Bibimbap

Wide selection of Korean dishes and solid complimentary side dishes. Love the clean and newer interior. Clean restrooms. Service was fine, typical of Korean restaurants - prompt and efficient, but not warm or friendly. Little higher than average prices for Korean restaurants but pretty good quality food. Convenient local restaurant with free and plentiful parking.

Me: Tofu places are just too expensive, at least make it worth my while. Jang Su Jang: Hold my soju. This place absolutely lives up to expectations. Came here with coworkers who were visiting onsite. We were great by the kindest staff. Sweet, humble, and polite. They sat us by the window. They gave us an option to order on the tablet or with them. We asked for separate checks since some of us were on business travel. No problem! Winning already. Let's talk about the delicious food. ALL the banchan were flavorful. I couldn't pick a favorite and didn't have to. They refilled all our banchan at least once. A few of them, twice! Some other places, I usually favor a couple. Not here. All of them were delicious. The kalbi short came out sizzling and was so tender. Didn't even need the scissors. Pick it up by the bone and bite. Yum! Tofu soup, spot on! I opted for the seafood with medium spice. Perfect. Came out boiling hot. They cracked the egg for us so no mess there. And the flavor will blow your mind. I can actually taste the different seafood pieces. Shrimp was still firm. Ambiance. Clean, high ceilings, and spacious. I saw plenty of locals eating there as well as solo diners coming off work. Talk about treating yourself after a long day of work. Bathroom was super clean and well stocked. And now for the bonus, so much free parking!! Jang Su Jang is in a nice plaza with a huge parking lot. If you're in the area, please visit this fine establishment.

Came by for lunch with my coworkers yesterday while in the area, and realized there has been so much change in this plaza! I used to work near the area years back and frequented this plaza whenever I craved Korean food so yesterday I was trying to look for Da Maat again but could not find it! But I found Jang Su Jang located where Tour Les Jours used to be, few doors down from where Da Maat used to be and found out they reinvented, renovated Da Maat and Cho Dang tofu to come up with JSJ!! This place is huge and modern and beautiful! They still kept Da Maat signature of interior design with the wall decor of bowls and cups on the wall! This place is designed to host large parties and customers. There is a tablet at each table where you can place your order and everything is super clean! Service was great and food tastes the same! The dumplings were delicious and so was the banchan, tofu soup, and bibimbap! Their hand cut noodles were delish also! We all enjoyed this new restaurant and if I work closer to here I would love to come here frequently!

Chicken Teri with sauce on the side. So great to have that option!

They've upgraded their ordering to no contact--just use the pad at the table. I had the Chicken Teriyaki (which I've had a couple times now). There's even an option for "sauce on the side" now! And there was even a "no rice" option which I selected. Pretty progressive for an Asian place to offer low-carb, yeah! :) The banchan was DELISH! *Crying emoji*. omg so good. I got 2nds for just about everything (3rd on some LOL). My hubby had the Army stew. He really liked it, I guess it even had melted cheese??! Always a good time at Jang Su Jang.

Still a great place to go to in the Torrance area, nearby the Del Amo mall! This is my go to tofu soup place, where I come once a month-ish. The food is always super good, and the ban Chans are great. I will say they do have less variety since I first started going last year. The dishes are still great. As long as they're not a super packed house, th service is pretty fast and the Korean ladies who wait on you are super sweet & work super fast. Very clean and modern decor at the restaurant and the bathrooms are pretty big and clean.

It's been a while since I came to this place. It used to be called Da Maat in the past. It wasn't too packed on a weekday lunch time. We got seated immediately. The table has a tablet to order but you can also order through the servers that come by. I got the beef and seafood soondubu with medium spice. While my coworkers got the beef bibimbap and Galbitang. The soondubu had a good balanced taste as opposed to a strong anchovy or seafood broth of other soondubus I have had. Also really enjoyed the variety of banchans they give for the meal. The sweet soy glazed potatoes really surprised me with their savory and sweet flavor. Definitely recommend trying that. Bibimbap was good but my coworkers did wish there was more meat in it as opposed to the amount that was given. The galbitang was also a bit more bone than meat but the soup itself was very clean and hearty. Interior was very clean and had modern decorations. The bowl display lining the walls was a nice decorative touch. Service was good they checked in with us pretty often. Parking wasn't an issue it's a decent sized lot with other food places nearby.

