Let's start off by saying, there was no one at the front to serve or seat anyone each time someone was waiting at the door. The workers talk way too much and aren't paying attention to the customers. The decor was just ok, but the music was good. The drink called soft serve margaritas was nasty and too sweet. It should be sold as a soft serve froyo. There was not a hint of liquor in it, and they have the nerve to brag about it. That's a laugh! The wings I ordered were tough to chew and flavorless and over priced. The menu said $7.99 and I was charged $12.00. You guys watch out. The Asada salad bowl was not good. The meat was undercooked and gave my friend a really bad stomach ache. This place is not worth the hype they get. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Kalaveras is not the spot to go...trust me.

My go to!! Their lunch specials & daily specials are to die for. My favorite is the chicken taquitos but this trip we started with the margarita sampler (big smile) and had two lunch specials (drool). My husband rated the combination plate with 1 cheese enchilada and 1relleno a 10 out of 10. I had a combination plate with two crispy shell tacos, and I would rate it an 9/10. I had a couple bites that were a little fattier than I would like but that is a personal choice I think. It was so much delicious food. We will definitely be back. Our favorite (not pictured) is the cheese dip on their appetizer menu. (We tried this last time from the happy hour menu)

came by to celebrate my friend graduating and they did not disappoint. as it was our first time, we weren't really sure what to expect but they definitely exceeded. the drinks were amazing, stronger than any other place i've been to so the price was definitely worth it. we got so many different kinds but my favorite was definitely the mai tai. you might wanna grab a couple of mexican candy shots! as far as food, i ordered the culichi roll, it's obviously not traditional sushi but it was still flavorful and great. our server was the best, if only i could remember his name. he made sure every table he was serving was hyped the entire time. other staff members we interacted with were also amazing and kind people. definitely would be coming back!

5 stars for great service! Came in on a Thursday night and we were seated immediately. Food came with complementary chips and salsa, and the price was certainly up to par with the quality! The restaurant was very clean and well lit, nice decorations. Will come again soon :)

The place is super lively and for birthdays they have bright neon signs, birthday shoutouts, and sing. Definitely a great spot if you're looking for energy and fun. Heads up though: it gets loud. If you're coming with a group bigger than 2, it can be kinda hard to hear each other without yelling across the table. I got the margarita flight. The cucumber one was hands down my favorite! Refreshing and not too sweet. The others were a bit too sugary for my taste, but still fun to try.

I loved this place--until I didn't. It was Cinco de Mayo, so we knew it would be busy and we were totally fine with waiting. When we arrived, the host told us it'd be a 45-minute to 1-hour wait unless we had a reservation. Fair enough... except there were plenty of open tables, and a bunch of people were either waiting around or straight up leaving because of the wait. So I got smart--hopped on Yelp and guess what? They were taking reservations! I booked one for 10 minutes later and suddenly... boom, we had a table. When I went back to the counter and said we had a reservation, the staff laughed and whispered to each other, "She didn't have a reservation." But they had no choice--they seated us. Now here's the real kicker: after we were finally seated, it took 15-20 minutes just to get our drink and food order taken. Our server only came to our table twice the whole time we were there. We even saw a group of 7 people experiencing the same issue--long wait, ignored service. Turns out it was one of the girl's birthdays. Her boyfriend looked stressed trying to figure out what to do, so I helped him make a Yelp reservation too--and they got seated just like we did. At least her birthday was saved. Honestly, I'm still confused. Why would a business choose to let tables sit empty while customers walk out the door? It's like they're actively turning away money. Kalaveras is usually a favorite of mine. I've never had issues at other locations--but this Redondo Beach spot? Never again. Hard pass

This place on Cinco de Mayo is a vibe!! However, no Happy Hour for this specific day wasn't. But still a great place for the energy, drinks, and good Mexican food. It's very loud, so be prepared to shout or not talk, they have tv screens to watch sports. We did get asked to leave after about 1.5 hours, probably since it was a busier night and we were basically done with our meal but felt somewhat rushed out especially after waiting to be seated with a reservation. Parking is metered or you can find free street parking on the "aves" and walk over. The interior decor is so fun and aesthetically pleasing. Great spot for a date night or larger groups. They do have specials throughout the week. I must be weak or their margarita slushes are really strong, so lightweights beware! The food was fresh and came out quickly! The asada bowl was basic, but enchiladas were delicious. Lucero was a very friendly waitress who checked in on us throughout the meal. Would for sure come back but choose to sit outside next time!

