The servers are always friendly, attentive, and happy to refill the banchan whenever we ask. Their warm smiles and excellent service make every visit even more enjoyable. When my friend visited from the Philippines, I brought them to BCD in Manhattan, New York, and they loved it so much that we ate there two days in a row. 1-Bulgogi had no flavor. 2-They give you free fried fish when you order food but I told them no thank you and the lady lectured me that they will throw away if we don't eat. She made me feel bad but we don't like fried fish. 3-When we were ready to leave we paid Apple Pay and the computer had a loading sign for a min so the lady tried canceling the charge. It wouldn't cancel. So I showed her my Apple Pay wallet and my credit card online statement that the payment went through. They made me wait there over 25 mins to make sure payment went through. Unacceptable! I have 2 kids with me. They made me pay again and now I have to dispute one charge. Never has this ever happened to me anywhere. General manager is rude and unprofessional! read more

The manager (?), tall Korean guy seemed efficient, friendly and cared about all customers. Our waitress lady was so sweet. Talk about comfort food; it definitely hits different when you're eating this hot out the kitchen, fresh. My go-to combo is C2: galbi + soon tofu and it was just SO tasty. Enjoyed a dinner with family on a Saturday evening and we joined the waitlist. We waited no more than 5-10 mins. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was small, but seated many. I used to come to BCD Tofu House all the time, and after not going for a while, I decided to drop in for lunch. I ordered the combo with beef bulgogi and spicy pork. Both were really good, and they definitely give you a good portion size. A big highlight here is that the side dishes are always consistent--I love that they still give you the fried fish with your meal. Service was just okay during this visit. The restaurant was very busy, so I had some trouble flagging down a waiter when I wanted a water refill. It's been years since we ate at BCD Tofu House in Torrance. I saw a yelp review and was craving something tasty for lunch. We recognized the restaurant after driving into their parking lot. We were seated quickly but it took a while for anyone to take our order. We ordered the spicy pork and kalbi combos off their lunch menu, which is good until 3 pm. With lunch, we had a choice of their tofu soups. I went with the dumpling soup and my husband ordered the one with beef. It was sizzling when brought to our table. We each also got a hot stone pot of rice. The portions were generous for lunch and we took the rest home for dinner. My husband enjoyed his spicy pork and I liked the kalbi. They were pretty busy on a weekday, but we were served pretty quickly once our orders were taken. I'll be back! read more

Sadly, the soon tofu was not as tasty as the other place I frequent. It was very noticeable that it wasn't that flavorful, and mainly just salty and spicy without depth. We also ordered jaechae and seafood pancake. Both were satisfying with no complaints. Kimchi was fine, but some other restaurants have better. I didn't realize there were several locations of BCD Tofu in the LA area. My cousin's neighbor in Torrance recommended BCD. Came here with a few of my cousins over the holiday weeknight. The place was packed. We had about a half hour wait for a table. The wait was definitely worth it. I went with the Kalbi combination. Every dinner comes with a grilled fish and tofu hot pot. Warning, it's a lot of food, with endless banchan (Korean side dishes of marinated veggies, glass noddles and Kim-chi) my fav. I don't care to see the fish eye and tail on the grilled fish, I prefer my fish to be filleted. None the less the grilled fish was delicious. I loved my kalbi, nicely marinated and most of it was very tender. I also had Korean beer to compliment my meal. All my cousins enjoyed their meals as well. Service is fast and attentive. The server at the pick up desk was super rude. I gave her my name but she kept demanded order confirmation on my phone. There was literally one pick up bag and she refused to hand it off to me despite me giving my specific name and what I ordered. I had to go back to my car and get the phone. I showed her the screen that says my order is likely to be ready and there was the store address. She said that is not enough and that she has to see the list of items I ordered. I never experienced this type of demand at any pick up before in my life and she was adamant. I had to scroll through multiple screens and finally was able to show her what she wanted. From the moment we arrived, they were clearly well organized and prepared for a busy service, with an efficient system in place to manage seating. Once seated, the service remained quick and efficient, our order was taken within five minutes. My wife ordered the original tofu soup with pork, while I went with the assorted tofu soup with beef and seafood. Both were enjoyable, but we felt they were missing a bit of depth or a stronger punch of flavor. That said, the side dishes were very tasty. My favorites were the potato salad and the fish cake, and they were kind enough to refill the banchan when I couldn't stop snacking on them. Overall, the experience was good, but it feels like the brand name plays a big role in drawing customers in. Was looking forward to try this place as I heard it's great for groups. BCD is located at the end of Victory Center on the Yoshinoya or Del Taco side. It is in a large strip mall full of eateries. There were several parking spots available including some in the back. I arrived early to reserve a table for my friends and it actually was not busy yet and there were plenty of tables available for our group size. The wait staff made sure we had waters and utensils. Then other groups, individuals, and couples started coming in and they were getting quite busy. This place sure gets loud. It can be tricky to hear your friend sitting 2 chairs away at your table w/how the acoustics are here. Service was fine and a couple of wait staff served us. I don't go out to Korean food often as I have to be cautious of my certain food/spice allergies. I ordered a bulgogi plate w/the least amount of spice. It was tasty. I really enjoyed my visit to BCD Tofu. We usually go to a local tofu house near our place but we were doing errands clear across town and needed a good lunch. I haven't been to a BCD for a few years so I was really looking forward to it. Admittedly, we've been trying their BCD-branded tofu soup found in Asian markets and although those are passable, nothing compares to the dramatic wow factor of enjoying tofu soup in a restaurant (especially one that specializes in it). We were greeted and seated immediately after we walked in and had a few minutes to look over the menu before our server took our order. I went with the "Assorted - Spicy" which included clams, shrimp and beef. It also came with the classic stone pot rice, a small fried fish and banchan (side dishes such as kimchi, salted spicy squid, spicy cucumbers, fishcake and dried salty/sweet anchovies? ) I can't get enough banchan and BCD offers a nice variety. My tofu soup tasted great with the banchan and also white rice and egg mixed in. I was so satisfied and full by the end. Service is pretty good, you may have to get their attention when it gets busy but they will get to you as fast as possible. The whole team/staff works well together and it shows! A great soon du boo chain that's been pretty consistent since they've opened in Cerritos/Artesia. It's great that they're opened late as well. Been going to different BCDs for years because they have been consistently good wherever they are located. I always enjoy the fried yellow corvina fish they give when ordering soondobu. I love to get the dumpling soondobu with the hottest spice level. Fair warning though, I gave my dumpling to my cousin who was visiting from Hawaii and her face turned red and she broke out in a sweat from just the dumplings without the soup because it was too spicy for her.
