We had the Pad Thai, dumplings, coconut lemongrass soup and egg rolls for dinner tonight. Matt says he will eat the soup all day every day for the rest of his life! I (Katie) likes it too but thought it would be better if the veggies were cut a bit smaller, it was kinda hard to eat with a spoon. Absolutely loved the water chestnuts in the soup though! We ordered it spicy but there wasn't much spice to it. Dumpling and egg roll sauces were really good, and so were the egg rolls but dumplings could have a bit more flavor. I was very pleased with the takeout option and felt it was safe with COVID. Overall a good experience! read more

I am glad for the existence of this place in Ned as I really like the curry here. The masaman is my favorite, but I'm also a fan of the green. The portion sizes are merely adequate for the price and the tofu could use some prep, but nothing I've had here is bad. I've always gotten take out, so I haven't experienced the full range of service, but what I have experienced has been just fine. read more

AMAZING Thai food!! Consistently delicious and perfect spice levels. If you can't do dairy or eggs just let them know and they're happy to accommodate. The staff has always been nice and the place gets super busy, so be patient as there usually aren't more than one or two servers. The yellow curry, the drunken noodles, and the pad Thai are our favorites. Tom Gha soup and the spring rolls are fantastic, too. Dont' forget the momos. Get them and take them home - the steamed keep really well. I really don't think you can go wrong here! read more

I'll be honest. I was camping in the area and only came in the restaurant to use the bathroom. I ended up staying for a full dinner. The food was good and the service was unexpectedly awesome. Most of the food felt Thai with a Nepali flair, which is why they have homemade momos. Very, very, very hard to find that anywhere. Definitely get them steamed over fried. Overall it's a big menu with pretty good food and great service, in an unexpected location. read more

What an enjoyable experience I had dining here with friends last Tuesday night! Before even entering I was already enjoying the horses out front with their young owners who told us all about the horses and let us pet and talk to the horses. Now, petting and talking to horses isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I found it quite therapeutic personally. On to reviewing the restaurant....there was a wonderfully affordable Pad Thai which I got with tofu, just a bit over 5 bucks and such a generous amount of food that I ate a filling dinner and had a container of Pad Thai to go that was lunch the next day! Nice place, excellent service, seems like a family operation. I would like to come in again, to try their other dishes, especially want to try the curry. More to be added when I go there again, which if all goes as expected will be in a week or two. read more

This may not be the best Thai food ever, but it's good - I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. I reallyreally like the sauces here. The Thai sweet and sour sauce is particularly delicious. And the momos/crab rangoon appetizers are really great. The noodle dishes are decent, but I haven't been really blown away by anything yet. The curry however, is quite delicious, and generously portioned (I had the mango curry specifically). However, I'm not crazy about the tofu I got in it. I like tofu to be a little crisp on the edges, fried or whatnot - this was just mushy chunks. Still, service is always friendly enough, there are some stand-out dishes in the menu, and I'll be back. Nice family run business that knows their stuff when it comes to service & food. I like the curry. Great place for a feast after a mountain bike ride. I add spice to everything at home, but their Medium spice level is enough to trigger my endorphins (and get a slightly runny nose) toward the end of my meal. But not so hot that I would have to really slow my pace. read more

The wait staff here was nice, but the food is only adequate, not even good. Pad Thai is a staple of Thai restaurants, here its just noodles. Pad se ew had noodles that were either undercooked, or stale. They were both tough and gooey, nothing like Pad se ew at any of the other Thai places I've tried, and they tasted of fish sauce. The curry was fine, but again, not good. I'd eaten here before, when it was called "Thai Restaurant" and the food was much better. A loss. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with Ubon Thai as sometimes it is really good, and other times, not-so-much. Usually, I enjoy their curries or get the fried rice to go. The main problem is the protein you choose is overcooked and bland as can be. I've actually switched to meatless entrees as I cannot handle any more shoe-leather chicken/beef/pork. Service is hit or miss, either being spot on, or taking a while. I attribute this to whether they have people working or not as the staff are all friendly and good, when they are around. It is in desperate need of a renovation. The paint is still from the previous restaurant and the decor is starting to get scary at this point. Dark, pink?, and pretty nasty looking. Luckily, I really don't care as long as the food is good. In the end, we in the mountains are a captive audience and if you are craving Thai flavors, it's a decent choice. read more

We are Nederland residents and have been eating here for several years now. We typically order fish curry, and love it. However, several nights ago we ordered our two fish curry dishes, for a total of $40 and when we got the food home the rice was cold. We immediately called the restaurant to report this and the server mearly said "oh he probably forgot to heat it up." No apologies or offers were given. I asked to please speak with the manager, and was told that she was not in and that no one else spoke English at the restaurant that night. Instead, I left my name and phone number and asked her to please call me back. Today, several days later, no one has called us back. I called the restaurant today to speak with the owner again, and the same server answered the phone and told me no manager or owner was on site. This will be the last time we eat at Ubon, as clearly no one cares about the quality of the food or customer service. read more

Total miss. We frequent this establishment and drive 25 minutes (each direction) to partake but this experience was a miss. Looked at menu online and saw a few Indian specialties and we wanted to branch out and order one of those but when we got to the restaurant we were told they didn't have Indian food. Um, okay. So, decided to order our usual and asked for each item to be spiced mildly and one without any peppers at all, as one of us has a health issue and cannot tolerate spicy foods. When we got the to-go order we could see the soup had extra red peppers! Okay, a communication issue between server and kitchen. They fixed the soup. Unfortunately, we didn't inspect for spice before driving home 25 minutes and the entrees had been made extra hot too. Not normally a "bad review" giver but even the Kirin was warm & skunky. We will probably give them another shot because they are the only Thai place within 20 miles of us but it was a bummer of an experience. Hopefully this was just a bad day and our next visit will exceed our expectations. Silver lining...the mangoes and sticky rice were still awesome. read more

We are a party of 9 GirlScouts and 4 adults on our way to Estes Park. We just finished rock climbing and ziplining and everyone was starving. In our party we have almost every dietary restriction imaginable from vegan to dairy free and everything in between. There was something for everyone! I headed out to the Thai Restaurant tonight for a meeting with a little trepidation. I really don't like spicy food but I'm always up to try new things and am glad I did. I explained to the waitress that "mild spice" was too spicy for me and asked for a suggestion. She recommended the fried rice. When it arrived, it was attractively presented and brightly colored with fresh vegetables. The rice & eggs were nicely cooked and the veggies were all steamed to the proper amount of done-ness. They were all mixed together with a light sauce. The flavor was fabulous! I'll be going back, and may even be a little more adventurous. read more
