My husband and I came here for dinner around 6:30 pm on a Friday night. Street parking was easy to find nearby. We came without a reservation as they don't take reservations for parties less than four people. The restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived and we were seated immediately. The nice thing about this restaurant is that each person has their own hotpot, and each hotpot is also split, so you get to try two sauces. There are different set menus you can choose from, or you can also order meats a la carte, though I do think the sets are better value. We ordered the takoyaki to share between us. I liked these but my husband, who doesn't like takoyaki that much, thought they were just fine. The meats and veggies that we got here were just fine. There was nothing bad about them, but I thought they were pretty mediocre--I honestly thought I could have made a better hotpot shopping at the grocery and making my own at home. Service was friendly and efficient. Based on this experience, I don't think I'll return.

Came here for the first time and was so impressed with how many options there were with customization. The broths were so flavorful and all the ingredients were fresh. The fried quid legs were good! I can't wait to come back and try their other broths.

Only the 2nd time I've done shabu shabu and I'm so impressed! I've driven by this place a million times and finally pulled the trigger and gave it a try. We got: * Takoyaki - yum! * Calamari- Yum! * Spicy Tonkotsu & Kimchi broths - both incredibly flavorful, would get both again * Ribeye Choice, Pork, Beef tongue -Tender and enhanced the flavor of the broth * Chu-Hi Peach & Apple drinks - SO refreshing! Would come back for a couple of those after the beach this summer. MUST HAVES!! We took all the staff recommendations and are happy with all their suggestions thank you!

Great Shabu shabu place. My husband brought me here on a date after having a friend rave about it from work. We had never been and honestly probably had no idea what we were doing at first but it was fun and we did get the hang of it. I think I even burnt some crab and the server had to put my temp down for the pot lol. Was a bit embarrassed lol luckily we sat next to a couple who were friendly and exchanged a few words and some tips on how to order next time. This was a while ago, but since then we have been to a few more shabu places and enjoy this as a treat once in a while. Yes it is pricey but the quality of food is great and you can customize it. The service is quick and attentive, the place is small and clean and the food is fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area! Great date night idea!

Tried Ishabu Shabu in Redondo Beach and was hoping to satisfy my craving for Japanese hot pot. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. The tonkotsu broth and sukiyaki were very bland; the sukiyaki barely had any taste and didn't seem authentic. Both the goma sauce and ponzu sauce lacked flavor and authenticity as well. The meat was tasty, but for $39, the portion felt small and limited. The fried oysters were overcooked and slightly burnt, making $11.99 for 4 pieces feel overpriced and not worth it. The staff seemed rushed, and the place felt understaffed. Overall, I'd rate it 3 out of 5 stars. I don't think I'll be returning. I was really hoping that this place would be good since there are limited options for Japanese hot pot in the West LA area.

Absolutely the best Shabushabu experience. The servers were amazing especially John. The quality of the meat is just the best all the way. They cut it in front of you. I really love the ambiance here and all the experiences. I will definitely come back here again with my family!

This tiny little joint has been open some time and I just discovered it. Service was really great and the ambiance was neighborhood feeling kind of a joint. Food was pretty good and felt it was a bit over priced. Me and my kid shared and after ordering a combo meat plate (comes with veggies). You can alway order more, we everything is à la la la cart. Their "kimchi" soup broth was tasty, especially after adding all the meats and veggies. After all said and done, sharing 1 Shabu pot and 1sparkly water, $82....

Clean, fresh, delicious hotpot place nearby the beach. Servers are friendly providing great service. Good for family dinner and date night!

Exec summary : I was pleasantly surprised how nice this place was 1- parking Free lot behind the restaurant or plenty of street parking 2- food They have you crush fresh sesame to side in the dip. I've never even seen that in Japan. Pretty neat feature Plenty of choices of types of meat. Do not bother getting the large serving of meat. The difference in amount is t worth the price up Don't forget to save the noodles for last. In Japan, the being you a bowl with a small amount of fish sauce in it which you supplement with the broth from the shabu bowl. Here you just get noodles and the bowl 3- ambiance Interesting layout. The hot pots are over electric conduction heaters. The only problem is that it's a pretty long reach. The pots themselves are like nothing I've seen before. I thought they were steamers. Strange conical protrusion Overall Bit of a strange location and layout. Not a lot of space for folks waiting for their seats. But some of the best shabu in the South Bay and my new "go to"

Closer to four and a half stars! I'm a fan of this restaurant, great vibes overall and a very nice interior. Even their plates and bowls looked more aesthetically pleasing than other restaurants I've been to. Our staff was nice and friendly to us. Cook at your own pace! Love this concept at hot pot restaurants. The presentation a this restaurant is A+ compared to other hot pot restaurants. I really enjoy the fact that they give you tongs, and a big spoon for you to place your meat in the broth and also grab broth whenever you want. So many other hot pot restaurants lack this. Quality was decent. And they gave a lot of veggies too which is always great! One main concern was they never came to refill our broths. Regardless that wasn't a big deal to us. If you're in the area, I'd recommend this place!

