Should i start by the Employee who referred me to Sephora, when i asked about a Lorac product..she said "they have more product" she said! Well just so happens Sephora stopped selling Lorac a few months ago. Anyway after rolling my eyes and walking away, I noticed that the security guard was right behind me. I thought it was odd but continued my browsing. My daughter came to me with some stuff to purchase and again i noticed the security guard. I said " i feel like i'm being followed" my two kids said "he is!" So i continued my way to the front of the store my i took a look at a make up bag and i turn around and this security guard is right behind me again! So i dump the bag and go to the line to pay. At that point he makes it up to the register and is pretending to type on the screen. I ask for the manager and the unfriendly Cashier with the Bad shade of dark purple lipstick, said she was the manager.. so i mentioned how uncomfortable it is to shop with security guard following me. I turn around and look at him and say " would you like to check the stroller? i'm sure nothing gets by you". He said he no, and said i asked your son not to mess with the items, I said " well did you direct your concern to me? an Adult! his mother? Why are you concerned if he messes with the hair items ? is he not allowed to purchase hair product? To be honest i didn't let the guy have a word. He annoyed me so much, so when i was done, he started to say something and all this time the girl with the purple lipstick just stood there. I asked her " are you seriously going to let a him, a outside service! talk back to your customers like that? Highly disappointed in this Ulta. My sister used to work at an Ulta so I know what the standards are. For one that security guard literally follows you around and stares at you. I've been there numerous times and he keeps on doing it. I have had enough. They need to make the customers feel more welcomed and not like a criminal. I come into this Ulta on a regular basis probably once every two weeks or so (payday treat). The girls here are very helpful and always point me to the right direction. I was here last night and one of the girls was so helpful and so knowledgeable on all of my oily skin concerns. She heard me out and listed to exactly what I wanted and I'm very happy with her suggestions. I wanted to try a drugstore foundation that was light to medium natural coverage since I'm a little over the high end brands that deliver such a full coverage. She suggested Maybelline Fit me Matte and the color shade was spot on, a perfect match. She also showed me the MAC fix + matte and I would have never given that spray a chance but I sure am glad I did because Its working great after 6 hours of uses I would normally look like an oil slick but my foundation and setting powder still looks great. I didn't get her name but I think she may be new or work at the MAC counter. Thank you so much for your help. Of course, I'll be returning soon. I also want to mention how much inventory and brands they have added here within the last few weeks. When they first opened a few years ago there was minimal to choose from, now there is so much to look at when I walk in, I could spend hours in there and lose track of time! This is an update on the last 3 times I have gone in this Ulta. So I was here back in March this year to purchase a few things. Mind you I am a regular shopper here and I have been in this place well over 3 times. So when I walked into Ulta the security who was an older woman with short hair immediately said "excuse me, excuse me do you have something in your bag because its making the sensor go off. I said no I don't have anything, She said are you sure because I could hold whatever you had if you came from a different store. I responded by saying no I didn't come from anywhere else and I don't have anything in my purse. She insisted that if I have something its going to continue to make it go off. Anyways, I said no again I don't have anything and what do you want me to do, do you want me to leave or can I come in to get what i needed. She oh its ok I just want to let you know. I said ok thanks. So, as I am walking around through the aisles browsing as I normally would do I notice the same security guard close by and as I would look she would pretend she was looking at something. That has never happened to me before here or anywhere really. I was there for about 30 minutes and I saw her in every area of the store I was in looking at me as if I were stealing or maybe it was for some other strange reason. I am in dire need of a haircut and decided to book an appointment online since I was going in to buy products anyway. Booking online was super easy and convenient, so I thought! I made the appointment for 6:45 on Saturday March 14th. I walk in 15 min early and go straight to the salon and let the young lady know I am there for an appointment at 6:45. She gives off this vibe of concern and looks to me and asks you have an appointment at 6:45 and I said yes I booked it online. She says well Jasmine didn't show up and that is who you are booked with. I said I chose to be cut by any stylist and she said the system automatically assigns you to a stylist when you do that and unfortunately Jasmine didn't come in. She felt bad I could tell and it wasn't her fault. She turns to a stylist there and asks if she has time to do my hair the stylist said no. The lady turns to me and says sorry I don't have anyone to cut your hair, and asks if I want to book another appointment. At this point I am frustrated and say no. It was a waste of time and gas and all they could offer was another appointment. Obviously there is a flaw in their online booking appointment. If they know it automatically assigns someone then if someone calls off they should be watching the online booking system to cancel or accommodate appointments that get assigned to someone who calls off. It isn't my fault they have a fault in the way their system works. ULTA needs to review this online booking process! read more

