BCD Tofu House is one of our favorite places to get Korean food in SoCal! The staff is always friendly and helpful and make sure to come by to check on us during our meal. The restaurant is family-friendly and able to accommodate groups, as well. They also have holiday specials (there was a sign for a Mother's Day special), and a lunch special during the week! Weekends are usually a little busy, but today was our first time coming during the week. There weren't that many people, and the service was fast and excellent as always! Been coming here since I was in high school. I've observed and experienced the service worsening year after year. It's unbearable now. The floor staff is made up of a bunch of mean Korean grandma's that stand around and gossip so much so, it gets in the way of the much needed efficiency that's required to operate a restaurant of this kind. Today, 3/27/2026 around 4:30, I was sat at a table right away. There were a few other two tops and a solo diners, but the restaurant wasn't busy at all. I sat for 15min. No water, no greeting. Two additional tables were sat, one table's order was taken immediately. Still, no one came to me with even a greeting. The staff gives preferential treatment to Korean patrons. I am a black male and I realize a lot of Koreans are racist, especially the older generation. Terrible, this sort of thing still happens in 2026. What a terrible experience. There were years when I'd come to BCD 3/4 times a week. Never again. I'll drive to K-town or just wait till I'm in NYC where the BCD is much more authentic and the service never misses. We like this location more than other ones. Their side dishes taste better & I like there are windows all around, letting the sunlight in. We got seafood soon-tofu & 곱창 (intestine) soon-tofu. We asked for the seafood pancake without the green onions and they said they will accommodate the request "this time" as the kitchen wasn't too busy yet. (We went around 4 pm so right before the dinner crowd. We enjoyed everything we ordered & the side dishes. We couldn't finish everything so brought the leftovers home. They even packed the seasoned soy sauce for the seafood pancake for us when we asked for to-go boxes. The staff were friendly & attentive. Service was pretty good here. Drinks were banchans were replenished regularly without asking. Food came out promptly. Bill and boxes for leftovers came without drama. Sadly, the soon tofu was not as tasty as the other place I frequent. It was very noticeable that it wasn't that flavorful, and mainly just salty and spicy without depth. We also ordered jaechae and seafood pancake. Both were satisfying with no complaints. Kimchi was fine, but some other restaurants have better. What amazed me the most was the sides, we all know Korean restaurants are known for their free bonchon, but they bring it to a new level with their perfect marinated and crispy fried croakers ( free- of course, but if you love them so much like me, they are $3/ giant croaker)! I didn't realize there were several locations of BCD Tofu in the LA area. My cousin's neighbor in Torrance recommended BCD. Came here with a few of my cousins over the holiday weeknight. The place was packed. We had about a half hour wait for a table. The wait was definitely worth it. I went with the Kalbi combination. Every dinner comes with a grilled fish and tofu hot pot. Warning, it's a lot of food, with endless banchan (Korean side dishes of marinated veggies, glass noddles and Kim-chi) my fav. I don't care to see the fish eye and tail on the grilled fish, I prefer my fish to be filleted. None the less the grilled fish was delicious. I loved my kalbi, nicely marinated and most of it was very tender. I also had Korean beer to compliment my meal. All my cousins enjoyed their meals as well. Service is fast and attentive. Service was excellent. The servers are quick, efficient and friendly. The banchan came out first. My fave is the small fried croaker. Then came the rice in the hot stone pot and the server scooped out the rice for us so she could pour the hot tea into pot. I wish the rice had more of a crust, but it was still very good. We ordered the soon tofu soup and the meats were a bit chewy, but the tofu was smooth and delicious. The soup comes boiling hot so the fresh egg cooks quickly. The servers come by often to give as much banchan we wanted. I loved the cucumber kimchi and had 3 dishes! They are so generous with the banchan. We had enough leftover rice and soup for another meal. Next time, I'm ordering the galbi combo that other patrons ordered since it looked so good. Can't wait to return. From the moment we arrived, they were clearly well organized and prepared for a busy service, with an efficient system in place to manage seating. Once seated, the service remained quick and efficient, our order was taken within five minutes. My wife ordered the original tofu soup with pork, while I went with the assorted tofu soup with beef and seafood. Both were enjoyable, but we felt they were missing a bit of depth or a stronger punch of flavor. That said, the side dishes were very tasty. My favorites were the potato salad and the fish cake, and they were kind enough to refill the banchan when I couldn't stop snacking on them. Overall, the experience was good, but it feels like the brand name plays a big role in drawing customers in. It's been years since we ate at BCD Tofu House in Torrance. I saw a yelp review and was craving something tasty for lunch. We recognized the restaurant after driving into their parking lot. We were seated quickly but it took a while for anyone to take our order. We ordered the spicy pork and kalbi combos off their lunch menu, which is good until 3 pm. With lunch, we had a choice of their tofu soups. I went with the dumpling soup and my husband ordered the one with beef. It was sizzling when brought to our table. We each also got a hot stone pot of rice. The portions were generous for lunch and we took the rest home for dinner. My husband enjoyed his spicy pork and I liked the kalbi. I've been here before and got my usual favorite dish, hot stone bowl bibimbap. On my latest visit, the hot stone bibimbap had so much rice and not much meat or veggies. It was a disappointment. I couldn't finish it. I also got the ham and sausage soup. The "sausage" looked and tasted just like American hot dogs. I got the Spicy Raw Crab Combo for lunch. Right off the bat, the soft tofu stew was really salty. Normally. The soft tofu is supposed to be thicker and "stew" like, but this "stew" was more like a soup. The taste was lacking in terms of a more deep flavor. We asked for more broth since it was thick. It didn't really make the taste