The place is located within the promenade, which is an outlet with really good restaurants & shops to check out every once and a while. Which I will write a seperate review soon. It felt so retro and modern, which is something I am interested in. So if you are into a place that has a retro vibe next to a skating rink and located in Palos Verdes. I don't know how that worked, and if it was just my frame of mind at the time. The first time we visited, it was late but we had time to wait a little and eat. The vegetables of the bánh mi had a earthy taste and packed of flavor with the meats. The sauces were tangy and perfect combination of spicy and sweet. I am not a professional when it comes to bành mì, but I am not unfamiliar with it either. And the sandwich didn't really seem like the Bành mì I usually order. It felt more like something you would get out of an American sandwich restaurant. As I tried it again, the Bánh mì gave me the same thoughts, only now that I am tasting it for a second time--I personally feel like it isn't something I would eat over and over again. What a great Vietnamese restaurant! I got to try their pho wagyu A5 and it was truly amazing. The broth was so rich and the meat was fatty and thinly sliced but so flavorful. We also got the shaken beef rice plate and it came with a side of broth which was a good combo! They have plenty of seating and this place is located inside the mall but pretty easy to find plus there's a big parking structure attached to this mall. I was greeted by friendly staff who was ready to take my order. The decor inside is quite nice with colorful Asian lanterns and black tables and chairs. Although I should have ordered pho, I wasn't feeling it on this day. I just had a couple items on the appetizer menu. Wagyu sliders: these were pretty good. I tend to like lettuce in my burgers and the sliders didn't have any so I grabbed some leaves from the egg rolls to stuff in it. They were very tasty. Egg rolls: I'm used to having these type of egg rolls made with pork and shrimp so the beef threw me off. Their menu consists of various dishes featuring American, Australian and Japanese A5 Wagyu. From starters like Wagyu Sliders to Main Entrees like Wagyu Beef Stew to Pho with Wagyu Oxtail, this restaurant is all about premium beef and quality ingredients. I started off my meal here with their famous Flaming Wagyu. This is not your ordinary appetizer. The slices of premium American Wagyu is brought to the table raw and the server will then torch the beef tableside on a hot stone. It's a fiery show and one that ends with the most mouthwatering, tender pieces of Wagyu beef. The thin slices of meet simply melt in the mouth and has the perfect smoky flavor. This is definitely a must try here! Aside from the Flaming Wagyu, I also got to try their Pho Sandwich. Think bahn mi reimagined French dip style. This sandwich consists of tender Wagyu brisket with fresh herbs like cilantro inside a crispy baguette. On the side is pho broth dipping sauce. Their Vietnamese pho leans heavily into beef, with options like rich beef broths and even Wagyu pho that really cater to people who want a hearty, meat-forward bowl. We started with a lychee tea and a peach tea. Both were so flavorful and refreshing. We got the wagyu sliders. Tasty and super tender wagyu burgers. Nice way to start. Next was the flaming wagyu plate. They torch the wagyu tableside. It is quite the show. Dip the wagyu in the ponzu sauce they give you. You won't regret it. We got the wagyu fried rice as well. Location is in a busy plaza near an ice rink, so there's plenty going on and it's a great area to walk around after your meal. Parking is plentiful, but it can get busy since the plaza is popular. Expensive, but overall good quality pho. It's located in Rolling Hills estates right by the ice rink. It's a smart location, lots of families come by after ice skating lessons and have dinner there. There's plenty of seating inside. Service is a bit slow or they're just understaffed. We came when it was relatively empty around 5pm, but the one waitress/front desk person told us to wait a few minutes since she was the only person I saw taking orders, serving, and seating. Eventually someone came out and seated us. I think during time we dined there, they only had 2 waiters taking orders and serving for the entire place and one person packing up all of their to-go orders. Took a while also to take our orders, I saw the same waitress seat and take orders from another table before we finally got our server to acknowledge us and take our order. Staff is very friendly and helpful when they get to you. The food is of good quality. I think because of their location and the locals they're targeting in the area, it's well done. Food is generally expensive for what you get. You're looking at a $20 regular sized and $24 large pho, with more premium options up to $45 with A5 wagyu. I miss the days when pho was an affordable comfort food. They give you plenty of bean sprouts, basil and jalapenos. Don't hesitate to ask for more if you need, no additional charge. The broth is delicious, maybe slightly saltier than I'd like, but very flavorful. We got the large combo and it was a good amount of noodles. All of the beef is really good (rare steak, cubes, brisket). Perfectly tender and just the right amount of fat. The meatball is nothing special. Overall, while the pho is good and worth a try, it's not a place I'd come back to often. The Promenade is experiencing a revival and new places are popping up left and right. Pho Redbo is one such newcomer to the area. It's pho but allegedly with wagyu beef instead. Not sure if the upcharge in price is worth it here. Pho and affordable go hand in hand and I didn't taste much difference compared to other places. Yes, the broth and pretty much everything is good and acceptable per pho standards, but it doesn't stand out because of the higher meat quality. Either way, you can come here if Pho Hana up the street is too busy haha. Redbo also serves random appetizers like sliders too which also are pretty standard and unremarkable. This is truly pho elevated -- the Wagyu beef just melts in your mouth. If you want to spurge, you should get the A5 Wagyu: the noodles and the broth comes on the side and you dip the thinly sliced Wagyu beef in the hot broth and it instantly cooks to your liking; dipping it into the ponzu sauce is chef's kiss. I recommend just dipping the A5 in the hot broth for a second only (medium rare). They also have some awesome appetizers like the pho sandwich and the Wagyu sliders, and the flaming Wagyu is a showstopper. Service was quick and friendly and ambience is just right. One of my newfound favorites in Rolling Hills Estates is Pho RedBo (locations in Garden Grove and Westminster too, but this is probably the closest one in the LA area!). It's the best spot for Vietnamese dishes with wagyu beef ! Interestingly, the whole restaurant is packed with tables that are diner-style and the ceiling is adorned with lanterns. Jaewon was our server for the evening and, thanks to his recommendations, we couldn't have had a better experience ! what we ordered + ratings below: passion fruit juice - 9/10 (a little subtle but it's super well-balanced with its sweetness, tang, and lightness in flavors and consistency) lychee juice - 9/10 (sweeter than the passion fruit juice--we love this one too!) flaming wagyu - 8.5/10 (nearly perfect texture and tenderness when requested medium rare; however, the ponzu sauce is very mild so you're focusing more on the quality of the beef) wagyu beef stew with baguette - 10/10 (rich, hearty, comforting like a warm hug...it has the perfect amount of wagyu beef cubes, cooked carrots, and consistency to dip the bread--no notes) wagyu fried rice - 9/10 (LOVED the way the wagyu and rice were cooked!
