I've been here a good handful of times now and I feel so welcomed here! Brought my mom to Beyond Skincare on multiple occasions to show her what it's like to treat ourselves to rest and relaxation. My elderly mom is the kind of woman that has a challenging time pausing to relax. We had short head massages on our first visit. I don't think I've ever seen my mom so relaxed in a long time! It convinced me to purchase a longer head massage for our second visit. At first my mom was resistant to doing something longer but she enjoyed it! I also enjoy getting the head massages for myself! It's a great budget-friendly alternative to a full body massage, and it's surprisingly effective at releasing stress. On our last visit, mom and I had facial treatments. Our skin was glowing! Don't tell my mom but I have gone here a couple times without her...lol! I had a lovely spa day with friends. It was fun watching each person walk out of each treatment in such a blissful state. This is an absolute hidden gem in Carson! The owner Rich is so friendly, helpful, and dedicated to wellness and quality skincare. Her staff is also great. My mother in law treated us a spa day before our wedding at Beyond Skin Care and it was exactly what we needed! The salon is so clean, warm and inviting and the staff is extremely sweet and attentive you feel like family right when you walk in! My fiancé got the "best facial of his life" he says, so relaxing and his skin is absolutely glowing! I tried the head spa massage and it was heavenly! So relaxing, and felt great to detox my scalp ( I loved the in depth photos before and after too!) with the added on collagen mask and massage, I could be there all day! I've been going to this place for my facials for years now as I love Rich's personal service and how she takes care of my skin. She is now offering a new service and I took advantage of her promo to try it out. She also just remodeled to highlight her heritage as a Filipina entrepreneur. Using authentic fabrics from the Philippines as a wrap instead of the usual towels wraps, called "malong". The space was so unique and honey and not cold and clinical like most spas. The HEAD WELL treatment was a full body and sensory experience and not just for hair and scalp. It starts with this high-tech machine analyzing your hair and scalp to diagnose how to best treat you. Then you pick a scent to help you relax. The room was nicely done and the treatment bed warm and comfy. I was just so relaxed. It included a facial, head, neck, shoulder, arm and hand massage and a longer treatment that includes feet! You get your feet soaked and massaged. It's just the most relaxing 90 minutes you will have. And my scalp felt clean and after care analysis shows the difference. They also gave me a tea after to relax at their sitting area in the back. Which I needed. It's a slow "good bye, you're done"... *lol* I'll certainly be back at least once a month as part of my wellness routine. read more

This was my first head spa treatment. Annette was amazing in explaining the process of taking scalp photos to analyze what treatment works best for my needs. The treatment was relaxing, included head, face, neck, shoulder and arm massage. After the session my hair felt silky, and looked bouncy. My hair definitely looked happy and was dancing with life. I'm updating my review/ after two weeks a lot of them fall off. I don't know if it's the glue they use, but in the past I've been able to go 3-4 weeks between touch ups! ------------------------------------------------ I stumbled upon this place from a groupon for eyelash extensions and since it was close to my home I said I'll take my chances. This isn't my first time getting extension so I was pleased when the facility reminded me of my previous experience. So far I'm thoroughly pleased. Today I went in for my second refill with Mya. The location is at the end of a strip mall and the parking lot is one way - so I made a couple of turns to finally get situated. Mya is very nice and professional. My eyelashes turned out great! Bought a Groupon for eyelash extensions per Yelp review that Maya was the go-to girl for eyelash extensions. The spa was easy to find but the parking was small and tight so I parked on the street which was ok. The exterior of the place was not that impressive. There was no window to look in, just the entrance door so that made the interior dark. Got in the spa and it was quiet, nice and clean. That was a plus for me. The young lady who opened the door to let me in, greeted me and was very nice. The GOOD (and reason for giving this place 5 stars): The Aesthetician, MAYA came right out and was ready to rock-n-roll! She greeted me with a nice smile and took me to the room. The first thing I noticed and liked about her is that she was soft spoken and examined the state of my existing eyelash extensions. My existing lashes were quite long and I wanted them removed to get a new shorter set on. Since I told her my existing lashes were my first set, she educated me about eyelash extensions, the available types and basically took the time to tell me the steps on how she removes existing extensions - from what type of solution she puts on the lashes to dissolve the existing glue to cleaning/combing out my natural lashes out before putting on the primer before putting on new set of eyelash extensions. She was happy to answer any questions I had which totally impressed me because sometimes when clients ask questions, the worker automatically thinks the client does not trust them or their work and they get upset. Maya was awesome because she actually cares about her clients. She said she loves what she does which is another plus for me and she likes to put lashes on so that clients eyelashes look "classy" which I appreciate. I was impressed on how meticulous she was in her work and she was very gentle/light-handed. As we were coming to an end, she examined the lashes she put on again and then made sure I was happy with her work which I totally was. The other thing I liked was that she was very appreciative of my business and that I came in and sought her out from the Yelp reviews. The BAD: The place was nice and small so noise travels and vibrates in the small space. I (and most people) go to a spa to get away from there home to relax and get some quiet time. This place was VERY LOUD! Granted it was a small place but I was in a room with the door closed but I can hear every conversation going on and since I was the first one there, I believe the loud talking was the staff. It was very disturbing and I could not relax and could hardly hear what my Aesthetician was saying to me which was upsetting. I mean, when I say it was loud, it was L-O-U-D!!! Needless to say, if it wasn't for Maya, I don't think I would be returning to Beyond Skin Care and I'm pretty sure that a lot of people would feel the same. I'm not sure who reads this review but I honestly believe that reviews are important for business owners. A lot of people go to Yelp and read the reviews and I believe a lot of people go to places of business because of the reviews so I'd like to make a suggestion to the owner or manager of this place. Spas or salons are suppose to be a place that people go to for solace, relaxation, quiet time to themselves and a place to distress themselves. Customers DO NOT want to hear LOUD TALKING and LAUGHING and in another language because #1, in states, speaking in your native language in a place of business is considered RUDE to the clients and #2, it's not PROFESSIONAL. I would like to think that business owners would want to succeed in their business and WANT customers to COME BACK because returning customers bring success and money to the business. I came here after my mom and brother were both satisfied with their facials. I have been breaking out like crazy for the past few months. I wasn't removing my makeup and cleaning my face thoroughly, so there was a lot of clogged pores and oil build up causing pimples on pimples on pimples.