any better, instead it made it more bland and less in depth in flavor. Was looking forward to try this place as I heard it's great for groups. BCD is located at the end of Victory Center on the Yoshinoya or Del Taco side. It is in a large strip mall full of eateries. There were several parking spots available including some in the back. I arrived early to reserve a table for my friends and it actually was not busy yet and there were plenty of tables available for our group size. The wait staff made sure we had waters and utensils. Then other groups, individuals, and couples started coming in and they were getting quite busy. This place sure gets loud. It can be tricky to hear your friend sitting 2 chairs away at your table w/how the acoustics are here. Service was fine and a couple of wait staff served us. I don't go out to Korean food often as I have to be cautious of my certain food/spice allergies. I ordered a bulgogi plate w/the least amount of spice. It was tasty. Been going to different BCDs for years because they have been consistently good wherever they are located. I always enjoy the fried yellow corvina fish they give when ordering soondobu. I love to get the dumpling soondobu with the hottest spice level. Fair warning though, I gave my dumpling to my cousin who was visiting from Hawaii and her face turned red and she broke out in a sweat from just the dumplings without the soup because it was too spicy for her. I really enjoyed my visit to BCD Tofu. We usually go to a local tofu house near our place but we were doing errands clear across town and needed a good lunch. I haven't been to a BCD for a few years so I was really looking forward to it. Admittedly, we've been trying their BCD-branded tofu soup found in Asian markets and although those are passable, nothing compares to the dramatic wow factor of enjoying tofu soup in a restaurant (especially one that specializes in it). We were greeted and seated immediately after we walked in and had a few minutes to look over the menu before our server took our order. I went with the "Assorted - Spicy" which included clams, shrimp and beef. It also came with the classic stone pot rice, a small fried fish and banchan (side dishes such as kimchi, salted spicy squid, spicy cucumbers, fishcake and dried salty/sweet anchovies? ) I can't get enough banchan and BCD offers a nice variety. My tofu soup tasted great with the banchan and also white rice and egg mixed in. I was so satisfied and full by the end. Service is pretty good, you may have to get their attention when it gets busy but they will get to you as fast as possible. The whole team/staff works well together and it shows! As a TRUE KOREAN myself, BCD is somewhere I eat twice a week especially this location! My favorite sever is Sunny! Shes the best. She's always friendly and her service is 10/10!!! We love her and look forward seeing her. Their Ban Chan (side dishes) are always fresh and depending what they have I loveeee eating it. Especially their traditional ones I grew up eating from my mom. My personal favorite of their side dishes is their kimchi, spicy cucumber, squid, shredded seaweed (they have it sometimes), and potato salads are my faves! They bring refills around too. My go to order that always hits the spot is combo #1 Galbi and ham and sausage (spicy) combo. Their seafood pancake is good as well. Ask for them to make it crispy! I also recommend their hot stone beef bibimbap if you're not into their tofu soup. They'll ask you for hot tea or water I get the hot tea (barely tea) It's always really busy here in a good way because it's good. Nowadays this location seems to really skimp on their galbi & sometimes the seasoning is a hit or miss. Our family has been a regular at this place for over 10 years, and enjoyed their tripe soondubu, their banchan is a tasty variety and the change every few weeks is a welcome surprise. Over the past months, the manager seemed to always be at the establishment and helping out whenever he could. He regularly supported the staff and even went around to check each table for banchan refills or any requests, elevating the speedy service and adding a homely touch. Due to my mom's chemotherapy, she had a greater sensitivity & adverse reactions to some foods. Thankfully, soondubu was not one of them and their quality was always consistent, so we came looking forward to a night without stress and left with a full stomach. However recently, as business started to become better, it seems as though the staff has become more discriminating against those with health issues. Recently, my mom lost her hair, so it's been difficult to find a place she was comfortable with eating out. My family and I came today and were looking forward to eating here, but were met with an entirely different experience. As regulars, we knew what we wanted to eat and waited to order, as it was understandably busy during lunchtime. However, normally the staff serves banchan after ordering. I tried to ask for assistance to the few staff that were standing, especially as we were seated right next to the cashier and were close enough to reach the banchan set at the front, but after numerous times of raising my hand and asking for assistance, it seemed as though they deliberately ignored our requests and did not bother to acknowledge us. At this point, we had been waiting for 30 minutes after being seated and was honestly humiliated, and after speaking with the manager who did not seem to care in the slightest, we left the establishment. Many of our friends raved about CBD tofu for the longest time and we finally decided to give it a try while looking for a place for lunch in a cool fall Saturday morning. Located in the eastern end of Torrance, it is a standalone building with plenty of parking spaces. The servers were very nice and we got seated right away. The menu is shown on the paper placemat on each seating and it was very easy to understand. All orders come with small complementary side dishes plus their signature salted small fried fish. I ordered non-spicy seafood tofu. It was ready in about 15 minutes and the bowl was boiling hot which is perfect to cook the complementary raw egg. The tofu had a very nice texture (firm but smooth) and the seafood were fresh. The soup broth was on the light side but not bland. The rice was served in a stone pot which kept it warm throughout the meal (one suggestion, the slightly burnt part of the rice at the bottom of the pot can be added to your soup, it is quite unique and tasty). The complementary side dishes were great, kimchi was well seasoned and not overly spicy, the small fish was tasty, but my personal favorite was potato salad (yes, potato salad!)