Jang Su Jang in Torrance is the perfect cure to a hangover, and I speak from experience LOL. The restaurant is bright, clean, and welcoming right as you enter! The store is also very spacious with lots of seating. My friends have been here many times and were raving about it, so we decided to stop by the morning after our night out -- and it was much needed. I ordered the kimchi beef tofu soup and it was so comforting and flavorful -- exactly what my body needed. My table and I all shared the seafood pancake and it was amazingly crispy, savory, and satisfying! The sauce it came with was perfection and it was filling enough for everyone at the table to grab a few pieces. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, like warm comfort food for the soul. The staff were friendly, service was rather quick, and the overall vibe was chill. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Jannnnnng, this place is goood! Let's start with the important part, plentyyyyy of parking and easy to get to; Big plus in my book always. Also they do take reservations, which is also a plus! To top it off the ambiance has an open modern feel to it which I really enjoyed as well. We were seated immediately and I really liked that they had the tablets to order your food from, it made it easier in my opinion to browse and order, but that doesn't take away from the service, everyone was nice and helpful as it was our first time too. We tried sooo many dishes but my favorites were definitely the Ddukbokki: I really liked the texture and the sauce was sooo flavorful, I could dip everything in it Seafood pancake: get it extra crispy, it really makes a difference in texture, and it definitely had a lot of seafood in it LA galbi: I really enjoyed the flavor and cook to this, it was tender and juicy, came right off the bone. I would come back for that exact order combo again. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the convenience of not having to go all the way to Ktown for some good Korean food is pretty worth it. I wish they offered corn cheese, that would make this place a go to for me for sure. All in all, I really did enjoy my dining experience, I will be back to try more dishes. Happy eats, loves! ^_^

Updating again, still excellent. We bought guests and everyone enjoyed the comfortable setting, delicious food and prompt service. We sampled and shared a variety from seafood pancake, LA Galbi , Kimchi beef tofu soup, and dosat Bibimbap. The guests in particular were impressed with the seafood they packed into the pancake.

I enjoyed the banchan here (okay, the non-spicy ones), and really liked the panjeon (pancake appetizer) here because it was fat and crispy on the outside. Better than the other one I had on this trip. We shared everything family style.

We came back and dined in this time, and the experience was excellent. There's plenty of seating, and it was especially appreciated that our guests using wheelchairs could sit comfortably at the table without feeling cramped. We ordered: * Seafood pancake - nicely crisp with a good amount of seafood. * Soft tofu soup - flavorful, though I personally would've liked a touch more seasoning. * Bossam (single serving) - tender and well portioned. * LA Galbi - juicy, well-marinated, and the favorite at the table. The service and ambiance really impressed us this visit -- both deserve a 5/5. Staff were attentive and friendly, and the dining area was comfortable and welcoming. Overall, the food quality remains strong and consistent, and the dine-in experience elevated things even more. Keeping this at a solid 4.5 stars, but now on the verge of a 5-star favorite. We'll definitely be back again!

Clean upscale Korean cuisine with a very contemporary setting. Staff is very attentive and courteous. The complimentary side dishes all had very good flavor especially the kimchi and pickles (if you want more just ask). Pork belly Salad was tasty as well as the mixed seafood noodle soup. The soup is not spicy as my 3 year old daughter ate half of it and loved it.

Food was very good. Very fresh and traditional Korean foods. Service was great, super fast and kind. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. We definitely will be back for more Korean cuisine!

They accept reservation for party of 5 or more ? They told me like that when I tried to make reservation for 4.

My friend told me they take reservations for party of 6 or more; we couldn't make a reservation for 5.

Can you buy gift certificates to the restaurant?

Yes, we have gift cards that you can choose the amount for.

Do they take reservations?

Yes, they do! You can also consider reserving the inner room (I think around 12 people), and the outer (covered patio) area (around 20 people). We made reservation for a Lunar new year party for the inner room, it was private and quiet. Please call… Read more

The panko crumbs on the chicken was nice and light. It was perfectly fried and not too hard/over crispy. The meat was also juicy. My toddler ate 3 large pieces of it and kept complimenting how tasty it was. The kim chi fried rice had a great fried egg in it and had great flavor. Even the side of rice was delicious! It was moist and sticky without being overcooked. The bad: I didn't get to experience the food court dining in the grocery store. The interesting: The dishes came with a side salad with orange dressing, pickled yellow radish, and some citrus wedges. The dishes came with 3 pickled side dishes (including kim chi). and a soup.

So we scoured its food court for a quick meal and found this stall with a large selection of Korean dishes. After browsing through their wall mount menu, we ordered the following dishes: A1 Galbi Tang: Do you like juicy pork ribs in clear broth? Then this dish is for you. It came with 2 huge pieces of super tender short rib simmered in a light but flavorful broth with some soft texture glass noodles. It also came with a small set of traditional Korean Banchan side dishes (with kimchi, preserved turnip and seaweed salad) and a bowl of steamed rice. A16 Hot Stone Bibimbap: This dish is for those who like veggies. Inside the hot stone bowl, there were lettuce, bean sprouts, carrots, turnips, mushrooms, and zucchini. Nicely arranged and topped with seaweed, fried egg, and slices of soft beef. On the bottom of the bowl, it had slightly burnt steam rice dabbed with sesame oil. Mixing them all together, it created a kaleidoscope of colors, and delicious blending of flavors and textures. This dish also came with one set of Banchan. For those who like spiciness, it provided Korean chili sauce in a sealed condiment cup. The portions were great and the prices were reasonable. Another great spot for casual Korean food in South Bay.