Excellent Mexican food, extraordinary salad bar, relaxing and festive indoor seating, sunny and breezy outdoor seating. We love their Taco Tuesday! $1.49 each all day! (All types except seafood). It's smaller than their usual size but, 3 of them with lots of salad toppings would make a very nice and healthy lunch. The salsa bar is more like a salad bar, I'm not kidding! My wife had 3 Asadas, I had Asada, Pollo, and Barbacoa, I think Barbados was the most flavorful. Service is always fairly responsive and prompt.

my friend and i usually have our monthly catch up kalaveras was our choice this month! rez were super easy to make, via yelp ofc i always hear good things about kalaveras, i hear they have an amazing sunday brunch buffet we initially were not here for the brunch buffet but ended up doing it bc the food looked delish! it is $40/pp, which is a great deal, i believe bottomless mimosa is included.. it was pretty empty around 1145am. there was a good variety of food to choose from, they have an omelette and chilaquiles station, the ceviche was tasty as well. their horchata was refreshing! def will bring my mom here, she would totally enjoy this. service was really good. everyone was super nice and accommodating. they have a pet friendly patio as well. totally cool place to hang out . love all the decor. def will be back to try out their taco tuesdays parking: metered street or metered lots

They made my birthday so special!

Always the best time ever! Lucero is the best server ever and she takes care of you with every step and makes you feel special. I came for my birthday and she is always attentive and always helpful with recommendations. I come back because the service is always 10/10! Also the breakfast omelet is my new go to it was so delicious! Thank you Kalaveras Redondo and our wonderful server Lucero!

I truly enjoy coming here because I know the music is good, service is great, but the drinks are better! The service is on point. They're always attentive and get you what you need fast. Everything about this place keeps me coming back. All good vibes.

Kalaveras is a cantina sports bar that serves Mexican food, but unfortunately not quality Mexican food. On my visit my meal resembled the bland taste similar to food served at an American sports bar, such as hamburgers, wings, etc. Everything about my meal lacked flavor and the color of the food was pale also. The guacamole was even a light green. The refried beans were a light brown, the Mezcal Margarita was also light on the Mezcal. If it weren't for the prime location of Kalaveras being just a short walk to the beach, I don't think place could survive.

ANTONIO! My favorite server! Such a sweet man and very attentive and knowledgeable of the food too. His energy just made the whole experience amazing. This is my 4th time here and this was the best the food has ever been and my past times were years ago too so the food overall has reached a level of extreme goodness. I ordered the guac and chips fire! The chicken taquitos fire! And the tacos gorbernador I'm sure I butchered the spelling but OMGGGG!!!!! It's packed with so much cheese and flavor it don't even make no sense how something this good a shrimp dish at that could be so good. I'm coming back again and again and again!

Seating: usually like to decide beforehand if I want to sit on the patio or inside. Most of the time, I prefer the patio, and that's what we ended up with. Service: Staff immediately offered the heater, which I readily agreed to. Two people spoke and helped us out outside of the waitress, meaning they were constantly checking in on us. This checks out similar to the service I received last time I was here. Food: We had nachos. I had mole and the chido way cocktail. My boyfriend had dark Mexican lager and cochinitta pork dish. I was really happy with our The food was excellent, and my cocktail was truly exceptional. It was on par with some of the best fancy cocktail bars I've visited, yet prices were more reasonable, typical of a restaurant. The mezcal was smoky and delicious. I also noticed that most of their cocktails are tequila and mezcal based. You should get a cocktail if it's your first visit. Vibes: It's always loud, especially at its peak on a Saturday evening. I can overhear bits and pieces of conversations from three tables next to me, but somehow it all fits perfectly. Suddenly, a live mariachi band started playing an emotional Ballad. It's always cool when I run into live music when I'm here. I like it here! Wanted to let you know that they seem to have slightly increased the prices vs the menu? We weren't really starving, just wanted to check the vibes, try the food and see how it was. Unfortunately, things just weren't how we were expecting. We love mexican food and we are used to the food trucks that we can find everywhere in LA. I used to have tacos from the taco truck across the street from me when I lived in San Pedro and they were just perfect, simple and on point. I think I had that idea when I ordered the taco, but it wasn't really what I expected. It was bigger and looked beautiful, but the amount of spice was extremely high, which didn't even let me taste the flavor. And on top of it, the salt felt off too. Too much spice, not enough salt. My fiance ordered tamales, and the mole was more on the chocolate side than anything. The flavors just didn't match. Service wise we have nothing to complain about. They were nice and helpful! It's just the food that wasn't good for us.

