies (predominantly 50+ white and Korean ladies) meeting up for a glass of Chardonnay and sharing ....HUGE PLATES OF FRENCH FRIES. I didn't know that's a thing. I find it fascinating. If you're in the mall, give it a go. It's quite the experience and position yourself to people watch.