I went in solely for a new foundation and to get color matched. This location is really close to where I live so I come here often. Generally, I have great experiences (besides the giant hole it puts in my wallet) but this time not so much. Basically, they need more staff at this location. I was not greeted when I walked in or stopped to ask if I needed help. I had to go around looking for someone to acknowledge/help me instead. I was almost to the point of leaving very dissatisfied which is also disappointing because I'm an avid Ulta binger. I did express my feelings to the assistant manager, Amanda, when she going to ring me up because she noticed the expression in my face wasn't very pleased. At that point, she was very attentive and was able to help color match me. She recommended I try the BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme and am liking it so far. DO NOT SHOP HERE! This place is violating all of COVID regulations. More than 5 employees have tested positive for COVID with the last 10 days and the store was not closed, sanitized nor employees made aware who were in close contact! This is completely disgusting. I went in today and observed how employees do not keep 6 ft away from each other or customers. Counters aren't being disinfected after transactions nor the doors are being sanitized. I also asked an employee if the do temp check for them and he stated no. That the managers don't care and make them go in to work if they are sick. Which is probably why they have so many Covid cases. Scary! Shop elsewhere. These money hungry people are infecting lots of families. Shame on you ULTA. My first visit here was terrible. The girl must have known nothing about makeup cus she just would NOT recommend me anything. And it started getting me mad. I don't know why this Ulta does not have higher ratings. As a resident of the South Bay, I've been exclusively going to the Ulta in Redondo Beach, but no more! I went to this Ulta after reading reviews about Michelle at the Benefit Brow Bar. I consider myself a brow aficionado, but haven't been able to find someone to do them locally. Michelle no longer works at this location, so I booked an appointment with Kiana, who was kind and warm on the phone. Upon walking to the Benefit station, I knew exactly who she was because she had the most poppin' brows at the Bar. I had them waxed at the Redondo Beach store about a month ago, and the woman did NOT do a good job. After letting them grow in, it was time to have them remapped, shaped, and waxed. Kiana did all of this and then some! She explained each step and showed me my brows one by one, so I could know exactly what was going on. I have never had someone do such a great job with giving me the natural shape and definition I desire, without having them filled in. Kiana is EXCELLENT, and I would highly recommend her. But of course I had them filled in, because I am a fan of peak fleekness. Since she had another customer, I allowed Alex (I think that's her name) to fill them in, who also had lovely brows and is a new team member in training. Alex did a great job as well. I usually don't book automatic appointments, but I made an appointment to go back in four weeks and I'm excited. I've finally found my go-to brow girl! Y'all should check her out. read more

I managed to get an appointment with the salon manager, Mary, and she gave me a great cut and blow out. The prices here are very reasonable and all of the stylists are great. She was very helpful and her attitude was great!!! She was very helpful when I asked for more item selections from the specials. Today I took my mom to Ulta in Compton. We were in the store for a good 10 minutes trying to find a specific brow color and product. Although there are a number of young Ulta employees congregating in one area of the make up section, not one of them offer d any assistance! I finally decided to break their little chat session up and ask for help. The young lady came over and was absolutely no help as she wasn't able to show us any of the colors we needed, nor did she even offer for my mom to sample. I had to ask another employee for more of the applicators so that she could try the make up and I could try a lipgloss. Once they gave me the applicators, they cleared the area and went back to talking to one another. I get sick and tired of these young, lazy females in customer service positions who aren't providing customer service!! I will not visit this IUlta store again!! I just walked out of this store