And this one time I was there alone with another, no other patrons just staff members walking around from time to time. We stole the moment to dance under the Long Beach sky, just the two of us as a famous Christina Perrio song gently wafted in the night breeze. At another separate time, I was at the Los Angeles County Fair with another. We rode the ferris wheel at such a time where our gondola stopped at the top just as the sun set. The moment was nothing but beautiful and life affirming because the sinking of the sun's light was like a real life video of nature happening in front of us, unburdened by static or data stall. We witnessed nature resting, and I feel, that it was a kin to a beauty falling into a gentle sleep. These two instances have a common factor: momentary bliss arrived to bless an experience because the environment supported discovery of unplanned joy. That is what I associate with the Wicked Wolf, and this time the joy arrived eventually because when my Mom and I arrived to their high tea on Mother's Day the experienced seem like it would land nowhere good. Truth be told, my mom and I arrived 15 minutes early and there was no host in the stand and the place was empty except for a foursome. The energy felt lacked luster. One or two minutes after, the bartender informed us that we were early and the host would come soon. We sat in an available sofa for two, a loveseat persay. This gave us an opportunity to admire the decor that transported us to a storybook forest where good fairies reside, not like swamp creatures and trolls with malevolent fangs and dragon green eyes. I especially loved the large roses in the ceiling. To set the stage, the black ceiling had vines hanging from it, and the few roses were pops of crimson red displayed above. These were wonderful accents to the central mural of the joint that invited the viewer within deeper into the fairy forest where a light shone on an unseen meadow. The place had the decorations and general environment to be a lavender fairy's lounge, but, it did not fully work as a team room. For instance, my mom and I were sat in another lover's couch. Initially, I did not want to sit here because we were given circular tray sets. So imagine being told to sit in a couch, and each of us would get a tv tray. So I was left to wonder if we were going to be served tea in Belle's living room or if were going to watch a flick as we ate pollo loco bowl? But then as I settled into the tranquility of the moment, saw more people come and find their seat or couch, and as the serviced picked-up I realized that this was high tea in a place that had taken disjointed beauty and tackied it together for a patched tea experience that worked well. It was like the experienced was blessed and allowed by the same spirit that brought forth Raggedy Ann. For instance, the pictures show these pretty violet petaled tea cups and matching plates. This pairing was dainty and perfect for a tea party happening under pink veils. But then the sugar cubes came in a hedgehog shaped holder which was just as precious as seeing a piglet in a carriage built for one. Then the cream carrier was in the shape of a milk carton. I wondered where the missing child portrait was? The pastry plate was in the shape of a tropical flower like the ones scattered all over Hawaii. It belonged in a beautiful lei. Each of these elements was cute in its own delicate and whimsical way but together they made an eclectic hodgepodge, not a coherent tea set. And in this asymmetry laid the glitter of their error. The host also brought these clip on dainty hats that were perfect touches for make believe tea party. He carried them around in their original packing, including the box they came in. Not exactly the tailor of the queen, offering hats to the villagers as a gift from her to them, but still the effort magnified the moment. The tea food was the worst stumble that Red took as she was being chased by the Wicked Wolf. To begin with the end analysis, the tea offerings in general were standard, and not bites fit for a princess and her wedding court. For instance, the cream cheese and cucumber sandwich was just that---- a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich. I detected no effort to make it more than that. The blueberry scone was solid, nothing to skip through a meadow about. But once you added the jam of the table to the scone it was much easier to enjoy. I also had a madeline that was fluffy in the center but could have been purchased maybe at Costco. I had a Macaron and same thing, delicious but I have had something similar before and I suspected that it did not come from a place afloat with Parisian affairs. The best part of the tiers was this puff like thing that had like a Concha texture and design at the top. It was a sweet filled bite that was fit for a man made of muffin.

I was really excited to visit this bar--I've always been a huge fan of fairy tales and thought the…read moretheme was such a fun concept for a bar. When we got there, I felt that the decorations and drinks felt a bit gimmicky, with random fairy tale-esque elements like a throne and massive red roses. I thought it would have been very cool to see Easter eggs and more intentionality bringing the atmosphere together. Since it was an hour before closing, we didn't plan to stay very long. The two people working at the bar were both unwelcoming and seemed upset that we were there (there were other people at the bar, including people who arrived later in the night than us). We paid for our drinks, which cost over $40 for 2 drinks with tip. My cocktail was $17 and came in a glass barely bigger than a shot glass. We left around the time they were calling for last call. I can understand not wanting stragglers who prevent the bartenders from closing late, but I would have much preferred being turned away at the door rather than paying and tipping for an overall unpleasant experience.