We were seated immediately with no wait during dinner time, and there's a large free parking lot, so getting in and out was hassle-free. The skewers were good overall, but one thing to note is that they don't have that smoky, charcoal-grilled flavor. If you're expecting a traditional yakitori experience, just keep that in mind. What we ordered: - Momo Kizokuyaki - 7/10 A classic choice. The chicken was juicy and cooked well, but it leaned a little under-seasoned, so it didn't leave much of a lasting impression. - Teba - 6/10 Chicken was kinda dry but seasoning was good. - Harami Beef - 7/10 The beef was tender and cooked nicely, but it also lacked a bit of seasoning. Good texture, just missing that extra punch of flavor that would've made it memorable. - Karaage - 8/10 My favorite dish of the meal. The portion size was just right, and the chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and well-seasoned throughout. - Soboro Don - 8/10 This reminded me of an elevated Yoshinoya beef bowl--in the best way. It had richer flavors, better-quality ingredients, and the fresh ginger added a bright, flavorful contrast that tied everything together. Beyond the food, the service really stood out. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, respectful, and attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant was also spotless, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I'd definitely come back. While a couple of the skewers could use a little more seasoning and that signature smoky flavor, the friendly service, clean atmosphere, easy parking, and solid food make this a spot that's worth checking out.

We arrived right at opening (5:15 PM) without a reservation. We were told we could sit if we left before 6:30 PM because of a later booking. Since we were just having a quick dinner (4 adults and 1 child), we agreed. However, the terrible hospitality started immediately when she forced our group of 5 into a tight 4-person booth, making us extremely uncomfortable. Throughout the meal, IYA made us feel incredibly unwelcome, constantly rushing us and giving us dirty looks. Even though we were well aware of the time, she aggressively pushed the dessert menu and called for "last call" at 6:00 PM just to kick us out faster. When we politely asked for extra broth, she snapped that there would be an extra charge with a terrible attitude, then literally slammed the dish down on our table. The absolute worst part was her handling of my Service Dog. As someone who legally requires a service animal, I had my dog right next to me. Without even asking if it was a registered service animal, IYA rudely and aggressively demanded that I put the dog on the floor. Her complete lack of education, empathy, and legal understanding regarding service animals is deeply concerning and discriminatory. The grilled yellowtail suffered from the same problem: dry, overcooked and lacking the care you would expect from a restaurant presenting a seasonal multi course menu at this price point. The larger issue was organization. Dishes constantly arrived with servers asking, "Who ordered this?" or "Who has the udon?" The dining room felt strangely disconnected from the kitchen. Food runners seemed unsure where dishes belonged, which created confusion throughout the meal. Then things really went sideways. Trying to be respectful, I asked that my parents be served first. Everyone eventually received their meals and continued eating. The problem was that my Ise Course never arrived in sequence. My family finished their meals. My children finished. My parents finished. My sister finished. And on my birthday, I sat there alone waiting for several missing courses while everyone else watched. A seasonal set menu is supposed to feel paced and intentional. Instead, it felt forgotten. Arthur again stepped in and spoke with management. The restaurant offered complimentary desserts, which was appreciated, although somewhat awkward because my meal was still arriving while everyone else was already moving on to dessert. What happened next genuinely surprised me. When the bill arrived, management returned and asked whether we would be willing to authorize an additional charge so gratuity could be increased from 18% to 20% because of the size of the party. After the heat, the delays, the confusion, the overcooked centerpiece dishes, the missed pacing and spending a birthday meal eating alone after everyone else had finished, it felt like the wrong conversation to be having. I don't enjoy writing reviews like this because there is clearly talent in the building and Arthur deserves recognition for how hard he worked. But hospitality is ultimately about making people feel cared for. On this visit, despite a beautiful room and some good food, that never happened.