and came straight on yelp to write this review. I came in to purchase Shea Moistures African black soap because someone recommended it to me. Cheyenne was the one who was helping me at checkout and I noticed that the packaging said "for severely dry skin", not "for acne prone skin" as it did in the picture that was sent to me. I asked Cheyenne about it and she told me that "they didn't have a packaging labeled that way". I then raised my phone to try and show her a picture of it and when I was about to start talking she rudely cut me off. She wasn't interested in what I wanted to show her or ask her. She didn't take the time to help me out with the little confusion I was having. It seemed that all she wanted to do is to get me out of there as quickly as possible so she can go back and chat with her co worker. & let me say that she ain't the only rude employee here. You can also add Christina to the list of rude incompetent employees. Ugly customer service. What a shame! I rarely write reviews but I walked into this location and the customer service was so amazing I just had to! I was in search for a moisturizer to help with the redness on my face as well as a sun screen. I had originally gone to the Ulta at the Downey Promenade and although their service was not bad, it was no where near as phenomenal as the customer service I got from the ladies at the Compton location! When I walked into the Downey location I was not greeted nor was anyone available to assist me and the store was not busy so I decided to leave because I wasn't getting any help. I decided to try a location a little closer to home and ended up here. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and was offered help immediately! There were 3 young ladies that stood out to me because they were just amazing! (I know one of them was the manager) I wish I would have asked for their names! I asked one of them for help finding a good moisturizer and she recommended a few and went over the differences with me until I decided which one I wanted. I then asked her for a sun screen, and I'm not sure if she didn't know which one to recommend or what it was but I must say that I loved how all of them worked together and asked amongst each other for recommendations. I was then helped by a different young lady that provided me with about 4 different options of sun screens from their wide variety. She literally explained to me how each one worked differently and then recommended the one she believed was best for me skin type. She stayed with me until she was sure she had answered all of my questions. I then started wandering around the store and found a few lipglosses that I liked but I was unsure about which ones I wanted when the first young lady who helped me walked by. Long story short, she stood There with me and compared lip glosses with me for about 15 minutes! She created testers for the ones I wanted to try and even brought out one of her own personal lip oils to show me the color and difference between the glosses. I felt like I was shopping with a friend! You don't get amazing customer service like this everyday! Lastly, the manager helped me at check out with some issues that I had which was just the icing on the cake. I applaud the ladies and this location and I will definitely only be shopping at this Ulta from now on! I noticed that Ulta had a Sale on the "Smashbox" Photo finish primer and I have been wanting to try it out because I heard its really good for oily skin. For only $10 for a 0.5fl Oz now thats a deal so i got me two. I thought it was a good deal since I never tried it before and it was a good price for a travel size. Anyway, before going in today I went to a different Ulta store and they didn't have any In stock. I called many others and they sold out as well. Today i called in the Ulta in Compton and they said they had some. So I went in and "Yesenia" i believe was her name since thats what the receipt shows. I never got the time to write this review, until now. So I made an appointment for my mother & I to have our make up done. When I called two days before to confirm they said confirmed and told me that TWO MAKEUP ARTISTS was going to do our make up, now we had a wedding to attend that we arrived to the appointment an hour early. We got there and it was one make-up artist. ONE, and I asked her where's the other makeup artist. she said she doesn't know and her MANAGER WAS THERE and said it's only one. Now me and my mother already wasted an hour with this girl who don't get me wrong was sweet but she didn't know how to do anything, I'm not saying I'm an expert but she's was worse than my mother and she can't do her make up well. I think she kinda rushed it to cause we had to leave at a certain time but come on she made my mom look like Donald trump and I as a ghost which is funny cause we're Mexican. I was so annoyed that this happened and we had to run out looking like that but this is totally unprofessional. We have another wedding coming up, we decided to do our own make-up. Next time MANAGER if you see that your worker is struggling learn how to schedule correctly or help out your employees. read more

Employees have been standing here by the L'oreal section and fragrances for the last 10mins. I walked past and no one said anything.
