I am a proud and happy customer and I've been going to skin essence for over 10years. Ive had services provided by Pam, Charise and Gwen. I went in with bumpy oily skin and now my face is smooth and Ance free. But on today I'm here to share how over joyed I am with a service that was new to me. I am a dark nominated woman and my skin from head to toe was uneven due to the fact that I love to be in the sun, but Charise and Pam Has changed my life. My skin is even from smooth shining and gleaming due to a service that I received last month called face and body peel. which removed the layers of old dried dead skin. first I did my face and after two weeks I fell in love then I said oh my body has to get the same treatment so my body took all of three weeks to completely peel and on the fourth week all of my skin underneath was revealed to me, and I am in love with my new body. Got my first upper lip & chin wax here. It went pretty smoothly, there was barely any pain. The wax lady was knowledgeable and gentle with me. My only gripe was my appt was at 10 am & my service didn't start till around 10:45 am. The wax lady did apologize for the wait & gave me a free rose water toner, so that makes up for it. Again did not want to Bash a black business but they need to learn from this , and I hope you all learn as well what my experience was . customer service was 100 but the lack of knowledge dismisses all of that if you are a license esthetician you should not let UN licenses staff dictate what products to use on your patient skin , the products began to visible brighten my skin which my hyper pigmentation noticeable and they begin to get worse as in i had more of hyperpigmentation then what i started with , after following my GUT and my heart something told me stop using their products when i broke out in a rash ! here are the pics of what happen to my skin , I kindly asked the owner and the staff to help me and they left me on read and stop responding to me , little did they know they caused me more pain mentally , i already was going through a lot and to have to wake up with my skin like that set me more back ! Came in for a full body polish with Mari. It's started with a body Enzyme that had to activate for 10 min then I rinsed off with a body wash, exfoliate, body oil, and topped off with body butter! My skin is 2 shades lighter and I'm glowing. I highly recommend this service. My only issue was when checking out. I was told a certain promo over the phone and when I checked out it was something different. Seemed like everyone wasn't on the same page about the promotion! I use to love this place and I never remember why I stopped going and I went for mother's day and remembered instantly. They booked me for a time once I got there I learned that everyone there had the same time and was mostly booked for the same person. My facial was rushed therefore was not a relaxing experience. Im positive that the facial I booked was not the facial she gave me. Alot of the other people were booked for Pam While in the room under the steam I heard the staff saying that Pam was not even coming in that day. The ladies sat for a while before they were notified. The fact that they only has 2 people doing facial ls but booked everyone for the same time was insane on top of that the lady kept scraping my face with some kind of tool I asked her what it was she said she was doing extractions I never had extractions done that way. If the owner is there. It is professional. I went on a Wednesday and she was not there. The employees were loud, unprofessional, and unorganized. It was truly a trip from hell. They were loud for the time that I was there but went silent as I entered the lobby. The joke was on me. How unprofessional. Diamond was the person who was supposed to do my facial. She ran in and out of the room, giggling and was very unorganized. I have never been there and encountered this behavior. The people that were there have created an unprofessional environment for a business that has made an excellent reputation for itself. I can't believe that this is allowed. My amazing facial by Pam. I had an appointment at 11:00 am. I arrived at 11:05 am and before I could sit down, I was placed in a room. I had a gown and a hair wrap to put on. I was immediately put on the steamer( whatever it's called). Pam came in the room to say hello and check on me. After the steamer, Pam started my facial. The music playing old school, ( It just soothed my soul) the politeness of the staff & Pam made it so soothing. The facial itself made my face glow and beautiful as my neightor told me. I really wanted to love this place especially because it is a black owned business but I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. I went for the teens facial and for the free follow up and both times I ended up staying there from 3-4 hours for a facial that should've taken less time. The response I got was they over booked the 2 times I came and it was a "sad inconvenience". There were several moments where the esthetician left me in the room for more than 20 minutes just for her to realize the steamer was not working. Even when I came for a follow up appointment there were several time she would leave and come back several minutes later. Thankfully, I've had facials in the past and know such behaviors is not normal. I got there at 1 and left at 4 twice which is why you must pay me to go back. Since then I've found another place for facials and unfortunately it is not a black owned business. read more

I have not tried one of their services but I'm sure they are great. I just have a problem with their products. I just bought their face wash and bump serum and I would have expected that they at least would fill the bottles up. The bump serum is already a tiny bottle and they only filled it half way. I just feel like I was ripped off for paying $36 for only half a bottle! read more

I decided to go back today to purchase products and as I opened the door, a very rude employee ran to the door and said "we're not open, I have to mop" and closed the door back. Unacceptable Let me start by saying I am being generous giving this place 2 stars, its only because I like the products. Facial service gets a -1. I visited this place on January 5, 2019 for a facial, I arrived on time and was shown right in. My appointment was with Gwen but another person showed me to my room and put the steamer on my face. After 20 minutes of that Gwen comes in, looks at my face and talks to me for about 5 minutes and left. 30 minutes later she comes in, does a few extractions, puts a mask on my face (that took all of 8 minutes) and leaves again. 15 mins later the person that initially shows me in, removes the mask and puts some other cream on my face (that took 5 minutes) and says I'm done. I was there for an hour and half and they spent a total of 15 minutes on my face. Gwen couldn't even be bothered to come in and see how the facial went! I never like to give a negative review without giving the company a chance to address the issue, so I called and left a total of 4 messages for the owner over the last 2 months and never got a reply. I pre-purchased 3 facials at their annual Customer Appreciation and I have 1 more left. I would rather lose the money and the last facial then to waste my time at this place ever again. I'll find somewhere else to purchase my products as well. Do yourself a favor, go down the street to Massage Envy for a facial; it may cost a little more but you get in on time, the esthetician never leaves the room, and you get great customer service from a knowledgeable esthetician. I know I said I was going to give it 2 stars, after typing all of that, I'm angry again. read more

I had the pleasure of having a facial done by JOY!!! It was awesome and I will be coming back as a faithful customer! I had the facial starter package and it was much needed because I haven't had a facial in over 10 years. The facial started with a steam and a scrub and then into a mask and then onto the facial extractions and then back to the soothing masks which I got a pumpkin and vitamin C mask and I came out GLOWING!
